"Where are you headed these next couple of days?" Li Mochan put some greens into her bowl and asked with a deep voice.
Ye Jiuliang twisted her mouth corner, "I thought youâd lost interest."
Li Mochan pursed his lips and remained silent.
Ye Jiuliang picked up the greens, eating slowly, "To M country, fancy coming with me?"
He raised an eyebrow and countered, "Do you dare leave without me?"
Noticing the threat in his tone, Ye Jiuliang chuckled.
"What if I donât bring you along, you gonna flirt with some young ladies or what?"
Li Mochan looked at her with a half-smile, "Looking for trouble again?"
"..."
Ye Jiuliang silently bowed her head to eat. When he made trouble, it was no small affair, and her old back couldnât take the torment.
A satisfied smile curled at the corner of Li Mochanâs mouth.
**
The concert started on time at 7:30 PM, with the stadium packed and the atmosphere explosive.
Li Mochan and Ye Jiuliang arrived while the concert had already begun. The change from the usual smooth singing voice to a now slightly husky, lowered pitch also carried a touch of lazinessâit was particularly captivating.
Ye Jiuliang was stunned by Jiang Yishengâs live singing for the first time.
The man on stage was clad in a blue and white suit, his shirt collar undone to reveal a smooth collarbone. His slightly curly hair was messy yet unrestrained, adding a rogue charm to his elegance.
"Done." After recording the video, Ye Jiuliang opened the chat with Veya and hit send.
Putting away her phone, she turned back to the stage, only to have her vision suddenly obscured.
A warm hand covered her face, and Ye Jiuliang smiled helplessly, "Li Mochan, what are you up to now?"
"Youâve been looking too long." He sounded downright sour.
Ye Jiuliang pulled his hand away and rolled her eyes at him, "Please, thatâs your cousin, and besides, weâre here for the concert, are we supposed to watch it with our eyes closed?"
As she spoke, she grabbed a glow stick from beside her and stuffed it into his hand, coaxing him with a suppressed laugh, "Here you go, stop making a fuss."
It was pretty obvious she was coddling him like a childâMister Li was a thousand times unwilling.
He snatched the glow stick and tossed it aside, then pulled her into his embrace.
Looking at the glow stick lying on the chair, Ye Jiuliang asked with a mix of laughter and helplessness, "Whyâd you throw it away?"
"Childish."
Ye Jiuliang pouted and muttered, "Youâre just no fun."
The concert was in full swing, violin, piano, guitarâJiang Yisheng pretty much played them all, exciting the fans to the point where their screams almost blew the roof off.
Halfway through, Ye Jiuliang got hungry and tugged at Li Mochan to sneak out and find something to eat.
They were seated in the VIP section, and the dim lighting didnât draw much attention.
As the night deepened, the bustling streets were brilliantly lit, with cars speeding past.
Without driving, the two of them strolled hand in hand through the streets.
Approaching the plaza, they saw a group of elderly ladies dancing, with the bewitching music prompting some nearby kids to join in the dance.
Ye Jiuliang caught sight of the public bikes parked under the trees and immediately felt intrigued.
However, there was something she needed to confirm first, "Mohan, can you ride a bike?"
Meeting her sparkling eyes, Li Mochanâs heart skipped a beat.
Ride a bike?
Was she serious?
"Iâve never seen you ride a bike before; could it be that you donât know how?" Ye Jiuliang sized him up, suppressing a laugh at the corner of her lips.
Without a word, Li Mochan pulled her around to leave, changing the subject abruptly, "Thereâs food over there, letâs go check it out."
Ye Jiuliang laughed unkindly, digging her feet in and refusing to move.
