"Alright, mother makes sense, Iāll go write."
Upon hearing him say that, Yang Chuxia knew he understood.
"Good boy, off you go."
Seeing him bow his head, ready to go upstairs, Yang Chuxia couldnāt help but smile, having found the simplest way to handle this little rascal.
But her smile was caught full-on by Yangyang as he turned his head back.
"Mother, youāre tricking me, arenāt you?"
Seeing him stop and stand still, Yang Chuxia raised her eyebrows, "Son, first of all, mother has naturally not deceived you. Secondly, even if mother did trick you, you still need to go and write. If you donāt practice your writing properly, are you asking for a spanking?"
The moment he saw his mother getting upset, Yangyang immediately said repeatedly, "Mother, Iām going to write right now, right this instant." As he turned around, he even patted his little chest, muttering, "Motherās change of face is so scary."
"Son, how many articles did your father ask you to copy? Not one less, you hear? I will check, and if I find youāve copied even one article less or written any of them carelessly, I wonāt go easy on you," she warned.
Yang Chuxia watched Yangyang on the stairs with a smile, and at her words, Yangyang was instantly stunned.
He had just planned to copy a few less. He was even prepared to say he got the count wrong, but how did his mother already know his plan?
He hurriedly pretended to wipe sweat from his forehead (though not a drop was there), "Mother, I will definitely complete the task, I wonāt let you and handsome dad down. Iām off to the study now."
After speaking, he ran up the stairs quickly, not lingering a moment longer.
Watching him go, Yang Chuxia chuckled. The boyās clear preference for martial over literary pursuits was too obvious. If she told him to practice horse stance now, he would dash off without a word, but ask him to copy a piece of text and heād dawdle and delay.
"What are you laughing at?" Ye Ziāan, who had just finished discussing business, saw her gazing at the stairs and laughing as he came back.
"Laughing at your youngest son. The boy has such a clear bias for martial pursuits over literary ones; heās so young yet already so set in his preferences."
Ye Ziāan felt quite content about this, chuckling, "As long as he likes it, thatās good. When he grows up, if he really wants to join the army, I wonāt stop him. Lele is clearly destined for a scholarly path. It will be good to have one of each, one civil and one military, to support each other in court."
"Donāt get ahead of yourself, thinking about them entering court as officials. Lele wants to be a teacher."
The kid had a very clear goal.
Ye Ziāan smiled and remained silent; some things were not for him to decide.

"Mother, are you going to town?" Early in the morning, Yangyang came out of the training room and ran up the stairs.
At that moment, Yang Chuxia had just finished washing up.
"How did you know?" She had only discussed this with Ye Ziāan the night before.
Staying at home all day with nothing else to do, she wanted to take the chance to go out more while she still could.
Yangyang just chuckled, "I overheard you talking in your room last night when I passed by."
"Mother, can I come with you?"
"Take you with us?" After thinking for a while, Yang Chuxia remembered Brother An telling her the previous night that they planned to have a coupleās outing. If they brought along a little stinker, wouldnāt it turn into a family expedition?
Recalling what he had overheard the night before, Yangyang suddenly exclaimed, "Mother, you and handsome dad arenāt planning to abandon me, are you?"
"Indeed, thatās the case!" Before Yang Chuxia could reply, Ye Ziāan emerged from the inner room. "I gave you your tasks for today last night; if you havenāt finished your work, you think you can join us to town?"
Yangyang immediately held his forehead, "Now I finally understand why you suddenly gave me extra homework. It was all to abandon me."
