Chapter 819: CEO Jenny Has to Be Overbearing
Luke pondered for a moment. âThere are even more of those who are up to no good, right?â
Jennyâs face darkened. âTheyâve never stopped, and itâs a few companies now; Weyland has already indicated that thereâs nothing he can do.â
Luke didnât think much of it. âItâs fine. Donât we already have that âlittle green robotâ as bait? Youâve been preparing for this, right?â
Jenny hesitated. âAre we really going to take out Little Green? Maybe we can think of something else?â
Luke shrugged. âItâs best if we can complete most of our patent exchange before they take action, or the patent lawsuits later will completely drag down the phone company.â
Jenny nodded helplessly. She knew that she had to throw out âLittle Greenâ if she wanted to keep the phone company safe.
There were a lot of big companies in America that specialized in patent frauds, especially in the Internet and electronics field.
The more valuable the Titanium Phone Company was, the happier these guys were.
Nobody had made a move yet. They were waiting for Titanium Phone Company to increase in worth.
At that time, these big companies that relied on patents to make a fortune would take out the patent stick which they had been hiding behind their backs to hit Titanium Phone Company and obtain its patent license or ask for sky-high compensation.
Given the speed at which the cell phone company was expanding, it wouldnât be long before these companies couldnât hold back anymore and would swarm over to split the fruits of the labor.
While she was considering these questions, Luke pulled her into his arms and whispered in her ear, âNow, I have something to say. Donât get too excited. Stay calm, okay?â
Jenny blushed. âPfft, what are your hands doing?â
Luke chuckled dryly.
Thatâs to keep you in place in case you suddenly explode.
Then, he told her what he was here for.
âW! T!... mm!â A high-pitched cry which almost broke the sound barrier rang out.
Luke quickly covered her mouth. âBe more civilized, alright? Youâre a CEO now. You canât just swear.â
He shut up for a few seconds after Jenny cursed, before she calmed down and signaled for him to let go.
Luke immediately moved his hand away.
He wasnât afraid of her swearing, but this old building wasnât soundproof, and it was easy for anyone to eavesdrop on them for nothing.
This time, Jenny wasnât in a hurry to say anything. She thought for a long while before she said, âDo we have to take out a loan?â
Luke snorted and said, âWe canât deal with certain people and forces on our own for the time being. Itâs better to intimidate them with a tiger.â
Jenny frowned and remembered the people who even Weyland didnât want to mess with.
After a brief silence, she said, âI have a suitable person here. Sheâs very rich, and also wants to join our company.â
Luke asked, âWho?â
âDo you remember Beth Thompson, the richest woman in the Thompson family and a major shareholder of Island Dragon Electronics?â Jenny reminded him.
Of course Luke knew who this Miss Beth was.
It was the young lady who went missing in Poland, leading to that âunmentionable storyâ between Luke and the vampires.
Also, this young lady had a âbad luck halo.â It wasnât just her, but the people around her were also unlucky.
She had been kidnapped by the vampireâs lackey, the Bubblegum Gang, and two of her classmates had been kidnapped as well.
When she returned, she realized that her father and brother had played disgraceful roles in this matter, and she dug a pit for her fatherâs phone company.
In the end, her enemy, the vampires, had caught Lukeâs attention when he went looking for her, and he killed a lot of them. Even the Thompson familyâs rival, the Elsworth family, suffered heavy losses.
She, her friends, family, and enemies all came out of this incident worse off.
With such bad luck, Miss Beth was also the kind of unlucky person who was ârich but not happy.â
Luke raised an eyebrow. âSheâs so young and has enough assets to last her several lifetimes. Why is she working so hard?â
Jenny said helplessly, âI donât think she just wants to make money. She wants to participate in any future decisions our company makes.â
Luke asked, âDoes she want to swallow up the phone company?â
Jenny shook her head. âMy guess is that she wants to completely destroy her fatherâs phone company.â
Luke sweated. âWhat a grudge! Is she going to make Dad poor?â
Jenny sighed. âPretty much! I didnât ask about her family, but there were a few times when she accidentally mentioned her father and brother, and she looked like she wanted them dead. She couldnât hide her hatred at all.â
Luke didnât say anything and started thinking.
Jenny continued, âThis deal can include a patent exchange between Island Dragon and our company for at least ten years.â
Luke thought for a moment. âIs this young lady very rich?â
Jenny said, âA lot of financial magazines have reported her net worth as no less than eighty billion dollars. If we succeed, she might even be worth more than a hundred billion dollars.â
Luke chuckled. âIt seems Island Dragon is a patent magnate, right? Giving her the exclusive rights to âLittle Greenâ will earn her money as well as draw some peopleâs attention.â
Hearing that, Jenny couldnât help but tighten her grip on Lukeâs waist. âCan we do that?â
That was the first solution she had thought of when Luke said earlier that he was going to take a loan out on the phone company.
In any case, he had prepared âLittle Greenâ as bait long ago. He was just waiting for the right moment to throw it out.
Jenny didnât believe in the conscience of capitalists, and she didnât want to put the phone company in the hands of another power so soon.
If that happened, it would be very easy for Titanium Phone Company, which wasnât big enough yet, to be taken advantage of by big capitalists
Luke nodded with a smile. âSure. Handle it yourself, but the money has to be settled within a week at most. You can make some concessions.â
Jenny heaved a sigh of relief, and then turned her attention back to the business Luke had raised. âWhat happened to Stark Industries? Why do you think its stock price will drop?â
Luke said, âItâs inside information. Thereâs internal conflict in Stark Industries; the stock price will definitely drop. We can take this opportunity to make some money.â
Jenny was surprised. âReally?â
Then, she frowned again. âBut why are you using our profits to buy Stark Industries shares? Are you sure the price will rise again after it drops? From what youâre saying, it wonât be just a small drop.â
Luke smiled. âBecause as long as Tony Stark doesnât get kicked out of the company, the stock price will rise again after he starts putting out a few projects.â
Jenny raised her eyebrows. âArenât you exaggerating? Heâs indeed very good, but you make it sound like heâs God.â
But when it comes to making money from technology, this young master is truly god!
Luke felt helpless.
