Chapter 1660: Possibilities

"Did you find anything?" Nathan asked.

Luna pointed at the soil. "It looks like we’ve found them. Let’s follow them."

Nathan saw the footprints. If they took another look around, they would find a bunch of traces that led in the same direction. As they predicted, the aliens were being recalled by a strong alien.

Nathan first summoned Fenrir and fused with him. "Let’s go!"

Luna and Selena nodded. They fused with their respective familiars first before leaving.

It didn’t take too long for them to finally find what they were looking for.

"!!!" Nathan widened his eyes in shock. He couldn’t see everything, but there were many giant aliens scattered around the area. It was clear that they couldn’t gather in a single spot because there were even smaller aliens around them.

Several of them were already confirmed to be elite class aliens. Nathan and Fenrir could sense with their instincts the danger of this army.

They noticed many aliens releasing the kind of danger where they had to be extra careful against them.

’Elite class aliens... Most likely, there are elite class mutants too.’ Nathan frowned. ’Do you sense any alpha class aliens, Fenrir?’

’Not yet.’

’Should we assume that there are no alpha class aliens? There are only elite class mutants, but we can’t exactly underestimate them either.’

’Yes. We have only encountered two elite class mutants all this time, even fewer than alpha class aliens. These mutants might not have the power of rules, but their unique abilities are much stronger than normal elite class aliens. If we underestimate them, we might suffer severely.’

Nathan agreed. It looked like they had to slightly adjust their plan. ’How many elite class aliens are here?’

’I’m not so sure. There are over a hundred, but it’s nowhere near the number you once mentioned.’

Nathan frowned. This was weird. ’Not enough elite class aliens?’

’Yes. My senses are still working perfectly, so this is a bit weird.’

Nathan crossed his arms. ’Is the army split even further?’

Nathan didn’t know what was going on, but the army had arrived. The only problem was, where were they?

Selena mentioned the tunnel case in the past. He wondered if the enemy had dug tunnels somewhere. If that were the case, the situation would become even more complicated.

Nathan thought a bit more before tapping Luna and Selena’s shoulders. He gestured for them to follow him back without saying anything.

Once they reached a certain distance, Nathan explained, "The situation doesn’t look very good. The number doesn’t match."

"So, what are we going to do next?" Selena asked. "We can eliminate them by ourselves if we want."

"Yes. I’m just worried that there are more aliens on the way. Or they may have dug tunnels."

"Like the one in the past?"

"I can’t rule out the possibility. Or we may have just failed to bring them all here." Nathan looked down.

"In that case, why don’t we attack them first? This way, we can reduce their numbers. The damage will be quite huge to that army."

Nathan shook his head. "I have left behind two contracts. The first contract is to give me a signal that the enemy has come. The second contract is to alert me that our plan doesn’t work.

"Right now, I can’t sense anything yet. However, I’m thinking about sending a signal to Elysion. If we can ask him to check the situation, we may be able to know the overall situation."

"In the meantime, we have confirmed this one, so we will move the empire’s forces. Meanwhile, I will have the workers from the dynasty to the second line of defense and start working there. There is a chance that this army splits further..."

"I need you to coordinate with Evelyn."

"Got it."

Nathan then took out the contract. Unfortunately, their way of communicating was limited, so he could only give this signal. Nevertheless, it was good that they managed to confirm that the army of the elite class aliens was here.

If Elysion checked the enemies on Gratzel and sent the signal that something had gone wrong, it would mean there were only a hundred elite class aliens here. The remaining nine hundred were on Gratzel.

So, he first tore up the contract and let Elysion know about the condition. Then, he summoned Jinwu, his number one scout.

"Jinwu, can you fly low and make sure to be unnoticed by them?"

"Sure." Jinwu nodded. "It looks like we’re about to fight them..."

"Yeah." Nathan agreed. "So, I want you to go there and scout the entire area. Maybe because I’m not close enough, I can’t sense all of them right now."

"Got it."

Nathan had to check all the possibilities while preparing for the worst-case scenario.

Meanwhile, Elysion felt as if his body had been electrocuted for a split second.

"!!!" Elysion widened his eyes in surprise. This was the signal he had been waiting for.

"It looks like they found it first..." Elysion narrowed his eyes. "But since they have come, we should expect them to arrive on this continent as well. I will need those people to work even harder."

Elysion turned to his three death gods. "How is our preparation?"

"The army is ready. We should be able to fight them on equal footing. It’s just... it will be quite hard to justify the action."

"Who cares about the justification?" Elysion chuckled before saying jokingly, "I am the strongest summoner in the world. They are hopeless against the enemy. We chop people’s heads off if they disagree with us, so who cares about their opinions."
