Chapter 416: Nathan Asbourne

"Actually... some troubling news arrived a few days ago. The Demon Emperor is rumored to have been resurrected."

Elina and Rafine were shocked when they heard this. They exchanged horrified glances, as if they couldn’t believe what Evalyn had just said.

"The Demon Emperor has been resurrected, you say? Evalyn, are you serious?" Elina asked in a heavy voice.

The Demon Emperor was the most dangerous figure in this world’s history.

In the past, millions of lives were lost because of him, and this continent nearly fell into endless suffering.

If it weren’t for the cooperation of all the powers in the world and the existence of two transcendents, he might have destroyed all living things.

"Do you think I need to lie to you?" Evalyn sighed deeply as she folded her arms across her chest. "In our family, there is an ancient artifact left behind by our ancestor. Because our ancestor knew the Demon Emperor was not completely dead, he created this artifact together with the Asbourne family’s ancestor."

"Nathan Asbourne?" Evalyn narrowed her eyes. "What do you want?"

Beside Nathan stood Cedric and several other young nobles.

Their arrival instantly created tension in the air. Some newly arrived noble families were surprised by the scene and chose to watch, curious about what might unfold.

"Nothing. I just wanted to greet you. And you still haven’t answered my question—you seem stronger. Am I right?" Nathan gave a slight smile.

Evalyn smirked. "Whether I’m strong or not, it’s none of your business. But since you’re so curious, I’ll answer. Yeah, I’m much stronger—and strong enough to kick your ass."

Elina and Rafine couldn’t hold back their smiles. If they didn’t have to maintain their composure, they would have burst out laughing.

Evalyn’s taunt was just too blunt. Rafine couldn’t help but think of Nolan.

They were very similar when mocking someone.

"You..." Nathan was furious. He knew Evalyn was a blunt woman, but he didn’t expect her to humiliate him in front of everyone.

Anger exploded inside him as his body suddenly emitted a thick black light that shot up toward the ceiling of the entrance hall.

The pressure surged, and the temperature dropped sharply. Everyone felt their breath catch, as if invisible hands were strangling their throats.

Not to be outdone, Evalyn unleashed her power as well. A golden light burst from her body and clashed directly against Nathan’s.

Both of them were the new generation wielders of two legendary weapons—the Divine Sword Luminus and the Dark Sword Eclipse.

These two swords were the very weapons used to kill the Demon Emperor in the past.

However, because of the feud between their families, they became enemies—deep enough to hate each other.

Cedric quickly patted Nathan’s left shoulder and tried to calm him. "Control yourself, Nathan. If you get provoked any further, you’ll only embarrass yourself in front of everyone."

Elina also hurried to calm Evalyn and asked her to suppress her aura.

Otherwise, things could get out of hand. Evalyn and Nathan exchanged sharp glances, then simultaneously withdrew their powers.

The atmosphere returned to normal, and everyone finally let out a long breath of relief.

The pressure released by the two heirs of the legendary swords was truly terrifying.

"Don’t think our conflict ends here, Evalyn," Nathan said coldly as he turned away. "One day, I will defeat you."

Without waiting for a response, he walked into the palace.

Cedric and the other young nobles followed behind him. As he passed, Cedric shot Elina a cold glance before slowly disappearing from view.

"We’ll see who begs for mercy later," Evalyn snorted.

Elina just smiled and rubbed her back gently.

"All right, don’t stay angry like that. Let’s go inside. The party is about to start."

Evalyn nodded lightly. After that, the three of them walked inside.
