Seeing that there wasnât anyone serving inside, he walked up to Yangyang and asked in a low voice, "I heard you want to leave the palace?"
"Do you have a problem with that?"
"Of course I donât. Iâd be more than happy if you left sooner."
"Then whatâs the point of you asking?"
The heir of Prince Le said mysteriously, "If I have a way to help you get out of the palace, would you take it?"
"What way do you have?" Yangyang actually wanted to say, what kind of idea could an idiot like you have?
"Of course I have a way. Just tell me if youâll leave or not."
"Of course Iâd leave, isnât it obvious?" Yangyang rolled his eyes at him irritably, "If it wasnât for your father being crazy and dragging me here, did you think I want to be here?"
The young heir was stunned for a moment, realizing it was indeed his fatherâs doing. Really, didnât he have a son of his own? Did he really have to take someone elseâs son? Thinking of that, the heir felt even more resentful.
"So, are you going to tell me or not?"
"Iâll tell you." Nodding, he whispered a few words into Yangyangâs ear, "How about it? Isnât this a good plan?"
"Itâs not so great," Yangyang replied, "You should find someone to stay in the room as a replacement for me."
"Thatâs easy, Iâll handle it."
"Deal."
After agreeing, the heir of Prince Le left, practically floating on air.
Yangyang hurried to tell the old eccentric about this plan.
"Really?" The old eccentric slapped his forehead, "Why didnât I think of that? That kid did inherit a bit of his fatherâs wits."
"Thatâs because youâre dumb," With a plan in place, Yangyang was obviously cheerful and plucked a flower petal to chew on.
"Get lost, Iâm still smarter than you," the old eccentric said, "Iâm telling you, he suggested we take the food delivery cart, so we should take the waste cart instead. That little rascal is crafty; if we follow his plan, who knows what awaits us outside."
"Fine, fine, weâll do it your way."
The next day, around 5:00 a.m and 7:00 a.m, the old man and the young boy quietly slipped out of Baohua Hall. While the waste collectors werenât looking, they put in a couple of already-prepared empty barrels and climbed inside.
Soon enough, they felt the cart begin to roll.
"Why is it so heavy today?" one of the men said, "These people in the palace just eat and drink all day, causing all this waste, damn it."
"There are two extra big barrels today, how could it not be heavy?" another person glanced at the cart and said.
"Enough talking, letâs get out of here, it reeks."
Soon, they arrived at the palace gate. The guards checked the two barrels as usual, then waved them through with a wrinkle of their noses.
Inside the barrel, Yangyang heard the sound of the gate opening and let out a sigh of relief, finally, they were getting out.
Midway, when the drivers stopped for a bathroom break, the old man and the young boy took the opportunity to climb out.
But after walking a little, they discovered several masked men ahead.
"Kill them!"
"Oh great!" Yangyang wiped the sweat off his forehead, "Are they here to put on a comedy show?"
The old man heard this, and immediately gave him a smack, "Itâs definitely that kidâs doing."
They had deceived the heir to avoid trouble and told him they would take the food delivery cart when in fact, they chose the waste cart. Who knew that kid had set up a contingency plan? They had underestimated him.
"Doesnât matter who sent them, hurry and get rid of them, old man," Yangyang pouted, "Youâre not his fatherâs match, surely you can handle his sonâs lackeys?"
