Chapter 420 Professional Ball Roaster and Professional Code Name
Natalie spread her hands and said, âThis is the answer to your previous question.â Jeff was at a loss. âWhat answer?â
Karen suddenly interjected, âItâs because they ratted out Tim that his house was blown up.â
Jeff asked, âWhat? Howâs that possible?!â
Karen, as paranoid as ever, added, âBecause theyâre the ones whom Timâs after. Apart from Carl, the only other person you talked to about Tim being a spy was Danny.â Tim was lost for words. âHuh?â He was a special agent, okay? He wasnât a spy. He had shed blood for his country!
Karen looked at him apologetically. âThe bug we found earlier gave us the wrong idea, you know.â
Tim hesitated. Fine. A spy was actually a type of special agent. It wasnât unreasonable for them to draw that conclusion.
Jeff finally got it. âIs that why those gunmen wanted to kill us when we went to meet Carl?â
He looked at Danny in sheer disbelief. âWhy? Why would you do that?â
Neither Danny nor his wife could say a word because their mouths had been taped shut.
Luke couldnât watch anymore. He didnât have that much time to waste on them. Tearing the tape off, he said, âAlright, tell me everything you know.â
Danny and Meg looked at each other but didnât say anything.
Luke asked Tim, âYou must be a professional; do you want to do it?â
Natalie stepped forward and said, âLet me.â
As she spoke, she casually grabbed a butane blow torch from the side. She flicked the switch, and it spouted blue flames.
Jeff asked, âWait, what are you doing?â
Natalie said, âBall roasting is a very effective interrogation method, especially with lecherous men.â
Luke and Tim couldnât help but step back and unconsciously bend their waists.
Danny stopped breathing as he looked fearfully at the blue flames.
Jeffâs eyes widened. âWait, you canât threaten to roast Dannyâs balls, thatâs too much.â
Danny was touched, but his face changed the next second.
Jeff grabbed a hammer and shouted, âYou piece of sh*t, you actually called a bunch of killer gunmen over; Karen and I were almost turned into Swiss cheese! Iâm going to kill
you!â
âWhoa, whoa!â Tim hurriedly stopped the irate good guy Jeff. âDonât, we need him alive. If he doesnât talk, how about you break his legs later? And his hands too, if thatâs not enough.â
Scared, Danny yelled, âN- no! I really didnât call anyone to kill you! I swear! Youâre my good neighbor and colleague. Why would I want to kill you? I didnât even tell them your name. I only said that Carl and Tim knew about the deal!â
Luke asked, âWhat deal?â
Danny immediately shut up.
Natalie looked at Tim. Seeing him nod, she said, âDannyâs a maintenance engineer at MBI. A fighter plane that had been on a secret mission previously was delivered to MBI for maintenance last month. We got word that a guy named Tyrannosaur was looking to buy some information from him, which probably had to do with the atomic weapon on the plane.â
Hearing that, Dannyâs face turned pale and he quickly shook his head. âNo! Not at all! That fighter plant wasnât kitted out with any atomic weapons!â
If he was found guilty of selling atomic weapons, his whole family would probably be vaporized.
He yelled, âTyrannosaur only wanted to know the maintenance progress on the fighter plane, and when it would be moved after the maintenance.â
Everybody traded looks, and Natalie asked, âIf thatâs all, why were you acting all mysterious? Are you lying? Do you want your balls roasted!?â
The blue flames whooshed out again.
Since Danny had already spat out part of it, his willpower started to crumble and he promptly cried, âN- no, I was just worried about my job. If Iâm caught, I wonât just be fired and locked up, Iâd also have to pay damages, so I never agreed to the deal.â
Tim sneered. âActually, it was just that the price wasnât right, wasnât it? That was a very steep reward you were asking for.â
Danny stammered, âN- not at all. I never sold any information.â
The blue flames glowed again in Natalieâs hands.
This time, however, Danny insisted, âI really didnât sell any information, really. Itâs just that Tyrannosaur keeps contacting me.â Ding! Ding! Ding! An unpleasant ringtone rang out, and everybody looked at the source of the sound.
The only person who had such an unpleasant ringtone⊠was Danny.
He was using a burner phone to keep in contact with Tyrannosaur, hence the unpleasant ringtone.
Tim picked up Dannyâs phone from the table and frowned at the number. âItâs Tyrannosaur.â
He gave the phone to Danny and said, âWork with us and see what he has to say.â
Danny shook his head quickly. âNo, I canât do it. Iâm just an ordinary person, a father who takes his kids to football games. Iâm not a spy.â
He was almost crying as he spoke.
His wife, Meg, also explained, âHe never misses the kidsâ sports day; he always watches their games.â
Tim was helpless.
According to Danny, he was an ordinary person who just wanted to sell company information for money. He hadnât said anything to the other party about Jeff being an informant.
Carl, as head of security, was therefore attacked, and a bomb was placed inside Timâs house, but nothing happened to Jeffâs place.
It was clear from this that Danny had only divulged Carl and Timâs names.
But if Jeff wasnât taken care of, Dannyâs dealings might still come to light.
He clearly wasnât any sort of professional, not to mention he was far from ruthless. Now that he was being interrogated by Tim and the others, and knew how serious things were, he might give the game away over the phone.
The phone was still ringing, and Tim frowned.
Luke remained silent.
Jeff, however, suddenly stepped forward and picked up the phone. âHello, is this Mr. Tyrannosaur?â
Everybody looked at Jeff, who unexpectedly sounded a lot like Danny at that moment.
âHello, Mr. Rick Forrest.â The person on the other side of the phone was obviously using a voice changer.
Everybody then looked at Danny.
Danny said in a very low voice. âOf course I need a code name for this.â
Everybody was lost for words. So now youâre acting like a damn pro? Less than thirty seconds later, Jeff hung up. Everybody looked at him, and it was his wife, Karen, who eventually asked, âHoney, how are you able to copy Dannyâs voice?â Jeff said with a bitter smile, âIt was a joke. One time in the company, it was popular to pretend to be someone else on the phone, and I chose to mimic Danny. Sadly, just when I was close to sounding just like him after practicing for almost two months, this game suddenly stopped being popular.â
Everybody: ââŠâ
