"Who are the Iron Fangs? How many members are part of that group? How strong are they? And who is the strongest person in the group? Do they have any powerful backing?"
Radan frowned at Simonâs questions, and in the next second, he scoffed.
"And why should I answer your questions after threatening me?"
Simon expected this, and his lips curled up slightly. He nonchalantly shrugged.
"Who knows? Maybe I might do something foolish that would give you the opportunity to arrest me and punish me more than this. Committing a second offense in less than a week cannot be ignored."
"Bullshit." Radan immediately spat with anger in his eyes. "If anythingâs going to happen between you and the Iron Fangs, itâs happening outside the academy. The laws of the academy have no power outside the walls and gates of the academy."
Simon chuckled with a light smile behind his mask.
"Oh. You got me. I thought youâd be fooled by that."
Radanâs left eye twitched in anger.
What did Simon take him for?
A fool.
"Since you have nothing else to say, then letâs go. Iâll take you to where youâll pay your fine and you can leave."
Simon shook his head and waved his right index finger.
"Not yet."
"What?" Radan frowned.
"Tell me what I want to know, or Iâll make sure a deep and thorough investigation is done on you. Every skeleton you have in your cupboard would be unveiled, and I donât mind being in serious debt to this."
"What?!"
This time around, Radan could not help but jump in anger.
Bam!
He slammed his hands on the table, his eyes spewing flames of anger as he glared at Simon.
"You threatened me the first time, and I peacefully allowed you to pay a hundred and fifty merits as fine for your crimes. Now, youâre threatening me because I refused to give you the information you need?"
Simon calmly nodded with an indifferent gaze.
"Exactly."
Radan gritted his teeth in anger.
"What do you take me for? Youâre just a fucking slave and a Lesser Demon. I can kill you right here, right now!"
Despite the fact that Radanâs Supreme Archfiend aura backed by his fury filled the room, Simonâs gaze was completely calm and undisturbed.
"You cannot kill me because itâs against the rules. A Shadow Enforcer killing a student, especially a First Year would be punishable by death. And thatâs even with the fact that Iâm a slave. I am handcuffed, I am a Lesser Demon, and itâs obvious that Iâm not a threat to you, so you would be killed if you killed me... Though, if you were an Inquisitor, that would be a different case. But-"
BAM!
A fist landed on Simonâs face, nearly separating his head from his neck.
Blood flew and splattered in Simonâs mask, staining his entire face as his head was flung to the side.
"You think youâre a smart ass huh?"
Radan slowly and calmly folded his sleeves with a cold expression. His eyes reflecting the sight of Simonâs head hung low and blood dripping on the ground from the bottom of his mask.
Radanâs eyes flashed with a dangerous and cruel light.
"Iâve told you before, youâre just a slave. Even if I cannot kill you, I can badly rough you up and say that itâs because you refused to cooperate during the interrogation. Do not think, you can control me as you wish, slave."
Radan took a step forward, and in that moment, Simon began to laugh.
"Hahahahaha!"
Radan frowned deeply, and took a step back in caution.
"Radan you fool, donât you know that you roughing me up gives me more evidence to use against you? If you donât do as I say and give me what I want, I promise you that the moment I step out of this building, I am going to report you to the Inner Council."
"And if you think that the Inner Council is foolish enough to not put together the pieces, then I donât mind adding that to the report."
"Youâre just a low ranking Interrogator, and Iâm sure you can be easily disposed of and replaced by the higher ups. Donât do something foolish, Radan."
Veins of anger and frustration bulged on Radanâs neck and arms as he glared at Simon, wishing to end his life, right here and now.
Simon raised his mask, then he spat out the blood in his mouth on the ground.
"See, just give me the information I need on the Iron Fangs, and this can all end. We can let bygones be bygones."
Radan inhaled and exhaled deeply in fury and anger. Everything in him wanted to kill Simon in the most painful way possible, but he couldnât.
He hated the fact that Simon knew so much about the academyâs system.
A low percentage of the total students in the academy knew about the existence of the Inner Council.
Not even all the Third Years knew about the Inner Council after spending three years in the academy, and some even believed that the Shadow Enforcers were all powerful and could do anything they wanted in the academy.
He and some of his colleagues had used this ignorance to their advantage so many times, and even if those who had been unfairly punished or taken advantage of, later realized after some time. There was nothing they could do because it was too late.
What pissed off Radan the most was that Simon was not only a slave, he was First Year Initiate.
And this was his FIRST DAY in the academy.
How many people can proudly say that they knew so much about the rules and regulations of their academy on the first day of school?
Radan did not expect this.
Radan hated this.
But for Simon, he was utterly and absolutely relieved that he chose to read the rules and regulations of the clan and the academy before today.
If not, he would be ignorant and his life would be more miserable than it currently was.
Some seconds later, Radan spoke with gritted teeth.
"Fine. Iâll tell you what you need to know."
Simon smiled lightly behind his mask. "Great."
