Chapter 1589: Male Lead? Found!

Chapter 1589: Chapter 1589: Male Lead? Found!

At this moment, Jian Dan, who was shopping, received a call from Chu Liyuan. "Uncle, it’s not even evening yet? Calling me because you miss me?" Jian Dan’s face was full of sweetness.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder; it seems there’s some truth to that.

"What are you up to?" Chu Liyuan’s magnetic voice instantly made Jian Dan captivated.

"I’m shopping!" Jian Dan opened up without hiding anything.

"Still able to shop? It seems the film shoot isn’t that busy!"

"Of course it’s busy, but the shoot hasn’t started yet."

"Wasn’t it supposed to start today?"

"That’s right, but there was a tiny hiccup in the middle. No worries, I’ll handle it."

"Okay! Call me if there’s anything." Chu Liyuan’s tone was full of affection.

Jian Jian could handle things herself, and he always refrained from interfering, knowing he’d always be there to back her up.

"Alright, I need to get to a meeting. Let’s chat when I get back tonight."

"Oh! Okay! Bye, Uncle, muah!"

After hanging up, Jian Dan noticed Chu Jiahang beside her looking a bit overwhelmed. "Sorry about that!"

"It’s fine, something to get used to.

Don’t worry, Jiahang. I believe soon you’ll be as unfazed as I am." Qin Rou patted Chu Jiahang’s shoulder comfortingly.

"By the way, when I was on the call, I saw you took a piece of clothing that suits you well. Why did you put it back?"

"I have enough clothes," Chu Jiahang said, though he disguised it well, but Jian Dan still caught a slight flaw.

"Is that really the reason? As a celebrity, when would you have enough clothes?"

"Nothing escapes my sister. That piece was too expensive. I’ll buy it when I can afford it in the future."

"No worries, I’ll get it for you!"

"How could I accept such an expensive gift from you, sister?"

"Why not, consider it my gift to recognize you as my brother."

"But..."

"No refusals, okay? It’s not like I’m giving it for free. When you become famous and make money, won’t you buy things for your sister?"

"Of course!" Chu Jiahang quickly replied.

"Then it’s settled.

So, looking at it that way, it’s not spending money; it’s an investment!"

While checking out, Jian Dan’s phone rang again.

Seeing it was an unknown number, she had a guess in her mind and hung up without hesitation.

After paying, they went off for a big meal together.

During the meal, the same number kept calling her persistently.

"Sister, why don’t you answer your phone?" Chu Jiahang, who had been curious, couldn’t help but ask.

"Seems they’re anxious?" Qin Rou also paused her chopsticks, speaking with a smile.

"If they’re anxious, I’m not. They can wait; I haven’t finished my meal yet." Jian Dan said leisurely while slowly enjoying her food.

Finally, after all of Jian Dan’s procrastination, the three of them returned to the filming location.

Just after parking, before she could open the car door, someone opened it from outside.

Just how urgent was it?

"Aren’t you the one who can’t stand me? Why are you opening the car door for me now?" Jian Dan raised an eyebrow, her eyes showing clear provocation.

"You’re only this arrogant because Director Yorickson insists on having you, aren’t you?" Li Ke said through gritted teeth.

"Haha~" Jian Dan covered her mouth and chuckled. "Seems you still haven’t learned your lesson. Well, I can’t help with that." Jian Dan shrugged and waved to Yorickson, who was slowly walking toward her.

"Director Yorickson." Li Ke greeted Yorickson first.

But Yorickson ignored him and walked straight to Jian Dan. "You went too far. I already agreed, so how could you just leave?"

"I didn’t leave; I just went out shopping for a while." Jian Dan didn’t show any sign that she thought she was wrong.

"Glad you’re back, but we’ll have to start shooting tomorrow." Yorickson shrugged.

"I think the male lead doesn’t quite fit!" Jian Dan spoke coldly, her eyes sharply looking at Li Ke behind her.

"This...

But time is tight, and finding a replacement will take a lot of time." Yorickson spoke somewhat troubled.

"No need, I’ve already found someone for you. Take a look yourself?" Jian Dan pulled Chu Jiahang to her side...
