"Bastard!" Levi roared loudly.
He lunged toward Nolan, raising his sword high and swinging it at him.
Boom!
His attack struck the spot where Nolan had been standing, but Nolan managed to dodge by jumping backward.
Not giving up, Levi continued to chase Nolan and launched various deadly attacks.
Still, Nolan managed to dodge them. In his eyes, Leviâs attacks felt very slow and weak.
He couldâve killed him instantly, but that wouldnât be exciting. He wanted to play with Levi before killing him.
The fight looked more like a chase, which made Levi extremely sick.
He stopped moving, raised his left hand, and shouted coldly, "Ghost chains!"
Whoosh!
Suddenly, five green chains appeared from the ground and shot toward Nolan.
Faced with this, Nolan remained relaxed. He avoided the chains with smooth, graceful movements, as if he were dancing.
As a result, the chains tangled with each other and eventually fell to the ground.
The sight stunned Levi. "How is that possible? How can he make the ghost chains bind each other?"
Ghost chains were one of his skills. The skill summoned chains that could bind the souls of any living creature it targeted.
But now, Nolan could easily manipulate the chains, which left him astonished, confused, and more alert.
This young man is more dangerous than I thought,
he muttered coldly.
If he had previously given Nolan a danger score of 90 points, now that score had shot up to 100!
He had to kill him quickly to avoid any bad possibilities.
Thrusting his sword into the floor, he clasped his hands together and shouted, "Soul-Eater Ghost!"
Buzz!
His sword emitted a blinding light. Soon after, a two-meter-wide portal appeared behind him, and a monstrously shaped creature emerged.
The monster loomed nearly two meters tall, with a bald head and a twisted, messy face.
It had no arms or legs and moved by writhing.
Levi infused it with his power, and instantly, the creature lunged toward Nolan at terrifying speed.
"Danger! Nolan, get out of the way!"
Sharon, watching from a distance, shouted desperately. But her warning was useless. The monster struck Nolan, killing him before devouring him.
Sharonâs eyes widened in disbelief.
"Nolan..." she whispered, but her words were cut off by a calm voice echoing in her ears.
"I will take Levi away and kill him. This dimension is starting to weaken, and you can destroy it with the heirloom of the Singularity of Chaos that I gave you."
Sharon froze. Suddenly, a shadow appeared behind Levi, who was laughing triumphantly.
The shadow twisted its body and kicked Levi in the back.
His massive form bounced violently and was pulled into one of the six portals.
The shadow followed immediately, disappearing into the same portal.
Sharon shook off her shock and stared at the portal where both Levi and the shadow had vanished.
"Was that Nolanâs voice? If so, that means heâs not dead!" She let out a relieved sigh.
Her worries vanished instantly, replaced by happiness.
She still couldnât understand how her brother, always considered weak and useless, could possess such terrifying combat power.
Even while facing Leviâs attack, he had survived and struck back in secret.
This revelation only strengthened her belief that Nolan had been hiding his true power all along.
As for why, she didnât knowâbut she vowed to ask him directly later.
***
Whoosh!
Leviâs massive form shot out of the portal and appeared in the middle of an unfamiliar ocean.
The wind blew fiercely, and black clouds gathered overhead, rumbling with thunder.
Levi hovered in the sky, eyes scanning warily.
"Whatâs going on? Why did I end up here?" he asked cautiously.
The portals he had created were supposed to lead to a special dimension where his monsters resided.
Thatâs why he had been able to summon so many monsters and trap Cassiopeia and Draco in relentless battles.
But now, he had appeared somewhere entirely unknownâsomething he hadnât anticipated at all.
"Could someone have altered the path of the portal I created? But who?"
Draco and Cassiopeia had been fighting his monsters earlier, so it was impossible for either of them.
Then, one person came to mindâNolan.
Donât tell me heâs the culprit?
His eyes narrowed suspiciously. That was the only possibilityâafter all, he was facing that young man.
"Oh? Are you talking about me?"
A playful voice came from ahead. Levi turned and saw Nolan hovering just above the surface of the sea.
He held two daggers in his hands, a casual smile on his face.
"It seems youâve been hiding your strength all this time. I even suspect youâre hiding it from your friends."
Judging by how they assigned roles when he summoned his monsters, it was clear the strong man and woman didnât consider the young man before them capable.
Most likely, they thought him weak.
"Youâre quite clever, Mr. Levi Crussade," Nolan chuckled. "It seems that in your previous world, your more modern way of thinking gave you a slight edge over the people in this one."
Leviâs eyes narrowed. "I have a bold guess. Could it be that you are like meâa person who came from Earth and was transported to this world?"
Ever since Nolan first mentioned the name "Crimson Leviathan," the thought had immediately crossed his mind.
But he wasnât sure. According to his knowledge, only he and his companionsânow all deadâhad been transferred to this world.
Of course, that was based on very limited knowledge.
This world was vast, and it wasnât impossible that others had been transported here as well.
Nolan nodded slightly and replied, "Yes, Iâm from Earth, Levi Crussade. And I also know about you and the pirate ship Crimson Leviathan."
He glanced at him playfully. "You were a famous pirate at the end of the eighteenth century. You plundered countless merchant ships crossing the ocean. Many countries despised you and your crew."
Levi felt a chill run down his spine. Though he had guessed it, hearing it directly from Nolan was a different experience altogether.
As he had said earlier, he only knew that he and his crew had been transported to this world.
The idea that others might have also been transferred had always been just a possibility.
Even after hundreds of years, he had never encountered anyone from his original world.
He took a deep breath, smiled broadly, and then burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! What an incredible coincidence. Honestly, Iâm so surprised I can hardly believe it," he admitted.
He let go of his hostility and extended his hand toward Nolan.
"I donât know your name or how you were brought to this world. But..."
His gaze carried hidden ambition. "Since we come from the same world, how about joining forces with me? I want to rule all the oceans in this world. Together, we can become the rulers who command every sea. Do you accept?"
