Bao Zhang let the carcass of the giant horned wolf fall with a thud, entering the clinic with Chu Yang and Lei Feng close behind.
"How is he?" he asked the old doctor, approaching Jun Hao, who seemed to be sleeping peacefully.
"Hm..." The old man scratched his gray beard before smiling. "Heâll live, he just needs a good weekâs rest."
Hearing the doctorâs words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Well... now why donât we discuss payment? Your friend was quite unpleasant with me. I was closed, he forced me out of my resting hours." The old man smiled, putting his hands together as he looked at the beast outside.
Such powerful young Taoists must have had a lot of money.
"Oh, of course." Bao Zhang took out ten silver coins, placing them on the old manâs hand.
"Ten silver coins?" The old man stared at the money.
It was a good amount, a more than fair payment, but he still couldnât stop himself from gritting his teeth. How could those young Taoists be so stingy? He wouldnât accept less than a gold coin!
"What do you think I am, a slave? Ten pieces of silver isnât enough for me to keep that pig alive for the face of-" The old manâs voice was interrupted when Bao Zhangâs hand fell on his shoulder, forcing him to kneel.
"You live in a Sect village, under a Sect sky, and eat Sect grain." He spoke, increasing his murderous intent with every word.
"If my junior had to force you out of your resting hours, it means that you refused to treat a disciple of the Ascending Dragon Sect. I should rip your head off for that, you know?"
Bao Zhang growled, glaring at Chu Yang.
"Your sword, now." He ordered, and Chu Yang obeyed without question.
"N-no!" The old man fell to his knees, tears forming in his eyes. Werenât those pure and gentle disciples? Why would they kill him just for wanting to extort them honestly?
"I-I made a mistake, please forgive me, it wonât happen again, never again!" The old man begged, prostrating himself and crawling over to Bao Zhang, kissing his shoes.
"Ugh..." Bao Zhang grunted queasily, stepping back and handing Chu Yang his sword.
"Weâll be back early in the morning. Spend the night looking after our friend. If he dies, Iâll consider it your negligence." Bao Zhangâs voice echoed in the old manâs ear as he walked towards the door.
That old man was a fox and understood the threat well.
Long Qingyi, sitting outside the clinic, couldnât hold back his laughter.
He had heard everything clearly and was glad that Bao Zhang treated old bastards with the same "affection" as he did.
"Youâre a mess," Qingyi smiled at his three companions.
"Really? And why donât you look at yourself?" Lei Feng held back a giggle as he watched Qingyi.
Everyone was dirty with blood and sweat at some point, but Qingyi was totally drenched. His white robes were red and even the pale skin of his face looked as if it had received a large coat of scarlet paint.
"Well, I worked the hardest," Qingyi laughed, standing up with a grunt and looking at the wolf.
People were already beginning to gather around the colossal corpse. Some of the braver ones even touched the fur of the beast that had tormented them for so long, their eyes filled with gratitude as they stared at the young heroes.
"I think we need a good bath," the handsome, blood-soaked young man said.
"Hm... there must be at least one inn in this town," Chu Yang commented.
"Inn? Lord Fang is a good-hearted man. Iâm sure heâll offer us a hot bath and a noble bed as soon as we present our hunt to him." Qingyi stretched as she grabbed the wolfâs body. Circulating his Qi, he grunted as he lifted it.
"Junior brother Qingyi really is a very intelligent man," Lei Feng let out an excited sigh as he followed him.
Even Bao Zhang, the most composed and mature among them, couldnât help but laugh slightly.
It wasnât long before they arrived at the Lordâs mansion and were greeted by a smiling Lord Fang.
"Back already? I thought it would take you days to hunt this bastard down! The Sectâs younger generation really has improved a lot compared to when I was a disciple."
Lord Fang slapped Qingyi hard on the shoulder, crouching over the wolfâs carcass without caring about the blood staining his hands when he came into contact with the young man.
It really was an impressive beast. He had seen few so powerful for his level of cultivation in his entire life.
"Twenty gold coins, what do you think? Five coins each." Lord Fang stood up. The carcass was worth a little more, but that was his share for taking care of the processing.
"Twenty-five," Bao Zhang said. "Our other companion is still alive, heâs just being treated."
"Oh... Iâm sorry. Then twenty-five is a good price."
Lord Fang took some coins out of his pocket and handed them to the group leader, who smilingly handed them out.
They were a little richer, both with the thousand Sect contribution points and a few extra gold coins.
"Come on in. Iâll ask the servants to prepare a bath and a comfortable bed for you. I canât allow such talented young people to sleep in miserable taverns."
Qingyi couldnât help exchanging glances with the others. This was exactly what he had said would happen!
As they approached the mansionâs large double doors, he noticed a woman in elegant clothes watching them with a casual smile.
The woman wore no make-up, and none was needed, her skin, pale as snow and as perfect as the finest jade had a natural blush, and her lips were full and rosy.
She had long black hair that fell on her delicate shoulders and penetrating green eyes, her voluptuous body covered by a luxurious tight green dress.
From a thin waist, her hips extended smoothly, and above it, large voluptous breasts.
Observing such beauty, Qingyi shuddered slightly.
She was the most beautiful women he had ever seen. Hua Feiyan and Mo Feixue were nowhere near her.
What was a woman of that caliber doing there, with an weak, corrupt Lord like Fang? It didnât make sense!
