Chapter 866: Chapter 866: The Lavish Lu Sanzhu
Daniu nodded, sharing his plans with her, "Yu said that these flowers will be very valuable once they are mature. Yu also values them greatly; just now during the meal, she asked about the sunflowers. I reckon that once things settle down, sheâll start planting them on a large scale."
Zhou Qiao couldnât help but turn her head, "Now that Yu has become the Village Chief, will she still plant flowers?"
The Village Chief has an annual salary, and her status is now noble, not even a bit inferior to those young ladies from great families. Those daughters of wealthy households usually stay home embroidering and reading books, and even if they go out, itâs to appreciate flowers.
Daniu laughed, "You donât understand Yu; she likes to rely on herself in everything. Even as the Village Chief, she wonât miss an opportunity to make money. Once sheâs ready to plant sunflowers, Iâll go find Yu and volunteer myself. Then weâll see where she buys land, and weâll go there."
However, no matter where it is, Shangshi Village is unlikely.
The lands there currently for sale are all fragmented, just one or two acres each.
But Yu said before, sunflowers should be planted in large patches to look good.
After hearing Daniuâs words, Zhou Qiao finally felt at ease. She knew she couldnât avoid her mother-in-law forever, but right now, she really didnât want to deal with her, especially since her mother-in-law had already started pressing for grandchildren.
The couple finally went to bed with peace of mind.
Early the next morning, Daniu and Zhou Qiao got ready and drove the mule carriage straight to the south of the city.
They arrived early when the streets were still empty and the shops along the sides had not yet opened, save for a few breakfast stalls that were already set up.
Therefore, they traveled smoothly, but even so, it took a while to reach the south of the city.
Daniu stopped the mule carriage and knocked on Lu Sanzhuâs gate first.
Lu Sanzhu was just about to head to the street to buy some buns for breakfast; he was now a man whose wages had been raised several times, so occasionally, when his wife was too lazy to get up and cook breakfast, he could go out and buy food, which felt simply delightful.
Who knew that just as he walked to the courtyard, he heard a knock at the door.
"Who is it so early in the morning?"
He walked to the door and opened it, only to see the couple standing at the doorway.
"Daniu?? Why are you here, and so early?"
Lu Sanzhu frowned, a bad premonition flashing through his mind. Could something have happened? Things at Bossâs place have been quite unsettled recentlyâlast time it was Erniu being sent back home from the private school, and before that was Lanhuaâs engagement being called off.
Now, here they were, the couple together, and at such an important time before he had to leave for work; definitely, something major had happened.
Lu Sanzhu didnât really want to get involved; he felt troubled, so he turned and shouted back inside, "Honey, Daniu and his wife are here, get up quickly."
Then he turned back to the couple before him and said, "Daniu, whatever it is, talk to your Third Aunt, Third Uncle still has to go to work. Itâs getting late, if I donât leave now, Iâll be late."
As he finished speaking, he was ready to leave, not even going to buy breakfast anymore.
Daniu knew Lu Sanzhu all too well and immediately saw through his thoughts.
Feeling somewhat helpless as he watched Third Uncle getting ready to leave, he quickly reached out and grabbed his arm, "Third Uncle, wait a moment, Iâve come to tell you some good news."
Lu Sanzhu immediately stopped, "Good news?"
His suspicious gaze swept back and forth over the couple; Daniu was an honest man, he wouldnât lie to him.
Reassured, Lu Sanzhu stepped back, "What good news, tell me."
