[Where.....oh.....where...where is this helpless young man!?]
The shout of the system filled my mind with teasing words.
âMe, itâs me, I am the poor helpless young man, who has lived through countless suffering for the betterment of the world, how can anyone ever stay truly angry at me?â
[Just when did laying down and sucking the tits of the Goddess of Life, become life threatening problems?]
âYou just donât see the truth, that is my reward for all the suffering I have been throughâ
[The suffering where you had all the future info, used it to your advantage and grew to be so OP, that even the word OP doesnât even fill your blanks! Where is the suffering!?]
â....â
âJust shut upâ
Shutting down the system I focused on what was more important, my family all around me feeling around with different complex emotions in all of them, as my mother spoke.
"You have your point, right now itâs impossible to push this woman away and if we canât do that, then we need to at least make sure we can use her for our profits"
I smiled lightly at the words of my mother, she seemingly seeing beyond the problems right now, of course the jealousy and hate inside her was burning brighter than ever but I could accept that for now as my mother seemingly started to see the other side.
"That is right, I thought a lot about this, and if we play our cards right, I can use her desire for affection for me and take things I want with control"
As I said these words, my body trembled a bit and a look of utter disgust filled my face, these emotions being directed towards myself and I made sure for my family to understand the fact that this whole thing is something I hate to do.
[Urgh...such bad acting]
Acting like the system doesnât exist I spoke.
"I donât like this much, for all the times she seemingly threw a tantrum to be with me, she is still a woman with feelings for me, trying to use her feelings for me like this makes me feel so dirty"
My words were filled with confusion as I melted into the seat, the whole situation around being quite hard to do, yes Scarlet was being a pain in the ass and yes I did act like I was ready to make her suffer because she threatened my family in a way but even then I canât go to show that this doesnât fill me with guilt.
âNow, letâs see this play outâ
As my eyes closed up, I leaned against the sofa, seemingly in tremble about what the hell I will do, a mix of wanting to do this but feeling too guilty to do it too, the whole atmosphere around me was contradictory, the whole situation just went around to show how much I care about them, here I am so good at heart but willing to do something against all my beliefs for them.
Cause if one was to look at this from another angle, isnât this something good for me?
Scarlet is absolutely beautiful and even powerful, which man will be able to even say no against her? in fact my love with Elda and Nora canât even come to light which makes it that being with Scarlet is the best opportunity for me, literally the whole thing will only be better for me, I could just accept this and everything would be better.
But I am not, because of my love and loyalty for them, which only makes their love seemingly bloat up again.
+200000 affection!
+200000 affection!
+200000 affection!
âStill nice to hearâ
So as I went through my struggle with my eyes âclosedâ, my senses picked up on the movements around me, the eye language being taken between my mother and my sister, they no doubt talking to each other through their own ways, the best thing about this action of mine is the fact that I wonât have to do anything much.
By showing my commitment and my pain, I have opened up the spot to the girls dealing with plans on their own in which I wonât have to get my hands dirty, of course I will have to do some actions of my own but it will show them how honest, kind and loving I truly am, a win win situation for me, thus I laid back, my body seemingly tired as I rested back and just like that I fell asleep, at least to their eyes I did.
....
Third Person POV:
As Austin fell asleep, a pin drop silence fell to the room, the eyes of Grace meeting her daughter Nora who looked back at her, their senses picking up the fact that Austin was already asleep.
"He must have been so tired"
Grace spoke with a warm smile as she softly touched the forehead and hair of Austin, feeling his warmth in her hands, she would always forget because of the way he would act and even handle her that this was still her young boy hidden behind everything, that was how he was made to be mature to survive his own life.
The thought only making her heart ache, yet she held back her pain for now, as her eyes landed on her daughters, Elda still seated on Austinâs lap, holding him tight as she looked at Austin, her eyes unblinking and quiet as she took in the sight of Austin, as a mother Grace could feel the sadness in her daughters too.
"We waited this long to see what Austin thinks and to get your answers, now that you have them, shouldnât we talk about how to make it all better for him?"
Graceâs words having a command to them as she spoke, to which Nora and Elda nodded their heads.
"But first letâs make sure he is comfortable"
Saying that, the three of them comfortably moved Austin to his bed, making sure he is in a good position of sleep as they left him there in silence, soon meeting up in a room as all of them looked at each other with a heavy expression.
"There are several things we should be focusing on, first making sure Scarlet doesnât find out the truth here, second getting closer to the dragon princess, and making Austin move in a way that wonât hurt him like itâs hurting him now"
Graceâs words being the main point here as Nora nodding her head spoke.
"That is right, we canât let Austin do all this, it will break him, itâs not something we can just make him bear, we need to also help him"
"Scarletâs weakness is clearâsheâs a dragon, yes, but more importantly, sheâs a woman in love. Or rather, a woman obsessed. Thatâs what we must use."
Nora tilted her head at Graceâs, smirking faintly. "Obsessions are predictable. If we feed it carefully, sheâll dance exactly how we want her to. Too much, sheâll snap. Too little, sheâll fight. Balance her string just right, and she wonât even realize sheâs being played."
Eldaâs lips tightened as she muttered, "She doesnât deserve him. Not her. Not with the way she looks at him, like heâs hers alone."
Grace reached out, placing a hand on Eldaâs clenched fists. "I know. But hear meâour goal is not to accept her, only to use her. Think. The world sees her at his side and hesitates. That buys us time. Time to grow stronger, time to make our own moves."
Nora leaned forward now, the calculating gleam in her eyes sharp as a blade. "Then we feed her enough hope to keep her loyal, but not enough to let her truly touch him. I can play that game. A few words here, a few pushes thereâmake her think sheâs gaining ground, when in reality, sheâs locked in place."
"And what if she notices?" Elda asked, her voice low, dangerous.
Graceâs smile was cold. "Then she learns why the world once feared our family. But until then, we let her cling to her delusion. Austin will not soil himself with this, so we will soil our hands for him."
Noraâs smirk deepened, but her eyes softened briefly as they drifted toward the closed door behind which Austin slept. "He looked so guilty when he spoke about using her feelings. He hates it. But if he wonât do it, we must. He thinks heâs sacrificing for usâlet him. Weâll carry the weight he doesnât want to admit exists."
Elda finally looked up, her soft eyes sharpened by a growing darkness. "Then let me be the one to watch her closest. Iâll stay at his side anyway, and she wonât suspect me. If she tries something, Iâll know. Iâll be the shield before she ever reaches him."
For a moment, silence again. Then Graceâs gaze swept over both her daughters, her voice firm and final.
"Then itâs decided. Nora, youâll control the flow of her emotionsâkeep her thinking sheâs winning when sheâs losing. Elda, youâll be the quiet blade, the one closest to her shadow. And I..." her lips curved into that old smile, one that once preceded blood on the battlefield, "Iâll prepare the net. When the time comes, Scarlet will either serve our cause or disappear from it entirely."
Nora chuckled under her breath. "She has no idea what sheâs walked into."
Elda simply nodded, her eyes still fixed toward the room where Austin lay, her voice a whisper that only the other two could hear.
"She wonât take him from us."
Grace rose to her feet, her presence filling the room, no longer a mother but a commander once more."Good. Then it begins. For Austin, for usâwe move now."
The three of them exchanged a look, silent but absolute, an unspoken pact forged in shadows and love. A pact not just to protect Austin from the world, but from himself, from the guilt that would eat him alive if he knew the lengths they were willing to go.
And so the night deepened.
