There were only about 30 skills left on the list. It looked like there werenât many effective abilities to go against the Godfather.
Looking at the situation, he didnât know what was going on with the original Nathan.
Since in his first life he died against Yog-Sothoth, he thought the original Nathan would be much stronger and prepared even a lot more skills than this.
Then again, the world had also taken into consideration the current Nathanâs ability. Other skills might not be usable for him, either from an elemental perspective or simply the lack of control.
So, thirty were enough for him to choose.
Nathan looked at the list carefully.
Time Astral.
Time Dependency.
From the names alone, he couldnât imagine what the abilities were. However, some were clear enough that he could imagine in just a glance.
"Ah, this..." Nathan stumbled upon two names. He could imagine the kind of power they would wield. And from that imagination, he believed it would be effective against the Godfather.
Nathan immediately wrote a contract.
"In exchange for 1,000,000 ena, Nathan is allowed to borrow the skills âChrono Visionâ and âTime Destructionâ for three hours."
The contract failed, so Nathan lowered the duration. He couldnât afford to lose more blood than this, so he had to use his ena to just borrow the power.
Finally, they reached an agreement after Nathan reduced the time limit to 1 hour. It wasnât as long as he expected, but they might be able to defeat the Godfather within an hour.
"You could even do something like this, Master?" Garuda knew about Nathanâs Soul Contract, but he didnât expect the contract to be more amazing than he originally thought.
"I believed I could, and it turned out I could."
"You believed?"
"Yes. Karma is one of the most mysterious things in the world, as it has some relation to the past, the present, and the future, right?
"Since the Soul Contract was born from karma, and since I had a lot of karma to spare, I thought I could access the power of the past and bring it to the present."
Garuda didnât consider this possibility before. That was right. With Nathanâs power, they could access the power of the past, the present, and the future.
Nathan might not have been able to do it in the past because he didnât have enough ena. In addition, they didnât know how much karma Nathan had accumulated.
After observing him for a while, they realized the abundance of his karma. Even after saving two continents, the addition of the karma was hard to see with the naked eye.
In other words, Nathan could become a bit bolder in utilizing the Soul Contract. And if the Soul Contract was upgraded further, there was no telling what Nathan could do with it, especially if the Soul Contract was strengthened by the power of rules.
And so, Nathan chose to borrow these two abilities from the original Nathan.
He signed it with a thumbprint.
The knowledge about the two techniques instantly flooded his mind, just like what happened when he got the Deadly Claw from Fenrir back when he just started.
This time, Nathan had gotten strong enough to not only use the technique but also to alter it to a certain extent.
That was why he just rented them instead of exchanging them. He believed he could use them again sooner or later, even if he had to return them.
He would just lose some mastery, but with enough time, he would be able to use them.
Nathan took a deep breath. The Time Destruction was an ability that could destroy time in one area. It was similar to a Space-Time Lock, but the Space-Time Lock was just to freeze that area and compress it.
On the other hand, the Time Destruction could erase the timeline itself. In other words, he might be able to erase the timeline of the Godfatherâs light.
The second ability, the Chrono Vision, was even more useful than he had originally thought.
It would allow him to see the past, the present, and the future. He could trace his past or the enemyâs past, including their movements. And with the addition of future vision, he could react faster than the enemy.
This was an ability that he had to get first before anything else.
"Garuda. Protect me for a few seconds."
"Got it."
Nathan closed his eyes for a few seconds. The flow of energy was concentrated into his vision until it opened his eyes to a realm beyond this reality.
When he opened his eyes, there was a blue light coming from his eyes, which turned into clocks.
Nathanâs vision became a bit blurry. He still hadnât gotten used to this Chrono Vision.
He could see three different things at the same time. Depending on how he channeled his energy, he could see things farther than what the current vision showed him.
"Amazing..." Nathan smiled. He knew the original Nathan was strong, but this Chrono Vision was better than he thought.
At first, he expected the original Nathan to have clairvoyance or future sight, but to be able to see all three in a single technique was beyond his expectations.
"The energy consumption itself is quite a lot, but not to the point I should worry at my current level. In that case, letâs begin our counterattack."
Nathan raised his head, looking at Luna and Evelyn still resisting the Godfather.
Without his assistance, they were gradually losing their ground.
So, Nathan leaped into the sky to follow them.
"!!!" Both Luna and Evelyn sensed him, knowing that they could turn the situation around again. Still, they noticed the changes in his eyes. His eyes were similar to Lunaâs, but instead of magic circles, they were clocks.
"I have been waiting for you!" The Godfather seemed to have reserved some power to attack him the moment he returned.
But Nathan had seen it with the Chrono Vision before he even said anything.
Nathan pointed his palm at the spot next to the Godfatherâs head where the light would start to come out.
"Space-Time Destruction!"
