She let go, and Ye Xin hadnāt yet come to her senses, staring at Xiang Zhen with a vacant look as if she had been startled.
After the lecture, Xiang Zhenās tone became a few degrees warmer, "Ye Xin, your top priority right now is to get your marriage certificate with Li Jingjie as soon as possible. Stop causing any more trouble."
Ye Xin had a wronged expression and nodded reluctantly.
...
Having not returned to the company for a long time, a pile of documents awaited Li Mochanās attention.
After dinner, Li Mochan finally came to pick up Ye Jiuliang.
Entering the living room, he saw Ye Jiuliang munching on an apple by herself, her smile unconsciously appearing at the corners of her mouth.
"Youāre here," Ye Jiuliang said upon seeing him, put down her apple, and got up to greet him.
"Have you eaten?"
Li Mochan reached out to embrace her and gently pecked her lips, "I have."
"Liar," Ye Jiuliang glared at him, "I just called Wei Bei."
He had obviously come straight back from the meeting without even touching his lunchbox.
Wei Bei, that big mouth, Li Mochan complained inwardly.
He smiled and planned to brush it off, "Wei Bei is talking nonsense, donāt believe him."
"Itās you whoās talking nonsense," Ye Jiuliang said as she playfully slapped his shoulder, "Come on, letās go eat."
Li Mochan chuckled softly, raising his eyes to look around the living room, "Whereās dad? Why are you here alone?"
"He took a phone call, probably has a video conference at the company. Heās in the study," she explained.
Li Mochan raised his hand to rub her head, "Letās go say hello, and then weāll head home."
Ye Jiuliang hummed in agreement and pulled him upstairs.
After greeting Ye Yuan, the two left in the car.
On the way, Ye Jiuliang was already ordering takeout for Li Mochan on her phone.
Knowing he canāt eat spicy, Ye Jiuliang placed an order for him directly from Jiangyue Restaurant.
"Ye Familyās old master brought people over to our place, he didnāt say anything?" His deep voice echoed in the car, the lilt in the tail of his words carrying a hint of amusement.
Ye Jiuliang put away her phone and cocked her mouth, "Nothing much, just the same old stuff, worried that my dad holds a grudge and might make a move against the Ye Family."
"Did you talk back to him?" Li Mochan teased.
He knew all too well the firepower his little wolf cub had; no ordinary person could get the better of her.
Ye Jiuliang gave him a sidelong glance, "Iām very kind, alright? How could I possibly talk back to anyone?"
Watching her earnestly spouting nonsense, Li Mochan couldnāt help but laugh silently.
The Ye Family had truly met their match in his little wolf cub.
"Where do you want to go tomorrow?"
Ye Jiuliang propped her head with one hand and asked lazily, "No meetings?"
Li Mochan hummed in affirmation, "No need for meetings these next few days. Where do you want to go have fun?"
"I want to go see a motorcycle race," Ye Jiuliang smacked her lips, her longing for her big motorcycle surfacing.
"I heard thereās a race in the suburbs tomorrow, shall we go see it?" As she spoke, her eyes sparkled with anticipation while looking at Li Mochan.
Knowing she had not indulged in motorcycling for months and was nearly going stir-crazy, Li Mochan readily agreed to her small request.
"Alright."
Ye Jiuliang stretched languorously and smiled with satisfaction.
She would finally get to see a race; while she couldnāt participate, it was enough to whet her appetite for now.
Li Mochan glanced at her, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepening.
Seeing her this happy about a race, he realized he really had let her get too bored.
As they passed the night market, Li Mochan asked, "Want to eat anything? I could stop by and buy it for you."
Ye Jiuliang shook her head, "I ate too much tonight already."
They had hot pot for dinner; even though it wasnāt spicy, it was still incredibly satisfying.
