Chapter 1001: Chapter 1001: What a Coincidence (5)
Shu Jiao nodded, just about to say something, when a long whistle sounded from the distanceâthe train had arrived at the station.
The two had to pause their conversation and looked out toward the platform.
The train slowly rolled in and eventually came to a stop. Only then did the gate to the platform open, and everyone waiting surged forward to greet their loved ones. Worried that Jiaojiao might get jostled in the crowd, Xiu Xi half-embraced her, shielding her protectively in his arms.
Jiaojiaoâs sharp eyes immediately caught sight of Shu Wen, who was sitting by the window and stood out with her striking appearance. But her view was quickly blocked by the crowd. Because Jiaojiao was short, even standing on tiptoes didnât help. Frustrated, she tugged at Shu Jiao and Xiu Xi, urging them to push forward so they could reach Shu Wen sooner.
Jiang Bin, standing nearby, thought for a moment and followed after them.
Shu Jiao, busy protecting Jiaojiao, didnât have the time to notice Jiang Bin behind them. By the time they had finally squeezed through the crowd, Jiaojiao spotted Shu Wen still sitting by the window. It was clear Shu Wen was waiting for the crowd to thin out before disembarking. Jiaojiaoâs voice rang out, loud and clear: âAuntie!â
Shu Wen hadnât even been looking out of the window, not expecting anyone to come meet her. But the sudden shout of âAuntie!â made her instinctively glance outside.
The moment she looked out, her smile was as radiant as a blooming flower.
Shu Wen was already stunningly beautiful, and when she smiled, it was as though a thousand blossoms had bloomed all at once, captivating everyone. More than a few people couldnât help but marvel at how remarkable this family looked.
âJiaojiao, Sis!â Shu Wen called out, waving enthusiastically, overjoyed. But then, as though she suddenly noticed something, her smile stiffened slightly before quickly returning to normal.
Jiaojiao, who had been watching Shu Wen intently, didnât miss that fleeting moment at all.
She glanced over her shoulder instinctively but only saw Jiang Bin standing behind her.
With Jiaojiao and the others coming to meet her, Shu Wen could no longer sit still. She grabbed her suitcase and headed straight for the train car door. Jiaojiao and the rest moved in her direction, and within a minute, they met at the door.
Shu Wen tossed her suitcase aside and immediately hugged Jiaojiao in front of her. She planted kisses on both sides of Jiaojiaoâs face. âOh, my little darling, Auntie missed you so much. Little Jiaojiao, did you miss your Auntie?â
Jiaojiao accepted her warmth with a big smile, wrapping her arms around Shu Wenâs waist. âOf course I missed you! I recognized Auntie the moment I saw you!â
âAh, Jiaojiao is amazing.â If Shu Wen could still lift Jiaojiao, she would have twirled her around in excitement.
âAlright, alright, thatâs enough now,â Shu Jiao interjected, pretending to be annoyed, though her face was full of smiles.
âSis, youâre such a spoiled sport. How about thisâwhy donât you let me take Jiaojiao with me for a year next year, huh?â Shu Wen suggested cheerfully.
âNo way.â Before Shu Jiao could respond, Xiu Xi immediately rejected the idea, holding Jiaojiaoâs small hand defensively.
Both Shu Wen and Shu Jiao were momentarily stunned, but then they remembered how, more than two years ago, when Shu Wen left, she had wanted to take Jiaojiao with her. Back then, Xiu Xi had panicked and clung to Jiaojiao, refusing to let her go. At the memory, they couldnât help but laugh.
Shu Jiao chided playfully, âYouâre in your late twenties now, canât you talk more sensibly? Youâve graduated from college. If you want kids, isnât it easy? Just have one yourself!â
âUgh, no way. Why get married for no reason?â Shu Wen dismissed the idea, holding Jiaojiaoâs little hand and walking toward the station. âBesides, who knows if Iâd end up having a boy or a girl? What if itâs a boy?â
âBoys are nice too,â Jiang Bin, walking behind them, chimed in unexpectedly.
