Yang Chuxia looked at her sons beside her, both little guys had curiosity in their eyes, and she hesitated. Would it be okay to stay? The children were young, and if they didnāt know any better and offended him, it could be disastrous.
"What are you worried about, Ye Familyās Ye Ziāan? I donāt eat people." Seeing that she remained standing without letting go, the Emperor spoke again.
"No, no, the children being able to keep Uncle company is their honor." Yang Chuxia was sweating bullets on the inside, truly an Emperor, his ability to see through peopleās hearts is unmatched. "Lele and Yangyang, quickly go and greet Uncle."
Upon hearing their mother speak, Yangyang looked up, his large eyes twinkling with a somewhat odd light.
It was Lele, however, whose mind was racing, trying to guess who this person was that could make their dad and mom so wary, and even Uncle Shaoling was so respectful.
"Hello, Uncle!"
"Hello, Uncle!"
"Good, good, come and play with Grandpa, little ones. Let your parents go and prepare something to eat for us." That last sentence was clearly meant to send them off.
Once Yang Chuxia and the others had left, the Emperorās guards entered the house, there to protect the Emperor at all times.
Yang Chuxia went to the kitchen herself to supervise the food preparations. These were for the Emperor to eat, and she had to personally check them, as if something were to happen to His Majesty at the Ye Family, it would be a crime implicating the nine familial exterminations.
As for Dongyang, he went to rest in the guest room.
Ye Ziāan and Mu Shaoling then headed to the study in the front building.
"Whatās going on?" Once they reached the front building, Ye Ziāan asked, "Why has he come?"
"Who am I supposed to ask if you ask me? Donāt you know why heās here?" Mu Shaoling looked at him with puzzlement. Were he and the Emperor so close? Close enough to let the Emperor come all this way personally?
Even his Mu Residence had only had the Emperor visit once, and that had been during his own wedding.
"How could I possibly know?" Ye Ziāan thought that he was completely baffled, especially with this sudden appearance; it was quite frightening.
Seeing that he didnāt seem to be lying, Mu Shaoling became a bit curious. What exactly was this important person here for?
While he was pondering, so was Ye Ziāan, but neither had any clue.
However, the very important person they were guessing about was currently lounging in a chair, playing with the two little ones, while also thinking to himself that those two fools must be wondering why he had come here. Hmph, just to torment them with curiosity.
"Lele, I heard you can recite the entire Three Character Classic? Can you recite a section for Uncle to hear?" If Ye Ziāan walked in, it would be unimaginable that this person, lounging in the chair with one foot on the stool, looking like a local tyrant, was the supreme ruler of Great Zhou.
"Uncle, how do you know that I can recite the entire book?" Lele asked with some confusion.
"Your dad told me."
Yangyang bluntly said, "Uncle is lying!" But as soon as he finished his words, Lele covered his mouth, and scolded him, "Little brother, donāt talk nonsense."
The Emperor blinked, his gaze sweeping back and forth over the two little guys, and saw Lele break out in sweat.
"Do you know who I am?" The Emperor, seeing him still covering Yangyangās mouth, spoke again, "First let the little one go, then Iāll ask him how I am lying to you?"
Lele gave Yangyang a warning look and then let him go.
Intimidated by his brotherās look, Yangyang puffed out his cheeks before saying, "I havenāt even seen you in Mianyang, so it couldnāt have been my dad who said it. Plus, dad said that we need to be low-key, and even though brother is amazing, dad wonāt let us talk about it, so how could he have said it himself?"
