Ye Jiuliang held her forehead and turned to look out the window.
She muttered softly, her voice not too loud but just enough for Gu Xinuo to hear, "That damn Aqian."
"Iâll wait for you, Iâm going to check on the situation first," Ji Mingqian then said.
The sound of the phone beeping came through, and Gu Xinuoâs fingertips turned white as she clenched the phone.
"Anuo, are you okay?" Ye Jiuliang asked gently, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Gu Xinuo shook her head, handed the phone back to her, and forced a smile on her lips, which looked more like a cry than a smile.
"Ajiu, letâs go have a look too, after all, weâre Achenâs family," she said.
Ye Jiuliang pursed her lips, "Really go?"
Gu Xinuo nodded, her smile growing wider, "Why that look? If Achen has someone he likes, we should be happy for him."
Ye Jiuliang looked at her with a profound gaze, thinking to herself that she was just being stubborn.

Elsewhere
After finishing the call, Ji Mingqian turned and went back to the living room, where Chu Chen was the only one there.
"Whereâs Yisheng?"
Chu Chen pointed upstairs, "He hasnât come down yet."
Ji Mingqian raised an eyebrow and headed upstairs.
Seeing the closed door, Ji Mingqian knocked twice.
"Knock knock..."
"Yisheng, are you done?"
There was no response from inside the room after waiting a bit.
Ji Mingqian raised his hand to knock again when suddenly the sound of the door lock turning could be heard.
Warm light from the room slanted out, and Ji Mingqian casually withdrew his hand.
Looking up, he was momentarily stunned.
The person opening the door had long chestnut hair casually draped over their shoulders; his naturally slender frame made the off-white dress appear perfectly fitting and elegant, with the addition of a black coat accentuating his figure even more.
Had he not known beforehand it was him, he might have mistaken the person before him for a woman with just one glance.
There was some truth to Jiang Yishengâs fans saying he was so beautiful it was hard to tell his gender.
"Does it look weird?" Jiang Yisheng lowered his eyes, a hint of embarrassment flashing in their depths.
Ji Mingqian averted his gaze, holding back a smile, "Not at all, it looks good."
Jiang Yisheng adjusted his coat and made a face, "Couldnât you find some clothes and pants for me?"
He had obviously chosen a dress to get back at him for the time he had to wear womenâs clothing.
"This makes you look a bit more feminine," Ji Mingqian said with a mischievous grin.
Jiang Yisheng glared at him, "Shut up."
"Oh, I still owe you something," Ji Mingqian said, gazing at his face and suddenly snapping his fingers.
"What?" Jiang Yisheng took a step back, his look full of wariness, "Just to be clear, Iâm not wearing high heels."
He could endure wearing womenâs clothing, but high heels were another story. Forget going out; he reckoned he couldnât even take a step without falling flat on his face.
"Letâs go downstairs," Ji Mingqian said.
Jiang Yisheng picked up a hat and casually placed it on his head, then followed him downstairs.
Downstairs, Chu Chen was fidgeting. Hearing footsteps, he turned reflexively.
Down the spiral staircase, Ji Mingqian and Jiang Yisheng descended side by side.
Was that person in the dress Jiang Yisheng?
"Achen, donât tell me you canât recognize him?" Ji Mingqian teased Chu Chen, seeing his astonished expression.
Chu Chen coughed awkwardly, feeling slightly guilty, "Yisheng, sorry for the trouble."
As soon as he said this, Ji Mingqian became unhappy, "Hey, Chu Chen, why donât you thank me as well? Iâve dressed up in womenâs clothes before too, you know."
"Scram," Chu Chen gave him a cold look.
"We should get going," Jiang Yisheng reminded them, worried they might start bickering again.
He wanted to get this over with quickly so he could change out of these clothes, which felt awkward to wear.
Ji Mingqian tossed the car keys to Chu Chen and dashed into the adjacent guest room, "Achen, you go ahead and start the car."
Jiang Yisheng watched him run into the guest room with a bad feeling.
He remembered that all the womenâs clothing and other stuff had been stuffed into that room the other day.
Just as he was about to follow Ji Mingqian into the room, Ji Mingqian came out and started pushing him toward the exit, "Letâs go, letâs go."
"What did you go to get?" asked Jiang Yisheng.
Ji Mingqian evaded the question, "Nothing much, I just left something inside."
Without time to think further, Jiang Yisheng let himself be pushed out the door.
The night deepened, and the stars in the overcast sky gradually multiplied.
The temperature dropped further at night, and Jiang Yisheng promptly rolled up the car windows as soon as he got into the car.
"Yisheng, you didnât put on makeup?" Ji Mingqian deliberately asked, unsurprised to receive a glare from the person next to him.
"Do you think I look like someone who would wear makeup?"
Wearing womenâs clothes was bad enough; he wanted him to put on makeup too? What was he thinking, had he gone mad?
"I think it would be better to apply a little makeup; it makes things look more realistic," Ji Mingqian murmured as he stealthily pulled out a lipstick from his pocket.
"How about some lipstick?"
Jiang Yisheng looked at the lipstick in his hand, a metaphorical black line falling across his forehead.
No wonder he had run into the guest roomâit was to grab the lipstick.
"No way," he rejected without a second thought.
"Whatâs there to fear about putting on some lipstick? Youâve worn lipstick before during endorsements and tours," Ji Mingqian leaned in close, ready to apply it.
"Ji Mingqian, back off; you guessed right. I never wear makeup or lipstick during tours and endorsements," Jiang Yisheng shifted back, pressing his spine against the car door and catching Ji Mingqianâs wrist, "Donât take an inch and go for a mile, huh."
"Since youâre already wearing the dress, this step wonât make much difference. Think about it; which woman doesnât wear makeup when going out?" Ji Mingqian persisted in persuasion.
"Jiuliang doesnât," he looked away, causing Ji Mingqianâs lipstick to miss its mark.
"She doesnât count."
"What are you saying, that Jiuliang isnât a woman?"
"No, sheâs not; sheâs one of the guys," Ji Mingqian stated frankly.
"Hurry up, weâre almost at the restaurant. Just apply the lipstick; worst case, Iâll let you do mine when we get back."
Saying this, Ji Mingqian held down his hand, using brute force to restrain him.
"Ji Mingqian, youâd better remember what youâve said," Jiang Yisheng gave up struggling, grinding his teeth.
This guy was definitely his nemesis.
Ji Mingqian nodded absently, applying the lipstick to him with a practiced air.
Luckily he had witnessed make-up artists working often enough on normal days, or he really wouldnât have known where to start.
They were so close that the warmth of the other personâs breath fanned across his face, and the hidden tips of his ears under the long hair stealthily heated up, making Jiang Yisheng instinctively shrink his neck.
The next second, his chin was suddenly gripped, and Ji Mingqian said, "Donât move."
Jiang Yisheng stiffened, lowering his gaze, avoiding his eyes.
"Done," said Ji Mingqian, returning to his seat, looking with satisfaction at the color of the lips that had turned from a sheer watery shade to a subtle pink. He put away the lipstick contentedly.
He boasted, "I do have the potential to be a makeup artist."
Jiang Yisheng couldnât be bothered with his self-praise, pulling out his phone to check whether he had deliberately drawn all over his face.
Chu Chen drove fast, and in no time, they arrived at the restaurant.
After parking the car in the garage, the trio entered the restaurant through the VIP entrance.
This was a Western restaurant that Ji Mingqian and his friends frequented; they were regulars. To ensure the smooth progression of events, Ji Mingqian had even specially reserved the second floor.
