The arrow that was stuck in the back of the kid was familiar to Simon.
It was the arrow of the archer in the Odrasilās group.
āCould it be the same Irkalla?ā
Simon wondered as the image of the demon with a third eye in its forehead.
Simon observed the unconscious kid once again, then he noticed the dark green veins on his back where the arrow was lodged.
āPoison.ā
He frowned, and after thinking about it for a moment, he crouched and pulled the arrow out of the demonās back.
Unfortunately for the boy, he didnāt have any healing skills, and he didnāt recognize any useful plant nearby that could help the boy.
He raised the boy and slapped him multiple times to wake him up.
"Hey. Wake up."
The boyās fluttered open, then he groggily looked at Simon.
"Hey. Was it an Irkalla that did this to you?"
"Hmm?" The boy groggily replied, and Simon clicked his tongue.
āIs the poison getting to him? My knowledge on poisons and medicine is low because I didnāt need it in my past life. My regeneration skill was more than enough to heal even a severed arm or the deadly necrotic poison of the Demon King of Death.ā
āIf his bloodline is strong enough, he should be able to recover from the poison and naturally heal himself.ā
āCompared to humans, demons can naturally heal their injuries at a much faster rate. And the better the bloodline, the faster a demon is able to heal their injuries.ā
āI donāt know what his bloodline is, but if itās a Noble bloodline, then he might be able to naturally heal himself... But itāll just take time.ā
āAnd time is something I donāt have. I canāt wait for him to get better before I get what I need from him.ā
PA!
Simon slapped the boy harder, and the boy instantly shook his head.
"Huh? What? What?"
The boy looked around with an utterly baffled expression, then he noticed Simon standing in front of him.
"What? Did I fall unconscious? Did you slap me awake?" The boy asked with an incredulous expression, but Simonās expression was one of indifference.
"Who did that to you? Was it an Irkalla?" He gestured at the arrow on the ground, and the boy glanced at the arrow on the ground.
The moment the boy saw the arrow, he suddenly recalled that he had been poisoned and injured, and his body reacted instantly.
Cough!
Cough!
He coughed out a mouthful of black blood, and his expression became pale.
However, his condition was a lot better.
Simon raised a brow when he saw this.
āHis bloodline must be of a high grade and rank if his body can remove the poison of an Irkalla so quickly.ā
"Argh. Damn it. So bitter." The boy wiped away the blood on his mouth with a disgusted expression.
He then looked at Simon with slightly narrowed eyes.
"Who the hell are you? How are you so strong as a Superior Lesser Demon? And what are those things on your arm? Theyāre definitely not clothes."
Simonās expression became cold. "Iām the one asking questions here. Not you."
The boyās right eye twitched. "Damn it. How could I lose to a Lesser Demon even if I was injured?"
āMy family would kill me if they ever found out... Especially brother.ā
Simon was beginning to get annoyed, then he gestured at the arrow on the ground once again.
"For the last time, who did that to you?"
The boy looked at the arrow, then he looked at Simon.
"An Irkalla just like you said. The bastard ambushed me with like twenty other bastards. I killed some, but I had to run away because they were too many."
Simon frowned slightly.
āThe Odrasil must be behind it.ā
"Where did they attack you? And do you by chance know where a candidate is? An Odrasil to be specific."
The boy shook his head.
"Iāve not seen the Odrasil in this second trial. As for where they attacked me, itās in that direction."
The boy pointed to the right, and Simon looked in that direction with a slight narrow of his eyes.
"Alright."
He stood, and was about to leave, but the boy quickly spoke with a surprised expression.
"Huhhh... Are you planning on going there?"
"Yes. Is there a problem?" Simon looked at the boy with a raised brow.
"You want to fight a group of at least ten people, all on your own?" The boy asked with a surprised expression.
āItās going to be a lot more than ten, kid.ā
Simon thought, then he replied the boy.
"Yeah."
"Crazy bastard." The boy mumbled underneath his breath, and Simon raised a brow but he didnāt say anything and walked away.
"Ah. Wait. Wait." The boy called out again, and Simon was beginning to get irritated.
"What?"
"You should know that thereās a Dread Beast where youāre going." The boy said with a solemn tone and expression.
"What?" Simon was stunned.
The boy remained silent, and Simon narrowed his eyes at him.
"You said they ambushed you. Did they ambush you while you were fighting the Dread Beast?"
The boy slowly nodded his head, and Simon blinked in surprise.
"You were fighting a Dread Beast... alone?"
The boy nodded again, and Simon was immensely surprised.
āHeās a Supreme Fiend who is close to becoming an Archfiend. But since I defeated him easily, how is he able to battle a Dread Beast? Whatās going on?ā
This time around, it was his turn to ask the boy the question...
"Who are you?"
The boy smiled. "Iām Thorgan, an orphan. No affiliation, no family."
Simonās gaze flickered with surprise. He didnāt expect such. "An orphan?"
Thorgan nodded. "Itās quite normal and common too. The Shadowgrave Clan usually takes in orphans and demons who have no home or family."
Simon did not find this strange with an assassin clan. Even on Earth, it was a norm for an organization of assassins to pick orphans and children with no homes or family to join their clan.
"Then how are you able to battle a Dread Beast? You seem... weak."
Thorganās lips twitched. "I was just taken by surprise when you attacked me. Iām not weak."
Simon raised an amused brow, and Thorganās lips twitched in anger once again.
"You still havenāt answered my question though. How are you able to battle a Dread Beast?"
"Maybe itās because I have a royal bloodline?"
