"Yes?" With his heart beating faster, Reinhardt wondered what Verdia wanted to talk to him about.
"Not here, letās go to the balcony. You all, do not follow me. Itās my order." Saying that, she waltzed to the balcony adjacent to the room.
As per her orders, the servants and hidden assassins protecting her from the shadows, stopped following her.
Reinhardt got up from his seat and followed behind her, now certain of the topic that she wanted to talk about. Indeed, it was something that they needed to address and could not just leave it around like it was nothing.
Especially when they are living together in this household.
"Iām sure you already know why I called you here?"
Reinhardt nodded his head.
"The things that happened that day," Verdia cluthed her clothes, her head down "What do you think of it?"...
He thought for a moment, pondering over her question before answering "It was a foolish act. I might have been acting to help you in mind, but due to my weakness, I allowed this mistake to happen. Iām sure a simple apology wonāt suffice after I have done. In that case, Iām ready to do whatever you want me to".
He cannot just put all the blame on his skill. It was indeed true that he had some impure thoughts about Verdia in his mind.
He thought that she would denounce him and force him to step down from the position of the successor. What he didnāt expect was to see her sad. Or was it his imagination?
"So thatās what you think of it, huh. Never mind, I cannot just punish you alone; it was my fault too. I let myself fall that far. However, I for one donāt think that it was mistake."
Having finished saying her piece, she turned around and left.
Reinhardt looked at her departing back before arching his head in confusion.
"What did she mean by that?"
.
.
While pondering over Verdiaās words, Reinhardt walked through the corridor, when suddenly he found his steps leading towards the bathhouse accidentally.
At this moment, Priest Robās wife was using the facility. As could be seen from the maid waiting in the passage. As there was more than one tub in their bathhouse, if he wanted to, he could go to a different one.
That said, since a guest was using it right now, it would seem inappropriate for him to go there now, even if he was planning on using a different bath.
Reinhardt turned around and was just about to leave when Miranda came out from the bathhouse and spotted him.
"Oh my, does young master also want to take a bath?" She took the towel from the maid and wrapped it around her hair.
Draped in a robe that was loosely tied and steam coming off her now rosy and aromatic body, she looked extremely erotic.
"Thatās not the case. I was just walking by"...
"Hmm..." She leaned closer and whispered words that only he could hear, "Donāt be so distant. You could come in if you wanted to, you know... fufu".
She meant that he could use the other bath right... or so he convinced himself.
"Itās almost dinner time. Letās head over to the dining room."
Dispersing the dangerous thoughts, he led her towards the dining room.
"Oh, so you were with lord Reinhardt, Miranda?" Rob and everyone else were already present in the dining hall by the time they arrived.
"Well, you can say that. Anyways, this feast is too much, Lord Raymond".
The feast that was prepared lined up the table and showed the culinary skills of the chef working in the household.
"Haha, please eat to your heartās content. Me and Rob go a long way, so itās just my way of welcoming him".
While having over dinner, they exchanged some light conversation. Reinhardt suddenly recalled something and couldnāt help but ask.
"By the way, priest Rob, how goes the work back in the church?"
From the reports he received from the knights of his order, he recalled that the church was in the midst of expanding itself.
"Yeah... that, since the members increased, we had to rebuild the church. We recently acquired the empty land behind us. I am planning on also expanding the Orphanage there".
Reinhardt narrowed his eyes "About that, can I visit the orphanage sometime?"...
"Sure, lord Reinhardt can visit whenever he wants. In fact, it would be good if you could find some worthy prospects like last time. I was worried since you havenāt visited us even once after waking up. Now I can be worry free."
The two of them shared a laugh. Suddenly, Reinhardt felt a poke on his leg. Something was prodding him.
Lifting the cloth, he saw that it was actually Mirandaās foot. She was prodding him with her leg. What was she trying to accomplish?
Above the table, she was sharing light conversation with Verdia and everyone, with nobody realising what was going on under the table.
"Thatās right, Verdia, havenāt you been telling me that you wanted to go around the town for some shopping? How about you go with Miss Miranda tomorrow?"...
"Iām fine with it. It would be exciting shopping with Lady Verdia"...
"Alright, but wonāt there be a commotion if the guards follow me around in the market?"
Being the Duchess of this territory, she was protected by numerous guards and knights. If they follow her around in the market, it would spoil the experience. That said, a duchess cannot just move alone on her own; there is too much risk.
"If that is the case, how about young master Reinhardt come with us. With him around, there would be no need to bring along any guards" Miranda suddenly proposed.
In the territory or even the whole kingdom, there was no one who did not know Reinhardtās strength and valor. Having him around was like having hundreds of knights protecting you.
"How about it, son?" Raymond looked at his son.
The latter nodded his head. In any case, he needed to go to the city to investigate something anyways. Escorting the two ladies around was no problem.
