CapĂtulo 1589: Chapter 1589: Coming of Age Ceremony (Part 7)
Just as the laughter was at its peak, they noticed a young woman in a blouse and short skirt approaching with a stern face. The service staff exchanged a glance and dispersed before she arrived.
Luo Huan was the lobby manager of the Ruan Family hotel. She had returned from overseas education, and the first thing she did upon her return was locate Ruan Hao and apply to join as the lobby manager.
She liked Ruan Hao, fell for him the first time she saw him abroad. Even though she was older than Ruan Hao, she never considered it a problem. She came from a good family, was well-educated, and most importantly, she was willing to give up inheriting her family business to work at this hotel for him. She always felt that being together with him was only a matter of time.
But she never expected that just a few months in, another unexpected rival would appear.
When she heard from the kitchen that Ruan Hao was walking in with a young girl, she felt her blood freeze. As she approached the lobby, she overheard the conversation among the staff and her expression darkened further.
She looked up at the floor above and hesitated for a moment, biting her lip, but eventually couldnât overcome the hurdle in her heart and headed upstairs.
Ruan Hao, upon arriving at the hotel, went straight to deal with some matters, leaving Ruan Jiaojiao alone in the office to play on the computer. Since there werenât many games on the current computer, Ruan Jiaojiao only played a few rounds of Solitaire before stopping, and instead, her attention was caught by an acquisition document on Ruan Haoâs desk.
She picked it up and glanced at it. Shangfeng Film and Television?
The name sounded familiar. She remembered Yang Taoâs family owned Shanda Film and Television, and it seemed Shangfeng was owned by Yang Menâs family?
Was Big Brother planning to acquire Yang Menâs cinemas?
Ruan Jiaojiao flipped through the document further. After confirming that the person in charge of Shangfeng Film and Television indeed had the surname Yang, she was almost certain that it belonged to Yang Menâs family.
Ruan Jiaojiao had forgotten the minor incident from years ago, so she didnât understand why Ruan Hao wanted to acquire Yang Menâs business. But since Yang Taoâs and Yang Menâs families, although related, did not have entangled businesses, she wasnât worried. She put the document back and began examining Ruan Haoâs office.
As she approached the bookshelf, she spotted a classic foreign novel. Just as she picked it up, she heard a knock on the door.
âKnock, knock, knockâŠâ
Was someone looking for her big brother?
Ruan Jiaojiao went to open the door and was greeted by the stern face of Luo Huan outside.
By then, Ruan Jiaojiao had already taken off her hat, revealing her delicate features.
Luo Huan was momentarily stunned when she saw her. She had seen Ruan Jiaojiao before, not in person, but in a photograph. On Ruan Haoâs desk was a photo of her, taken shortly after she finished her college entrance exams. The young girl stood in front of the high school gate, with her head tilted and small fingers making a peace sign, grinning happily.
She had asked about it the first time she saw it, and Ruan Hao hadnât hidden anything, saying it was his younger sister.
Luo Huan never thought the person discussed downstairs would be his younger sister. Her face remained stern, and by the time she realized it, she could only awkwardly gather herself, her demeanor becoming somewhat stiff.
ââŠâ Ruan Jiaojiao.
Was this a smile or a cry?
Ruan Jiaojiao pretended not to notice her peculiarity and politely asked, âAre you here to see the manager? He just went to handle some matters and will be back soon. Would you like to come in and wait?â
