The men were catching up, so Yang Ruxin didnât get involved, and in the end, she and Yu Qingge went shopping together.
Gu Qingheng wasnât worried about his wife at all. After all, if they really encountered trouble, it wasnât certain whoâd end up unlucky. Nonetheless, he still had Gu Qiao and Gu Can accompany them.
"Sis, what are the specialties of Mount Tai?" Yu Qingge asked as she strolled around, "I wonât mention stone carvings; those are too heavy to carry."
"The three delicacies of Taian: cabbage, tofu water, and pancakes," Yang Ruxin chuckled, "but those are from later times. Iâm not sure about the current specialties, but being near the mountain, itâs probably rare stone and mountain produce."
Yu Qingge didnât ask any more questions; she had merely asked out of curiosity and wasnât genuinely interested in buying anything.
Nevertheless, they did see a stall selling Mount Tai pancakes, available in sweet and savory varietiesâcrispy pancakes, in fact.
Since they spotted it, they naturally couldnât miss out, so Yu Qingge bought one for each person, munching as they walked.
The women didnât mind, but Gu Qiao and Gu Can seemed slightly awkward. Two grown men walking and eating at the same time was indeed...
However, they couldnât refuse nor throw it away, so they reluctantly took a bite. To their surprise, it tasted quite good.
"Madam." As they were strolling, someone suddenly blocked their path.
Gu Qiao and Gu Can instantly shielded Yang Ruxin and the others, while Xuxu and Chai Qin adopted defensive stances.
Yang Ruxin looked up; it was Tang Kun, and she couldnât help but frown: "Sect Leader Tang, long time no see."
Yu Qingge quickly lowered her head, hiding behind Xuxu. She hadnât expected to encounter Tang Kun on this trip, or rather, she had long forgotten about him, never expecting to meet here, especially without her mask.
"Indeed, what a coincidence." Tang Kunâs gaze, however, fell on Yu Qinggeâs face, "And this is...?"
"Sect Leader Tang seems very interested in my people," Yang Ruxin snorted, pulling out a silk scarf to cover Yu Qinggeâs face, "I donât believe weâre that familiar, are we?" She said, pulling her along to leave.
But Tang Kun stepped sideways to block their path.
"Tang Kun, what exactly do you want?" Yang Ruxinâs expression turned cold.
"Madam Gu, if you donât mind, Iâd like to see this young ladyâs face," Tang Kunâs eyes flashed with menace.
"And what if I refuse?" Yang Ruxin slightly raised an eyebrow.
"Then donât blame me for being rude." Tang Kun snorted coldly.
"Fine." Yang Ruxin nodded, handed Yu Qingge to Xuxu, then stepped forward, "Letâs see just how rude you, Sect Leader Tang, can be. Besides, I have some scores to settle about your last attempt on my life. Some people really donât know when to quit."
Tang Kunâs brow furrowed deeply, "Youâre courting death!" As he spoke, he suddenly raised his hand to strike Yang Ruxinâs head. This place wasnât Beijing, nor was it the General Residence; it wasnât a place where Yang Ruxin could act recklessly.
Yu Qingge couldnât help but cry out in alarm.
But just as Tang Kun struck, Gu Qiao dashed forward, clashing palms with him. There was a loud bang as both were pushed back. Tang Kun was forced back four steps, while Gu Qiao only retreated three.
