Ye Jiuliang pursed her lips, "Let go of my hand first, how can we talk like this?"
Not in this position, anyway.
Her heart couldnāt withstand the stimulation.
Li Mochan looked down, his hair faintly tickling her ear.
"Why canāt we talk like this?" His magnetic voice carried a hint of laziness.
Ye Jiuliang bit her back teeth, "Anyway, itās just not possible."
Who talks like this, anyway?
"Teddy bear, do you like it?" He changed the subject, trying to divert her attention.
Ye Jiuliang glanced at the teddy bear on the opposite sofa, a trace of a smile flashed through her eyes, and she said disingenuously, "Iām not a child."
"What about me, do you like me?" Li Mochan tilted his head, his thin lips nearly touching the tip of her ear, his voice husky.
Ye Jiuliangās pupils contracted, and she covered her ears, unable to resist his seduction.
She glared at him, frustrated, "Li Mochan, I told you not to talk near my ear."
A deep chuckle spread, and Li Mochan looked at her reddening earlobe, the curve of his mouth growing wider.
"Wolf Cub, your ear is red."
Ye Jiuliang wanted to find a brick to hit him with, her hands covering her ears even more tightly.
"Get lost."
"How can I get lost when you havenāt answered whether you like me or not?"
"Donāt like." Without thinking, Ye Jiuliang replied after being teased.
"Liar," Li Mochan was not annoyed, "You definitely like me."
"..."
Where does his baffling confidence come from?
Ye Jiuliang opened her mouth to argue, but he beat her to it.
"If you donāt like me, why would you let me hold your hand all night, why would you allow me to stay here, why would you let me hold you like this?"
A series of questions left Ye Jiuliang speechless.
She was at a loss for words, not knowing how to refute.
"Wolf Cub, you said we are the same kind of people, if you donāt like someone, you wouldnāt give them the chance to get close, itās true for me and likewise for you." Li Mochan toyed with her hair, his deep voice slowly piercing through the emotions she had sealed at the bottom of her heart.
Ye Jiuliangās hands by her side gradually clenched, her eyes clouded with complex, deep hues.
If it werenāt Li Mochan, would she let another person do this to her?
The answer was ready to come out, no.
If others canāt, then why only Li Mochan can?
Actually, she should have known the answer a long time ago, itās just that she was unwilling to admit it.
"Wolf Cub, stop pushing me away, give me a chance, and Iāll prove we are more compatible than anyone else." Li Mochan held both her hands, enveloping them in his palms.
Ye Jiuliang spoke softly, "What would you do if I stole something of yours one day?"
Li Mochan looked at her with a smile in his eyes, "As long as it makes you happy, Iāll give you everything."
Ye Jiuliang turned around, facing him, "What if we become enemies one day?"
"Enemies?" His tone rose at the end, hidden with mirth.
He leaned in closer, "Then Iāll be your captive, will you take me away too?"
The low voice, speaking the most enticing words of affection, was also his heartfelt truth.
What he felt deep down, he said just so.
Not to coax her, but as a vow to her.
Ye Jiuliang glanced sideways, sinking into the manās eyes darker than the vast expanse of the Milky Way, a slow smile spreading across her lips.
"Once youāre my captive, you canāt run away." Whether itās a person or an object, once stolen, there is no reason to give them back.
At her words, Li Mochanās dark eyes gleamed with an alluring smile, "Okay."
That one brief word, filled with what little tenderness he had.
