The sight of so many divine beings sieging the world barrier made him frown and say to himself, âWhat is going on here? All of these people canât be here to save this one divine being, right?"
Before he could get an answer to that question, the manifestations of Fenrir were attacked. The divine beings blocking the way didnât attack to destroy the manifestations. They attacked to capture the manifestations.
Loki was sure of this conjecture because they were using suppressive force on the two metal dogs, instead of trying to destroy the metal dogs outright.
He also heard the rank 8 leader of the alliance that Heavy Anvil belonged to say, "Get that dog for me."
The barrier of the dimensions had already been blocked by the Cave Heaven of the divine beings, so the manifestations couldnât escape by slipping into the second dimension. Since the manifestations had already been surrounded, it was only a matter of time before they were captured.
Loki didnât know what they wanted to do with the metal dogs, but he decided that he didnât want to find out by experiencing it. He decided to choose his safety over the prospect of plundering the two Cave Heavens he sent the manifestations of Fenrir to find.
In order to avoid any unforeseeable accidents, he decided to deactivate the manifestations instead of risking their capture. So with a thought from him, the two metal dogs fell apart into a cloud of metallic dust.
Just as he did this, he turned to Monarch Heavy Anvil and said, "Why are there so many people here for you?"
Monarch Heavy Anvil smiled at him and said in reply, "They are not here for me. They are here for you."
Lokiâs heart skipped a beat when he heard that. He became alert as he thought to himself, saying, `Has Fenrir been discovered? Or was the Rewind Metac exposed?`
These two things were the first to pop into his head because they are his greatest fears. Just the possibility that Fenrir and the Rewind Metac could have been exposed put him in a fight or flight mode like never before.
He was ready to flee at this point, but outwardly, he remained calm as he snorted and said to Heavy Anvil, "Why will they come for me? You canât really expect me to believe that they are here for my Soul Hammer Metac, right?"
Even as he spoke, his mind was going through everything he had done recently and conjuring other possibilities for why nearly a hundred divine beings had surrounded him.
As he racked his mind, he thought about how he had destroyed the Crystal City. Then he remembered how he had killed Monarch Crown of Metal and Monarch Craftsmanâs Hammer.
After those two things flashed through his mind, he also remembered how the world barrier didnât seem to affect him when he attacked his two pursuers.
These things made him say inwardly, âCould this be revenge for destroying Crystal City? Or is it revenge for killing Crown of Metal and Craftsmanâs Hammer? Did those two pay people to avenge them?â
âI am sure that Heavy Anvilâs alliance is here for revenge. But what about the others? Especially the warriors. What are the warriors here for? Could it be that my identity as a dragon has been exposed because I am not restricted by the world barrier?â
`Was the fact that I can use many pathways and any Divine Metac exposed? Or is this manhunt just a product of slander? Did someone lie and say something false about me that drew public ire?â
He had to consider everything remotely possible just for the fact that there are four rank 8 cultivators blocking the world barrier. One rank 8 cultivator like Money Body is already good enough to deal with him. So when four divine beings like Money Body gather, he has to do his utmost to figure out why theyâve gathered.
While various thoughts swirled through his head, his voice was full of derision as he said to Heavy Anvil, "I know that the Soul Hammer Metac is special, but I didnât think it was that special. You people are making me look down on you.â
In response to everything he said, Heavy Anvil laughed and said, "Just wait and see. Youâll soon see what they are here for."
Since he didnât get the answers he wanted, he smacked Heavy Anvil in the face. His slap caused Heavy Anvilâs head to crack open.
When he saw the crack, he decided to grab the edge of the crack with one hand. Then he pulled the crack and ripped away some flesh from Heavy Anvilâs face.
Heavy Anvil screamed out in pain, but this was enough to satisfy Loki. He curled his lips and grinned as he said, "Since you donât want to talk, you will have to scream."
As he spoke, he shoved his hand into Heavy Anvilâs face and grabbed the tongue. Then he pulled the tongue out of Heavy Anvilâs mouth.
The tongue didnât want to come out, but he ripped it out by force. Then he beat Heavy Anvil in the face with his tongue.
He was behaving as if he wasnât concerned about the crowd of people that had sealed the way out of the world barrier, but inwardly, he was nearly panicking. This was because he didnât know what to expect.
It is said that the greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. He didnât know exactly what was going on, so his mind began to conjure the worst possibilities.
The worst possibility that he thought of was that Dao Lords were involved in this, but they hadnât appeared and had instead sent a group of divine beings in order to give him a false sense of safety and let down his guard.
Thoughts like this made him expect to be attacked by a Dao Lord at any moment now. So he felt more and more that it was a good idea to escape into the River of Time as soon as possible.
