Chapter 154 Appeasing Selina
Luke somehow felt relaxed when he saw Selina watching TV lazily on the couch.
Seeing how comfortable her life was made him feel that his own life was just as comfortable! That was what Luke thought in his heart.
Selina, on the other hand, glanced at him and didnât say anything.
Luke greeted her and went to look for food in the fridge. A moment later, he exclaimed, âSelina, whereâs the beef? The roast chicken? And the cake?â
Luke had every reason to be shocked, because all the food had been prepared for two people. But it was all gone?
Suspicious, Luke went over to Selina and observed her carefully for a moment.
Finally, he couldnât take it any longer, and raised her shirt above her stomach.
Selina cried out angrily, âWhat are you doing, jerk?â
Luke looked at her bulging belly, lost for words. âYouâre not going to tell me that youâre three months pregnant after just one day, right?â
Selina looked away shiftily. âYou said you werenât coming back, so I figured that I didnât need to leave you any food.â
Luke held his head. âDonât you feel full?â
Selina said matter-of-factly, âThatâs why I donât want to move right now.â
Luke was lost for words. âAlright, wait here.â
Picking up his wallet, he left for the Chinese supermarket, and bought a few things.
After he returned, he cooked a pot of soup in the kitchen, and later brought out a cup of it. âDrink this.â
Selina showed no intention of moving. Left with no other choice, Luke could only hold her head and feed her the soup.
The moment she tasted the soup, she perked up. âWow, itâs delicious. Sweet and sour. What did you put inside?â
Luke said, âItâs made from hawthorn, red bayberries, and sugar. It can help with digestion.â
Selina said, âGive me another cup.â
Luke said, âThereâs one more cup in the kitchen. Drink it an hour later.â
Selina was immediately disappointed. âWhy didnât you make more?â
Luke was angry. âSo that you can eat more once youâve digested everything thatâs in your stomach?â
Selina chuckled. âItâs only because you went out to fool around with Jimena. I was too bored to do anything other than eat.â
Luke said, âIâve only fooled around once in the past half year. If I were someone else, people would think that Iâm gay.â
en
Selina snorted. âYouâre not trying hard enough. You go home after work every day. Iâve never seen you hit on a girl.â
Luke said, âI go home after work because I have to make food for you. Are you complaining about that?â
As he spoke, he stretched out his hand and placed his palm on her belly, before he started rubbing it slowly in a clockwise direction.
He wasnât using a lot of strength. Selina took a long breath, feeling quite comfortable. âWhat are you doing?â
Luke said, âPay attention to what Iâm doing and how much strength Iâm using. Rub clockwise like this; itâll help with your digestion, you pig.â He then stopped.
Selina lay still on the couch. âWhy donât you do it for me? I donât feel like moving.â
Luke said, âYou donât feel like moving because youâre too full.â He washed his hands and made food for himself in the kitchen.
Since Selina had devoured his dinner, he had to make more food.
Thankfully, he had purchased a lot of ingredients a few days ago for the holidays. There was a lot of marinated beef and chicken.
He quickly stir-fried some beef and made himself a sandwich, which he then enjoyed with a glass of milk.
Selina didnât steal his food this time. It seemed that she was really full.
She lay on the couch and rubbed her slightly bulging belly with her right hand while she switched TV channels with the remote in her left hand.
She then switched to a news channel that was covering last nightâs incident at Nakatomi Plaza.
The TV hosts were talking animatedly. Very soon, stretchers covered in white cloth appeared on camera.
One of the TV hosts said, âAs far as we know, the police and a team of robbers were engaged in a fierce shootout at Nakatomi Plaza last night. The police killed 37 robbers and injured seven. Three police officers were killed, and seven were injured. One of the hostages was killed.â
Luke did some calculations.
Two police officers had been in the armored car, and eight SWAT members charged into the building. So, the casualties were all on the policeâs side?
Luke didnât want to see too many casualties on LAPDâs side, particularly not when they were caused by someone elseâs idiotic command.
Selina perked up and called out âDarlingâ in the sweetest voice.
Luke knew that she wanted something. âJust tell me what you want.â
Selina asked, âHow many people did you kill?â
Luke counted for a while, but shook his head. âIâm not certain. Iâm sure that I killed eleven and injured four, but I donât know how many more I killed.â
Selina found that odd. âYou donât know?â She knew that Luke had good sight and hearing.
Luke shrugged. âI fired at two vans with a UMP. I donât know how many robbers were in them. Probably more than twenty, I think.â
Selina was excited. âYou can do that? Iâm gonna try that next time.â
Luke rolled his eyes. âI couldnât have done it without John McClane. They wouldnât have all retreated to the vans if they had known that they were dealing with more than one opponent.â
Selina pondered deeply. âOh, I see. So, we should hide during a mission, then jump out at the end to claim the credit.â
Luke thought for a moment, then nodded his head. âThatâs right. Youâll most likely just get yourself killed if you charge out in front.â
At that moment, the news commentary continued, âThese robbers pretended to be terrorists and demanded that the American government release seven members of the Irish National Liberation Army, six of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, and three of Asian Dawn. However, this was soon discovered to be a ruse. Asian Dawn doesnât exist at all, and was invented by a third-rate newspaper. The robbersâ real target was the bearer bonds worth 640 million in Nakatomi Corporationâs vault.â
Selinaâs mouth dropped open. âWow, thatâs a lot of money.â
Suddenly, she rolled her eyes. âDoes that mean that youâll be getting another cash reward?â
Luke nodded and said, âProbably, depending on Nakatomi Corporation. And even if Nakatomi Corporation doesnât want to give me one, our police department should give me something, right?â
