{A/N: For better clarity, when Simon and Lilith are conversing using mental transmission, Iâll use [...] from now on.}
----
What Simon was worried about came true, and he knew that things could take a weird turn from here on out.
[Are you worried about the bones you have in your spatial ring?]
Lilithâs words instantly hit the spot, and Simon froze for a moment before he continued moving.
[If youâre angry about how I handled the bones of your father without-]
Before he could even finish his words, Lilith instantly cut him off.
[Hold up right there. Who told you those were my fatherâs bones?]
Simon was instantly stunned. He remained rooted on the spot, and Lilith clicked her tongue.
[Those are not my fatherâs bones, Blackmoon. If they were, then I promise you that this Shadowgrave Clan would not be peacefully living in this place.]
Simonâs eyes flickered, then he got a hold of himself and kept on walking.
[So, is your dad still alive?] He asked cautiously, and to his surprise, Lilith remained silent for nearly a minute.
âI guess itâs a sensitive topic for her... Maybe heâs dead.â
As soon as he had this thought, Lilith finally spoke.
[I donât know if heâs still alive.]
That was all she said, and Simon knew not to speak further on the subject. He decided to ask another question.
[Since those were not your fatherâs bones, whatâs the identity behind the owner of those bones?]
[I donât know. I was never interested in him because he was not a Daemon. He found my fatherâs spatial ring out of pure luck, but the Chaos Wraps and the Chaos Blade did not respond to him because he was not a Daemon.]
[However, he tried to master the techniques of my father, but he failed. His talent in the way of the sword was not bad, but my father was the Sword Daemon of Hell, the talent one would need to completely learn and master my Fatherâs sword techniques would have to defy the heavens.]
[The demon also read about my fatherâs teachings on the Chaos Plane, but like I said, he was a demon, and only Daemons could truly inherit all these things my father left behind.]
[I remember him lamenting at how everything was unfair because he was not a Daemon and he never found a way to transform his demon bloodline into a Daemon bloodline. It was such a sorry sight and I almost felt a little bit of pity for him.]
Simon listened with rapt attention, and he had several questions.
A large portion of his mind were on Lilithâs words, while the remaining were on his surroundings.
[Do you know the name of the demon? And how powerful was he?]
[He was called Ghost Sword Emperor after using a diluted version of my fatherâs techniques to slay thousands of enemies. As for his realm... he was a Demon King before he died. Unfortunately for him, he could not ascend and become a Demon God.]
This was within Simonâs calculations, and he was not surprised when he heard that the Ghost Sword Emperor was a Demon King.
However, it also brought about a series of more questions for him. Questions he couldnât ask Lilith because it would expose the fact that he was a reincarnator.
âIn my past life, the Demon King of Death was the only demon king, but there were a lot of Demon Lords who were not part of a kingdom or a clan. They traversed the demon realm on their own, so I guess after my death and after the appearance of hell stones and hell holes, there are more Demon Kings than what people know.â
âBut I should try and look for records of this Ghost Sword Emperor. Since he was given the title Ghost Sword Emperor, it means he was seen as one of the very best swordsmen amongst demons. The clan might have records of him.â
Simon inhaled softly, then he exhaled, deciding to shift his thoughts toward other questions he could ask Lilith.
[So, can you tell me about hell? About your father? About what the Chaos Sword and Chaos Wraps truly are and their main purpose? About yourself? About a lot of things in general honestly. It would help.]
Unsurprisingly to Simon, Lilithâs response was...
[No.]
He replied calmly. [Why?]
[Because youâre still too weak and youâve not proven yourself to me. I have to watch you and observe you, while making sure that youâre suitable to accomplish my fatherâs goals.]
âYeah. I can see that both of us are going to have a few issues concerning that. I donât really care about your fatherâs goals, Lilith. I have mine, and like I said in the past, Iâm not carrying any fate that was forced on me by a daemon I know nothing of.â
Although Simon had this thought, he would never say them out loud.
[What if Iâm not good enough in your eyes?]
[Iâll kill you or I just let you live out your life without assisting you in anyway possible. With time, youâll at best become a Demon King, then youâll die... Just like that demon called Ghost Sword Emperor.]
Simonâs eyes flashed with a sharp and cold light for a moment, but it receded as quickly as it came.
[And to be honest... I have little faith that youâd be good enough because of how weak your Daemon bloodline is. And your Daemon bloodline is also that of a beast.]
Simon raised a brow.
[Is there a problem with me having a Daemon Beast bloodline?]
[No. Not really. Itâs just that beasts are usually seen as lesser creatures everywhere, and their body parts are usually used as ingredients to get more power. It would have been better if you awakened your second bloodline into a Daemon bloodline.]
[This is just my preference. It doesnât mean itâll affect you in any way.]
Simon remained silent for a moment as he pondered in contemplation, then he spoke.
[Do you by chance know how to evolve my demon bloodline into a daemon bloodline?]
[Yes, I do.]
