Chapter 1536: Evolution

"How about your two familiars?" Nathan asked.

Sera thought for a moment before raising two fingers. "I have two objective thoughts about them. First of all, it’s true that they’re plenty strong, but they might have a hard time keeping up.

"First of all, an angel’s rank is proportional to the number of wings they possess. So, Dane has to become an archangel, while Lavi has to become a six-winged fallen angel.

"Brunhild is already at the level of a divine being, but she only has one rule at present and is currently forming her second one. She hasn’t summoned her divine body or godhood yet, so it’s no wonder she is not Fenrir’s match.

"Asmodeus, on the other hand, is an original sin. However, after learning about evolution, she is quite curious about his own evolution. I don’t know what’s going on right now, but he has actually formed his first rule.

"He is originally weaker than Brunhild, but he possesses more knowledge than her. That’s why he might form his rule faster than Brunhild. I have no doubt that these two will be able to become divine beings.

"As for Raphael, he is originally a fallen angel. Although he is not a fighter, he is already at the level of Fenrir."

Nathan looked down, contemplating, ’If you think about it, I believe it’s better to continue with the present familiar. Eventually, the number of familiars will end up decreasing due to our opponents. Those without godhood might not be able to remain present anymore.’

Nathan could imagine what would happen if they fought against the ancient ones.

He thought that the 1,000 elite class aliens were the ancient ones. It was true to a certain extent, but he doubted that was all about them. The black cell might need more time to convert the stronger ancient ones.

At least, those at the Cthulhu level would eventually come. They should be beyond an alpha class alien.

So, they would most likely come in waves.

To fight those ancient ones, they would need at least a divine body or even godhood.

It would be good if Lavi and Dane could somehow forge their divine bodies, but he didn’t know whether they had enough time or not.

After all, he had been forcing them to evolve from normal angel and fallen angel. He didn’t know whether he had pushed them a bit too far, to the point where their knowledge and understanding couldn’t keep up with their progress or not, but he should believe their potential first.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t hurt to let them evolve into an archangel and a six-winged fallen angel. At least, they could help Sera for the time being, as Sera was forming her own rule.

On the other hand, he shouldn’t have any worries regarding Brunhild and Asmodeus. Still, he would help them evolve. He was quite curious about Asmodeus’ next form. This might also help Noelle, whose lifebound familiar was a demon.

Raphael was originally at Fenrir’s level, so he didn’t have to help him or anything. But there was one thing he was curious about.

’Raphael should be an archangel, right? I’m not really religious, so I don’t have a deeper understanding of it. If Raphael is a kind of god and the other archangels are the same, wouldn’t Jesus be at the true god level?

’No. Even for the true gods, there are power differences among them. Satan should be on the same level, but according to the description, he is suppressed by the light itself.

’So, what will happen if I help Raphael evolve one more time? Will he grow another pair of wings? Or will he become another true god? Won’t this cause me to break the biblical mythology?’

Nathan didn’t know what would happen, but the thought alone was possible and quite interesting.

Of course, he would have to ask Raphael about this. From what he knew, they served the same figure, so they might not want to evolve so as to not surpass their Lord.

Janus, on the other hand, wasn’t related too closely to his mythology.

Just like Fenrir and the others, he would probably be interested in becoming a true god.

If Sera could form a fusion with him, her strength would increase drastically.

Still, he hadn’t even succeeded in evolving Fenrir and the others, so he had to wait until he succeeded.

’Now that I think about it, maybe there are other conditions. For example, what if evolution requires them to form a godhood? Right now, my Soul Contract can’t be upgraded yet. I assume it’s because of my own power.

’Hmm. My Soul Contract can hide my own karma, but I have tested whether it could give a portion of my karma to others or not. It couldn’t... yet?

’That’s right. If the requirement for the soul contract’s next upgrade is the power of rules, the divine body, or godhood, won’t it allow me to share my karma?

’Maybe the Soul Contract can help me to actually help other people form their divine bodies or godhoods.’

Nathan hadn’t thought about this possibility before. But looking at how the contract progressed, he might actually be able to do it.

If he shared this karma, it might harm his own body. However, this karma would be linked to him, meaning every action that these people took would affect his karma.

Knowing his women, they would definitely use this power for good. Meaning, if they saved people, he would also gain a portion of the karma they were supposed to receive.

In other words, it felt like he was investing in them and he would receive a dividend from time to time. Or it might be similar to a bond. He didn’t know since he wasn’t an expert in the matter, but he believed it wouldn’t hurt him in the end.

’That’s a weird way of describing the situation, but this might be worth trying. In that case, my first priority will be forming my own rule...’

Nathan took a deep breath. He got plenty of ideas when he was just trying to help.

He planned to consult Xolotl and Garuda about it, but for now, he shouldn’t let these two wait.

"I will help with the evolution, but I can’t guarantee right now. At most, I can only help Dane and Lavi for now."

"That’s fine as well." Sera nodded.

Nathan then turned to Flora. "Now that Sera is done, let’s proceed with the evolution of your spirits."
