Anna invited Arabel to the guest room on the ground floor, where she and her husband had woken up that morning.
"So what do you want?" Arabel asked bluntly as soon as they were alone. There was no fake joy in her voice that she had shown before.
"Oh, how quickly you changed your tone as soon as we were alone," Anna remarked with a slight smirk.
"I asked you what you wanted and why you brought me here," Arabel repeated her question.
"Whatās wrong with a mother wanting to talk to her daughter?" Anna replied with a slight smile.
"A mother who hasnāt been involved in anything for most of her childrenās lives," Arabel added. "Tell me, were we important to you before the disaster happened and Arslan became an awakened one?"
Anna was silent, just staring at her daughter. She could see that Arabel wasnāt very happy to see them. And, of course, Anna wasnāt surprised.
After a short silence, Anna took a deep breath and asked a question.:
"Do you want to hear an honest answer or what you expect me to say?"
Arabel didnāt know which one to choose. Deep down, she wanted to hear that she and her brother were important to their parents. But she was also afraid to hear the word "no."
"I can see that youāre not sure yourself and youāre not ready to hear the answer," Anna said. "Then letās forget about our relationship and pretend that we are not mother and daughter, but ordinary friends."
"Friends?" Arabel repeated.
"Yes, friends who have retired to gossip a bit," Anna confirmed. "You donāt mind that, do you?"
Arabel thought about it and nodded.
"Okay, letās sit down," Anna Arabel suggested, and they settled on the bed. Anna couldnāt help but admire how beautiful her daughter had become.
"Tell me, Arabel, have you done this yet?" Anna asked the question that was most important to her. She wanted to know if her daughter had become a real woman.
Arabel was embarrassed and blushed.
"No, we havenāt done that yet," she replied.
"Oh, really?" ā Anna was surprised. When she saw how embarrassed Arabel was, she realized that her daughter was telling the truth and was overjoyed.
"So heās just a handsome boy?" Anna asked with a grin, which caused Arabel to be clearly displeased.
Arabelās eyes immediately flashed with a dangerous gleam. She remembered how Anna had behaved in front of Idan, and that made her gaze even more piercing.
Anna, looking at her daughter, was not afraid of this look, but, on the contrary, could not restrain a smile.
"Iām warning you; donāt you dare think about him and do stupid things," Arabel said in a cold tone. "Heās mine and mine alone."
And then Anna couldnāt help but laugh almost hysterically.
"Oh, my God, I canāt! Ah-ha-ha-ha!" she exclaimed, and there were even tears in her eyes.
Arabel was puzzled, but she still looked at Anna with some hostility.
"Phew, phew..." ā Anna stopped and began to breathe heavily. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Arabel.
"You look so much like me, Arabel, that itās both funny and scary," she said.
"Donāt worry, Iām not interested in your handsome boyfriend," she added, smiling.
"What are you talking about?" Arabel still couldnāt understand her.
"I mean, you inherited not only my appearance ā the color of my eyes, hair, body structure, but also my character," Anna replied.
"Wait, wait, wait. Your character? You... you..." Arabel didnāt know how to formulate her thoughts correctly.
"Heh heh. Youāre just as possessive as I am, Arabel," and then Arabel saw a familiar, slightly crazy smile appear on Annaās face, and goosebumps ran down her spine.
Arabel was stunned. She believed that this strange and slightly unhealthy side of her had manifested itself after the second ascension trial. However, she never expected that it was inherent in her from birth and inherited from her mother.
"Why do you think Richard, the descendant of an influential family, a rich and attractive man in the prime of his life, has no other lovers and interests?" asked Anna, still smiling.
Arabel didnāt need to answer that question, as the answer was right in front of her, smiling back at her.
"But I thought you didnāt love him," ā Arabel said softly.
"Love? What makes you think I love Richard?" asked Anna, tilting her head to the side.
"Since Richard has agreed to marry me, he can only belong to me, and no other woman can take what belongs to me. Heās mine."
Arabel now understood why Anna had said she looked like her. Looking at Anna now, Arabel seemed to see herself in a mirror.
Arabel, analyzing what she had just heard, realized that Anna had a slightly different and distorted kind of possessiveness.
Unlike Anna, Arabel was in love with Idan. However, Anna, although she claimed that Richard belonged to her, said that she did not love him. It was as if she only perceived him as a "thing."
"Although Richardās character leaves much to be desired, he performs his role as a husband well, especially in bed. At first, he barely coped with his task, but then he gained experience, and he still holds up well, only his stamina is slightly lame," Anna continued, sharing information with Arabel. "But despite all this, he more or less satisfies me, and thatās enough for me."
"But because of all the events that have happened lately, not only have we rarely seen each other, but I also havenāt had the opportunity to demand Richard perform his marital duties."
"Oh my God, why are you sharing this with me?" exclaimed Arabel, blushing deeply. Her imagination, slightly perverted, painted a picture: Anna, curvy and beautiful, completely naked, dominating the passive Richard.
"Damn! Damn! Damn!"
Arabel began to swear, trying to get rid of these thoughts.
Anna laughed, watching Arabelās reaction, holding her stomach.
"I just wanted to warn you. Youāre almost my copy, and Iām sure that as soon as you try it all yourself, youāll understand the other side of yourself. And I hope your boyfriend turns out to be more capable than Richard was at the time," Anna said, wiping away a tear.
"Of course, Dan is talented and definitely surpasses my father. Iām confident in his abilities," Arabel said with confidence, and her face turned red like a ripe tomato when she saw Annaās smirk.
"Arabel," ā Anna addressed her, while Arabel tried to banish obscene thoughts. "Youāre already an awakened one, and Iāve heard that awakened ones have the ability to get amazing things there."
"Phew..." Arabel gasped and looked up, her face still red.
"Do you happen to have something that can increase a personās stamina?" asked Anna, shifting slightly on the bed. "You know, itās been a long time since Iāve done this, and now that Iām here, away from family control and free, I canāt wait any longer."
"Damn it, Mom!" exclaimed Arabel.
"What?" asked Anna, and after a little hesitation, she confessed in a barely audible voice: "Iām just afraid that after a long abstinence I wonāt be able to restrain myself and "eat" your father."
