How does the Seer even exist at this point
Also, even if he were to believe her storyā
"Your explanation itself doesn't make sense either.
You say you learned about the Multiverse after you cleared all of the Trials in the Temple of Time, then you manipulated Zylarith into killing Avernyth.
Butā¦
Vashti wasn't even born when Avernyth arrived and if you went to the past as Vashti, then that should have created another branch and ultimately a different Universe."
Nux spoke out his thoughts, the flaws in the Seer's explanation couldn't be more obvious, if he had heard this story from anyone else, at any point in time, he would have called it bullshit and would have given a one-star review for lack of smart writing in the fantasy story.
Butā¦
For some odd reasonā
Even when his mind could see the obvious flaws in the story, as he saw the woman standing in front of him with a calm look on her face, he couldn't help but have this nagging feeling that⦠whatever she was saying was the truth.
And it was.
"You are trying to simplify things that cannot be simplified."
The Seer answered with a light smile on her face. Then, she looked at the vast space they were in andā
"You are in a Multiverse."
She informed.
"A space where no living entity should be in the first place, and yetā¦
Here you are.
You say my explanation doesn't make sense, that it sounds impossible butā¦"
The Seer turned back to him andā
"The very fact that you are here talking to me is an impossibility."
"Do not try to change the subject."
Nux narrowed his eyes.
"I am not trying to change the subject, I am trying to say that things are far more complicated than the picture you have in your mind."
"Explain the complications to me then."
Nux didn't back down.
He was serious when he said he would only accept whatever the Seer had to offer once she told him the truth. He would no longer trust her on empty words.
The Seer looked at him and⦠at some level, she knew this was exactly how he would react.
So she just sighedā
"You are in a Multiverse."
She repeated her sentence.
"What you see in front of you are countless Universes that exist simultaneously."
Nux didn't interrupt, he let her continue and the Seer didā
"And while the depiction of Universes you see here may confuse you, do not be fooled.
The Concept of Time does not exist in the Multiverse.
It only exists individually, in individual Universes, or in other words, the Concept of Time only exists for beings that are part of the Universe.
But for the Multiverseā
Past, Present and Future do not come one after the other.
For the Multiverse, everything, about every particular Universe, be it its Beginning, its End, the Time when the Universe is conquered by a Godā
It is all happening simultaneously."
The Seer explained andā¦
"ā¦what?"
Nux had absolutely no clue what she just said.
The Seer then looked at him andā
"The Multiverse doesn't care when an entity named Vashti cleared the Temple of Time, from its perspective, it will happen, it is happening, and it has happenedā
All at the same time."
She explained and finally, Nux's expression began to change.
"So according to the Multiverse, the time when Vashti has cleared the Temple of Time and the time when Zylarith erases Avernyth is⦠no different.
So even if you went to the past, manipulated Zylarith to kill Avernyth, the Multiverse will not notice that you fooled it."
He spoke and the Seer chuckledā
"While I am glad you have such a high opinion of me, I do not possess the ability to trick it.
I did not fool the Multiverse, Nux.
It is exactly how it is supposed to work."
"So⦠the moment Zylarith killed you as Avernythā¦
You arrived here on your own?"
"That would be a more accurate way to put it, yes."
The Seer nodded.
"It must have confused you."
Nux commented. He couldn't imagine dying and then appearing in a place like this with absolutely no one telling him what this was and where he was.
Even when he came here, if it wasn't for her telling him what she did, he would still be looking around with a foolish look on his face, while trying to understand where he was.
But thenā
"No, I knew."
"ā¦what?"
Now Nux frowned again.
"I tricked Zylarith into killing me, remember? It amuses me how they still think I sacrificed myself for the greater good."
She laughed but Nux wasn't the least bit amused. He was now even more confused.
"How did you, as Avernyth, know you were supposed to trick Zylarith when Vashti didn't even exist at thatā¦"
Before Nux completed his words, he turned silent on his own. He was still confused, he felt like he knew the answer, but at the same time, he didn't.
The Seer looked at him and chuckledā
"You are still looking at things through the Concept of Time. The moment I became the Seer, both my incarnations, Vashti and Avernyth, were no longer part of the Universe, the Concept of Time did not exist for them any longer.
Avernyth knew about Vashti, Vashti knew about Avernyth, and both of them did what was supposed to be done to createā¦
Me."
She explained in the simplest way possible.
"But I read Vashti's memoriesā¦"
Nux repeated the same point.
He had seen Vashti's memories through Zylarith's mind and he did not see any memories related to Avernyth or the Seer.
"What you saw was the distorted version of Vashti in a timeline that you corrupted."
The Seer answered and Nuxā
"This is exactly what I have been trying to say ALL THIS WHILE!"
He raised his voice.
"I corrupted the Timeline, I changed the Universe's present and altered its future, because of me, Vashti is captured, because of me, Vashti would never be able to clear the Temple of Time, because of me, she would never learn about the existence of the Multiverse, ultimately, Avernyth would never learn about the existence of the Multiverseā
So what I am trying to say isā
You should not exist."
