Chapter 386: I Stole Your Heart II
The Incubus System Chapter 384. I Stole Your Heart II
After a series of failures, she finally quit.
âYouâre so annoying,â she said in a panting breath. Her eyes were fixed on me.
I shrugged nonchalantly.
âDonât blame me for your snail speed.â
âHa. Ha. Ha.â She laughed in a cynical tone.
âRight, I forgot. How could I possibly defeat the great demon? The Prince of Dark Dimension?â she praised me in a sarcastic tone, indicating it was a mockery.
âLook at your childish act. No one will believe that youâre the great demon. You donât act like one,â she mocked me.
But I replied with an annoying smile and lifted my chin a bit.
âIsnât that good? Besides, I donât want to reveal my identity yet.â I folded my arms in front of me.
âWith this, I declare my disguise is perfect,â I announced proudly. Still with an annoying tone.
âYouââ She gritted her teeth and threw her doll to me. But I ducked down to avoid it.
âYou should have mercy on that bear, ya know? Itâs his first day, yet you abuse him cruelly,â I complained.
âLook whoâs talking.â Her hand grabbed her smaller doll from the table and threw it at me as if I was a target in the shooting game. Unfortunately, none of them hit me.
Annoyed, she charged at me. This time, I didnât dodge it. As she bumped at me, our bodies fell on the bed.
âHa! Got you!â she grinned. Her hands pinned my wrists onto the bed. It was too weak to hold me but I had enough of playing around and didnât want to spend the whole night fighting with her.
âYeah, you got me,â I said with a faint smile. My gaze was on her, staring at every detail of her face. Her brown hair, her eyes, her lips. As if I imprinted her details in my memory.
It made her grin fade.
âWhatâs with that look?â she said in a calmer tone.
âGuess.â
âAre you hungry?â she guessed.
I answered with a ânoâ head shake.
âAre you âhungryâ?â she guessed again. She referred to my Demonic Power.
âIâve done that 5 times today, remember?â I reminded her.
âThen what?â she pouted.
Rather than answer her with words, I pushed her to the side, reversing our position. But rather than pinned her, I dropped my body on top of her and hugged her. Slowly, I closed my eyes.
âWhat is this for?â she whispered.
âJust let me be like this for a moment,â I said.
After that we were silent. What I could hear were our breathing and heartbeats. Our body temperatures warmed each other. Not a word came out of our mouths since we already understood the meaning of this hug.
âBrother⊠Youâre heavy,â she whispered. But it wasnât a complaint since her hands, which hugged me and gripped my pajamas, said otherwise.
âUm-humâŠâ I hummed without opening my eyes.
âIf youâre tired, just tell me,â I added.
âNot yet. Rather than that⊠I want to talk to you about a lot of things. But I donât know whatâŠâ she whispered. I knew she wanted to spend as much time with me as possible, but we had talked so much to the point we didnât know what else to talk about.
âHow about your friends?â I gave her my idea.
âDidnât we just talk about them earlier?â
âThen, how about your plan for this holiday?â I gave another idea.
âI think Iâll spend it hanging out with my friends or your partners,â she replied.
âThatâs it?â
âYeah. Demon attacks are more intense these days, I donât want to get into trouble.â
âYouâre rightâŠâ I said calmly. Feeling that I had been on top of her long enough, I released my hug. Then I opened my eyes and dropped my body to the side, making us look at each other.
Another short silence followed. Our eyes were on each other since we didnât know what else to say.
Slowly, my hand reached out to her, pressing my palm to the side of her face. A faint smile began to appear on her lips. Her hand went up to overlapping mine.
Without saying anything I knew what she wanted to say but she held it back because she already knew it was useless. While I also knew, all my words would be no use to her.
âCamila has agreed to attend my graduation in case you canât come on time,â she said out of the blue.
âHas your school announced it? Just tell me when.â It was an important event so I kinda feel guilty if I missed it.
âNot yet. Besides, I donât want to bother youâŠâ
I didnât reply since I didnât know if I could attend it or not. Miaâs mating period was a whole week and I only needed to do it once, while Celiaâs graduation had a narrower exact time so it would be hard for me to attend it. I wasnât sure, but I would try my best.
Without another word, she snuggled closer to me and closed her eyes in comfort.
âYouâre warmâŠâ she whispered.
âUm-hum.â
She sniffed my body.
âThisâŠâ Then she opened her eyes and snorted in annoyance.
âYou used my soap again.â
âI forgot to buy mine.â Well, I was expecting this, considering how she could catch what I had done with Pearl with just my scent.
âYouâre always like that. AnnoyingâŠâ she complained. But her hands that hugged me tightly said she didnât care about that.
âSo annoyingâŠâ she complained in a lower voice.
âYouâre complaining while hugging me. How can I believe that?â
âComplaining and loving you are two different things,â she replied. And I had to admit she was rightâŠ
âBrotherâŠâ she whispered.
âHmm?â
âI heard thereâs a new theme park in Lightglen City. We should go there one day.â It was a random topic. I could tell she was desperately looking for another topic to continue our conversation.
âOkay. I will take you there after all this is over,â I said, closing my eyes slowly.
