"Catch her, she keeps ruining my plans, itās getting bloody annoying!"
Yang Chuxia looked at him sarcastically, not bothering to reply. She took another arrow from the quiver, loaded it onto her small crossbow, and fired at the priest.
"Quickly, catch her for me, I like them young and tender." The priest, obviously a coward, hid behind his two men when he saw the arrow coming towards him.
Upon hearing this, Yang Chuxiaās face darkened by half. She noticed that the priestās trousers werenāt even pulled up properly, and she didnāt know if it was intentional or not, but his private parts were exposed, which was utterly disgusting.
She wanted to cripple him, but she was a step too slow. An arrow, no, seven arrows shot at the group of men before she could.
Turning her head, she saw Ye Ziāan standing at the door with a sleeve arrow in one hand and a small crossbow in the other, coldly staring at the priest.
Taking advantage of this, she threw away the arrow in her hand, picked up a large wooden stick from the side, and charged at the group of men. As she advanced, Ye Ziāan coordinated with her, rapidly firing crossbow arrows, their teamwork seamless.
In no time at all, the men were all taken down. The priest, sensing that things werenāt going his way, turned and ran.
Yang Chuxia chased after him, with Ye Ziāan following at a slower pace, taking the largest strides he could.
However, as Yang Chuxia chased the priest, he suddenly disappeared in the back courtyard.
At this point, Uncle Niu came in from the back door, covered in blood.
"Did you run into people back there too?"
Uncle Niu nodded in response, "Three of them."
"There must be a secret passage here. Letās look for it; the thief disappeared in the harem."
Hearing this, the three of them began searching.
On both sides of the harem were a few empty rooms. The back door was at the far end, and Uncle Niu had just come in from there. The fugitive couldnāt have escaped that way. With doors and walls missing, the empty rooms were easily visible, increasing the likelihood of a secret passage.
Itās not like the fat thief could have just flown away.
"Xiaxia, come take a look!" Uncle Niu and Yang Chuxia were searching the rooms for secret entrances or mechanisms, while Ye Ziāan was searching the courtyard.
"Whatās up?" Ye Ziāan was currently digging near the dried-up well.
"The soil here seems loose."
Yang Chuxia looked down and saw that the soil was indeed loose. She then looked into the well and saw that it was dried up.
At this point, Ye Ziāan had already moved away the soil on one side, revealing a wooden plank. Yang Chuxia tried moving it, and it easily opened up, revealing a hole with a faint glimpse of stairs.
Yang Chuxia was about to go down when Ye Ziāan said, "Iāll go!"
"No!" Yang Chuxia refused without even thinking.
Having heard the voices of the two, Uncle Niu said, "Iāll go first, you two follow."
Without wasting any breath, he went down. Ye Ziāan followed him closely, and Yang Chuxia had no choice but to follow as well. She was initially concerned about Ye Ziāanās legs, but he turned out to be steady, not tripping at all as they descended the stairs.
Once they were down, Ye Ziāan took out a firestarter from his sleeve and lit it. In the light, Yang Chuxia saw that it was a long corridor.
