Chapter 357: Chapter 357: Luck Off the Charts
Vera Xavier thought of Nathaniel Nathanās domineering and arrogant demeanor from her past life. āWith his capabilities, he would never let something like this happen. After all, with his overwhelming power so evident, probably no one would dare to provoke him.ā
āAnd now that Iāve been reborn, I have to become even stronger. I still have so many things to do.ā
āIām not interested in returning to the Caldwell Family; I havenāt even considered it. But even so, I have to tear off Susan Caldwellās pretty facade. Even if I donāt want the title of the Caldwell heiress, I absolutely will not let Susan just keep it!ā
After composing herself, she began to systematically shop for raw stones. Although she was a complete novice at jade gambling, she possessed an astonishing memory. She didnāt need to make any notes; a single glance was enough for her to remember which shops she had visited and the quality of the raw stones they held.
In addition to her astonishing memory, she also possessed an awe-inspiring aptitude for calculation.
With all this data stored in her mind, she had already formulated the optimal purchasing strategy.
Jack Judd and Aaron Cheney followed behind her. When they saw her wander from shop to shop, only looking but never making a move to buy anything, they began to grow anxious.
Jack Judd lightly nudged Aaron Cheney with his elbow. "Say, if the bossās lady just keeps looking without buying, you think sheās gonna lose?"
"I donāt think so!" Aaron Cheney had been quite confident in Vera Xavier before, but after following her for so long without seeing her make a single move, he couldnāt discern any professional knowledge of jade gambling from her. He was starting to feel a bit uneasy himself.

Jack Judd pouted. "What if we lose?"
The corner of Aaron Cheneyās mouth curled up. "If we really lose, the solution is simple. Werenāt you always going on about how loyal you are to the bossās lady? Nowās your time to prove it!"
The moment Jack Judd thought about eating stones, he felt a shiver down his spine. āEating that many stones would kill a person, you know!ā
He glared at Aaron Cheney. "Why donāt *you* eat them?"
"Because the boss ordered me to take good care of his lady." Aaron Cheney looked at him with contempt and asked, "Did the boss give *you* that order?"
Jack Judd shook his head dejectedly. Aaron Cheney grinned. "Well, there you have it. Nothing can happen to the bossās lady, and Iām the one taking care of her. So if something really goes wrong, youāll just have to be the sacrifice."
Jack Judd reached out and smacked him on the head, only to realize with dismay that he couldnāt think of a comeback.
Aaron Cheney didnāt get mad about the smack. He just grinned cheekily at Jack Judd.
Vera Xavier overheard them and said simply, "Weāre not going to lose."
Neither Jack Judd nor Aaron Cheney found this very convincing, but they were on her side, so of course they wouldnāt say anything to discourage her. They both put on a show of encouragement for Vera Xavier. "The bossās lady is right! We wonāt lose!"
Vera Xavier could tell from their expressions that they didnāt believe her, but she didnāt bother to explain. She just smiled.
She finished inspecting the row of shops, having already spotted several valuable pieces of jade. However, none of them were of the Emperor Green grade. She finally understood why Emperor Green was so expensive. Buying that raw stone with Emperor Green last time must have been a stroke of unbelievable luck.
Most of the shops at the front sold high-quality raw stones with python patterns. Those were not an option for her, as at a hundred thousand apiece, she could only afford three to five of them, which didnāt fit her budget.
