"Have some soup." Li Mochan filled a bowl with soup and placed it in front of her.
Ye Jiuliang didnāt hold back and picked up the spoon to drink the soup.
"Mr. Li, wonāt you have a drink?" Mo Su looked at Li Mochanās untouched glass, with a gentle voice, neither flattering nor fawning.
Knowing that Li Mochan wouldnāt acknowledge her, Ye Jiuliang spoke up for him, "Heās driving."
"Mo Yuan, this fish dish is good, eat more of it," Mo Yu said softly, as she placed a pair of chopsticks full of fish meat into Mo Yuanās bowl, "Your wound hasnāt healed yet, so eat less of the fried food."
Her every action was like that of a gentle and virtuous good wife.
Mo Yuan responded with a nonchalant hum, but his chopsticks consciously avoided the fish meat she had put in his bowl.
After Ye Jiuliang made a fool of herself a few times, even if Mo Yu wasnāt quick-witted, she wouldnāt rashly open her mouth anymore.
The meal was rather peaceful.
Exiting the restaurant, the night wind felt even cooler.
Li Mochan draped his coat over her shoulders and looked up at Mo Yuan, "Mr. Mo, weāll be leaving first."
"Next time when weāre free, Iāll invite you both for another meal." Mo Yuan curved his lips into a light smile, his gaze sweeping past the person beside him, the mirth in his eyes deepening a bit more.
What a humorous little girl, Li Mochan was indeed fortunate.
Ye Jiuliang, sucking on a lollipop, waved at Mo Yuan, catching a glimpse of Mo Yuās slightly annoyed expression from the corner of her eye. Her red lips curved slightly, "Mr. Mo, next time you come to the capital, weāll host you. There are plenty of good restaurants in the capital."
Mo Yuan smiled and agreed.
The two walked down the steps, with Li Mochan opening the car door for Ye Jiuliang who bent down to get into the car.
Mo Yu watched the car shrink into the distance, clenching her jaw tightly.
Mo Yuan was acting too out of character tonight, his attention towards Ye Jiuliang was too much. If this continued, it could not go on, Ye Jiuliang must leave.
"Itās getting late; you go back to the hotel first. I need to make a trip to the branch office," Mo Yuan suddenly turned around, his smile fading just a bit at the corners of his lips.
"Itās already so late and you still want to go to the office, plus youāre injured," Mo Yu frowned, disapprovingly.
"Why donāt you let Mo Su handle the company matters? You can go back with me first."
"No need for that, you and Mo Su go back first, thereās a meeting waiting for me at the company." Mo Yuan refused flatly, his steps firm as he descended the stairs.
Not far away, Hong Li had already driven over and was waiting.
"Mo..." Rage surged in Mo Yuās heart, but before she could speak, her arm was suddenly grabbed.
Turning around, she met Mo Suās comforting eyes, "Mo Su, why are you holding me back?"
"Mom, this is a public place, donāt easily destroy the family youāve worked so hard to build with your own hands," Mo Su whispered calmly, persuasively, "The urgent task is to deal with Ye Jiuliang, not to argue with Dad."
Right, she was correct; as long as they got rid of Ye Jiuliang, what else was there to worry about?
Mo Suās eyes narrowed slightly, a trace of ruthlessness passing through their depths.
**
After being beaten by Ye Jiuliang, Mo Lingling seldom caused trouble and quietly stayed at home to recuperate.
After dinner, as usual, she watched TV in the living room.
The doorbell suddenly rang, causing a thump in her heart.
She glanced out the window; the oppressive dark sky added to her fear.
Clenching her phone tightly, she cautiously approached the door.
"Who is it?"
"Itās me, Chu Chen."
The familiar voice reached her ears, and Mo Lingās eyes lit up with joy as she hurried to open the door.
"Chu Chen."
Seeing the man standing at the door, Mo Linglingās face burst into a radiant smile, and she almost wanted to throw herself at him.
She restrained her excitement and reached out to pull his arm, "Chu Chen, why are you here? Come in quickly."
Qin Yi resisted the urge to twist her hand away and rolled his eyes where she couldnāt see.
Boss, you really have thrown me into a pit.
After making Chu Chen sit down on the sofa, Mo Lingling was bustling about, offering tea and snacks.
"Chu Chen, have you eaten? Do you want me to make you something to eat?"
"No need, I came here because I have something to ask you." Qin Yi put the cup back on the table and spoke coldly.
"Please, take a seat first."
The smile on Mo Linglingās face stiffened as she sat down opposite him.
She attempted to use a light-hearted tone to ease the atmosphere, "Whatās the matter? Youāre so serious."
"The last time you said that Anuo and Aqian were together, Iāve seen the photo, and itās not edited." Qin Yiās voice was calm.
At these words, Mo Lingling nodded, secretly gleeful inside.
"Chu Chen, I know this matter has hit you hard, thatās why I didnāt dare tell you," she said as she stood up and walked around the table toward him.
She slowly squatted down, took his hand, and spoke with heartfelt emotion, "Chu Chen, it doesnāt matter if they have left, you still have me. I will always be by your side. Iāve been the one who cares about you the most ever since we were young. Canāt you feel it?"
"Did you really see with your own eyes that the two of them were together?" Qin Yi suppressed the impulse to shake off her hand and asked with his head down.
Mo Lingling nodded, and seeing that Chu Chen hadnāt shaken off her hand, her heart was filled with even more secret delight, "They have been together for a while, Iāve always felt that they were too close on the island before, but I never expected that they had gotten together privately."
Qin Yi suddenly went silent, plunging the atmosphere into an awkward hiatus.
Mo Lingling, uncommonly quiet, gripped his hand tightly.
After a moment, Qin Yi lifted his head with a desolate expression. His voice hoarse, he said, "Could you join me for a drink?"
Concealing a smile at the corner of her lips, Mo Lingling stood up, "Sure, wait for me. Iāll go get the wine and glasses."
Tonight, even the heavens were helping her; she must take advantage of this opportunity to make a done deal, and then Chu Chen and Gu Xinuo would no longer have any hope of getting back together.
Watching her go into the kitchen, Qin Yi quickly shook off his hand as if to rid himself of Mo Linglingās touch.
He looked around, took out his phone, and pressed Ji Mingqianās designed software to confirm there were no surveillance cameras in the room, finally relaxing.
Hearing footsteps approaching, Qin Yi placed his phone on the table and then resumed looking dejected and sorrowful.
At that moment, Mo Lingling came out of the kitchen, holding two glasses in one hand and the bottle of wine in the other.
Seeing Chu Chen with his head down, Mo Linglingās lips curled up slightly as she quickened her pace towards him.
"Chu Chen, I know youāre hurting inside, but donāt be too sad. It worries me to see you like this," she said as she poured a glass of wine and set it in front of him.
"If youāre feeling upset about anything, just talk to me. Iām always here for you, and Iāll keep you company if you want to drink."
Qin Yi picked up the wine glass and sniffed it subtly, a glint flashing in the depths of his eyes.
"My phone is about to die. Can you lend me a charger?"
"Sure, hold on." Mo Lingling glanced at his phoneās make and turned to rummage through the drawers.
Seizing the moment, Qin Yi flicked his fingertip, and a green pill dropped into the glass. He then swapped his glass with Mo Linglingās.
It was daring of her, Mo Lingling, to rub the powdered drug on the inside wall of the glass, to let the powdered drug melt into the wine while pouring it, she sure had some intelligence.
