Lilith had a stunned expression when she heard Simonās words and conviction.
They both did not fear death, but at some points, their paths became different.
She was not willing to stoop so low or to any point just to live and avoid death.
She had her pride, and after watching her mother valiantly charge toward death in the past, she believed that when one did not truly fear death, they were not going to fight against it.
When one did not fear death, they were willing to die for their beliefs.
They were not willing to do anything just to avoid death.
But Simon did not have such reservations.
From his words, she knew that Simon was willing to do anything to live.
He was not afraid of death, but he was also not afraid of taking a path that would allow him to avoid death or overcome it.
āThis man... What is his past? Who exactly is he?ā
Subconsciously, Lilith began to look at Simon in a new light. She believed that Simon must have been a reputable demon in the past.
Only if she knew that Simon was a hero in his past life, she would not have such thoughts.
"Your view of life and death is different from mine." She said while looking up.
Simon nodded. "Obviously. Itāll be strange if both of us have the same view of life and death."
"I guess so." Lilith said softly.
No words were spoken between the two of them for nearly a minute as both seemed to enjoy the peace and quiet between them.
Eventually, Simon spoke.
"You know that you didnāt actually answer me when I asked if you can fight for me."
Lilith glanced at Simon from the corner of her eye.
"I can, but just know that I will not use more energy than necessary since the more I fight, the slower my recovery rate... Also, I am not going to fight all your battles for you or any battle you tell me to fight, it depends on if I want to help you."
Simonās lips curled up slightly. "So, basically... youāre unreliable."
Lilith scoffed. "Same as you."
"TouchƩ." Simon smiled.
Lilith scoffed once again, then there was silence for a few seconds once again. Till Lilith broke the silence.
"Since itās understandable that youāre wary of me, I want to show you my sincerity when I say that I mean you no harm."
Simon looked at her with intrigue.
"How?"
Lilith looked at him with a light smile.
"I plan on teaching you an ocular technique to add to your Sky Eye, but Iām still sorting through my knowledge to know what exactly to teach you."
"Some techniques might damage your eyes instead of improving it."
Simonās eyes flashed with a tinge of anticipation and excitement.
He knew some ocular techniques from his past life, but many of them were for humans. For an extremely powerful being like Lilith, he could not help but wonder how powerful and unique the ocular techniques she had were.
Lilith could see the excitement in his eyes, and she could not help but smile.
"Also, I know the location of a dragonās lair in the demon realm."
This time around, Simonās eyes could not help but instantly widen in disbelief.
"A dragon?"
Lilith nodded with the same smile. "Yes. A dragon. When I was with the Ghost Sword Emperor, he was near the location of a dragonās lair, but unfortunately for him, he didnāt notice it."
"Because Iām a True Dragon hybrid and the dragon is just a demon and not a True Dragon, it was easy for me to sense."
Simon tilted his head slightly. "Why didnāt you tell him about the dragonās lair?"
Lilith nonchalantly shrugged. "Because he was not a Daemon and he could not use the Chaos Blade and the Chaos Wraps. Why should I assist somebody thatās of no use to me? And somebody thatās not worthy?"
"But couldnāt it have been possible that there was something in the dragonās lair that could help him to become a Daemon? Or something that could make him worthy?"
Lilith scoffed. "Even if there was, I wouldnāt have helped him. He was not worth it."
Simon could not help but feel a little bit of pity for the Ghost Sword Emperor.
He had been so close to gaining immense wealth and quite possibly, power, but he had missed out on it just because Lilith believed that he was not worth it.
āI spent over six decades in my past life not hearing a single thing about dragons, but now Iām talking to a True Dragon hybrid and I might be able to get a dragonās blood.ā
āThis might not be so bad after all.ā
Snap
Snap
Lilith suddenly snapped her fingers in front of Simonās face, and Simon looked at her with a slight frown.
"What?"
Lilith shook her head. "Donāt think Iām giving you the location of the dragonās lair for free. I want something in exchange for it."
Simonās frown deepened. "What?"
"Kill three demons who are related to the Soul Daemon, and use the Chaos Blade to kill them. Once you do that, Iāll give you the location of the dragonās lair. And oh, they must be Supreme Archfiends at the very least."
Simonās lips twitched. "You know as well as I do that demons of the soul path are very rare and not easy to find."
Lilith nodded. "And so are dragon lairs."
Simon could not retort that statement because it was very true.
Dragons were literally extinct or extremely reclusive and difficult to find. He never encountered in his past life, and no dragon lair was ever discovered.
If the demon realm was still the same and things had not changed too much, he knew the locations of some demons who treaded the soul path, but getting there in his current situation was the problem.
"I hope you know that even though a dragon is not a Daemon, itās still an extremely powerful demon specie. And a dragonās lair usually has a lot of wealth."
"Me asking you to kill at least three Supreme Archfiends of the soul path is nothing compared to the rarity of a dragonās lair."
"Iāll give you the ocular technique for free, but the location of the dragonās lair is not for free."
Simonās expression changed slightly, then he released a soft sigh.
"Fine. Letās see what the future holds."
Lilith smiled charmingly. "Itāll surely be beautiful."
Simon was a little bit stunned by her charming smile, but he regained his composure very quickly.
"By the way, why are dragons extinct?"
Lilith was about to speak, but she looked to the front with a slight raise of her brow.
"Hmm. Seems you have company."
Simon raised a brow, then he followed Lilithās sight and saw Jorra and Merath walking toward them.
