Veya smiled, her gaze falling on Jiang Yisheng, "Asheng, werenāt you supposed to be filming this morning?"
Looking at his parents sitting across from him, Jiang Yisheng felt tremendous pressure. He smiled faintly and said, "Iāll leave after breakfast."
"What time will the filming end? Can you make it back for lunch?"
"Weāre rushing today, so I probably wonāt make it back. There are many fun places in City J, you and Dad should go explore. Staying at the hotel would be boring."
Veya nodded, her voice gentle, "You just focus on work, donāt worry about us. I looked up several spots last night, so Dad and I will just go explore by ourselves."
Upon hearing this, Ji Mingqianās eyes brightened, and he immediately changed his mind.
"Aunt, if you encounter any issues, just give me a call," he said.
Veya hummed a response, raising her coffee to take a sip, and inadvertently noticed the clothes Ji Mingqian was wearing.
She put the cup back down, surprised, "It seems Asheng has a similar one. Did you two buy them together?"
Jiang Yisheng silently cursed, breaking out in a cold sweat, racking his brain on how to smooth over this matter.
"No, itās an item from a brand weāre friendly with. Many of the clothes they send are similar," Ji Mingqian replied calmly.
"No wonder, I thought that shirt looked familiar," Veya realized.
Ji Mingqian smiled nonchalantly, feeling relieved inside.
"Ahai, why arenāt you eating?"
Jiang Hai put down his cup, concealing the complexity in his eyes, and smiled, "No, I was just thinking about something. Letās eat."
Veya nodded, easily believing him, then continued chatting with Jiang Yisheng.
Ji Mingqian put down his chopsticks, picked up his coffee and took a sip, then whispered to him, "This coffee is terrible, yours is much better."
Jiang Yisheng smiled slightly, quietly saying, "Pay me, and I might consider brewing you some."
"Stingy," Ji Mingqian rolled his eyes.
The two whispered to each other, treating the Jiang parents as invisible.
Jiang Hai noticed, feeling an increasingly strong sense of foreboding.
After a while, Wen Rang came over to pick him up.
"Dad, Mom, Iām off," Jiang Yisheng packed his bag, glanced at Jiang Hai and his wife, and said gently.
"Be careful on the road," Veya habitually instructed.
Jiang Yisheng hummed in response, stood up, and slung his bag over his shoulder.
"Yisheng, why arenāt you wearing a hat?" Wen Rang reminded.
Jiang Yisheng raised his hand to touch his face, realizing heād forgotten his hat and mask.
"I forgot to bring them down, let me run upstairs and get them, wait for me."
At those words, a black baseball cap was handed to him, "No need to take a trip, just wear mine."
Jiang Yisheng looked up at him, his thin lips curled, and he unabashedly took the cap and put it on backwards, "Iāll return it when Iām back."
Wen Rang greeted Jiang Hai and his wife, then turned to Ji Mingqian, "Brother Qian, weāre off."
Ji Mingqian hummed, waving his hand.
"Mingqian, that Asheng has quite a reserved personality, but you two seem to get along well," Jiang Hai subtly opened the topic.
Ji Mingqian chuckled dryly, his answer impeccable, "Not bad. Weāre all young people, lots of topics to chat about."
"Mingqian, what kind of girl do you like? Iāll introduce someone," Veya suddenly interjected, her eyes sparkling, making Ji Mingqianās scalp tingle.
"Aunt, Iām in no rush," he said.
"Youāre the same age as Ahan, and heās already married. You should find a girlfriend first, no rush to marry," Veya said with a matchmaking aura in her smile.
"Thank you for your offer, Aunt, but Iām really not in a rush," Ji Mingqian politely declined.
Thinking he was just being polite, Veya said, "No need to be polite, leave it to me. Iāll find you a good one."
Ji Mingqian felt on pins and needles, thinking if he stayed any longer, heād get dragged to a matchmaking event.
He suddenly stood up, "Uh, Aunt, I just remembered I have something to do, so Iāll leave first. Call me if you need anything."
With that, he slipped away quickly.
Veya was stunned for a moment, wondering why his reaction was the same as Ashengās; it wasnāt as if she was forcing them to marry, why run away so fast?
"Ahai, shall we head out too?"
She waited a moment, but no one responded.
Veya turned her head to look at the person beside her, only to see him lost in thought.
She touched his hand, "Ahai."
Jiang Hai snapped back, "What is it?"
"Youāve been distracted all day. Did something happen?" Veya asked worriedly.
Jiang Hai shook his head, "No, letās go."
Noticing the empty seats across, he asked, "Mingqian left too?"
"He just left, ran off after hearing me say Iād introduce him to someone," Veya said, half amused.
The smile on Jiang Haiās face faded, muttering to himself, "Really?"
"Stop dawdling, letās go," Veya urged.
Jiang Hai nodded, got up, and followed her out.
...
The sun came out, and the street returned to its usual hustle and bustle.
Ye Jiuliang lightly kicked a stone with his toe, occasionally glancing at the long line outside a store across the street.
In the long line, a tall figure stood out prominently.
The overly handsome face frequently drew othersā attention, and some even recognized his identity; the murmurs and exclamations grew louder.
The scene bordered on chaotic.
"Isnāt that the CEO of MK Group?"
"Am I seeing things? Thatās the CEO of MK Group, and Iāve actually seen him."
"Pinch me to see if this is real."
Everyone murmured, their gazes fixed on that graceful figure, barely able to hide their excitement.
