At first, the Ruanlin Family didn’t react, but when they did, they immediately pulled Ruan Jiaojiao into their arms.

This scene lasted quite a while, finally ending when Rou Rou lifted his head and let out a howl.

The dogs feared Rou Rou, and the wild cats feared him even more. Reluctant as they were to leave Ruan Jiaojiao, held by the Ruanlin Family, they eventually dispersed.

"What was all that about?"

People in the market gossiped and chatted, for the scene just now was truly a spectacle.

"What’s the big deal? My Rou Rou’s just good buddies with the cats and dogs, that’s all. It hasn’t been out for days, and they’re just here to visit. Nowadays, animals like cats and dogs have way more spirit than people." The Ruanlin Family wasn’t afraid, raising their voice. With their naturally loud voice, most folks heard them.

This made sense to many, and soon people started discussing stories of their own animals’ human-like clarity, quickly forgetting what had just happened.

Even though she didn’t show it, Ruanlin secretly breathed a sigh of relief, patting Ruan Jiaojiao’s fluffy little head in her arms, whispering, "Don’t be afraid, Grandma’s here."

Hearing this, Ruan Jiaojiao shook her tiny head, slowly and sneakily burrowing out of the blanket, revealing her little messy fur-covered head.

"Meow?" Are they all gone?

She tilted her head, asking the Ruanlin Family.

The Ruanlin Family was so amused by her little appearance that they nearly melted. If not for the unsuitable setting, they would have loved to kiss her little head. As they smoothed down her fur, they affectionately said, "Yes, they’re all gone. Let’s go buy groceries."
