"OK." The stylist withdrew his hand and snapped his fingers.
Jiang Yisheng never cared about these things; he didnât even look in the mirror. He tugged at his collar, stood up, and headed out. "Wen Rang, letâs go."
"Alright." Over on the sofa, Wen Rang hurriedly packed his bag and, along with his assistant, quickly followed him out.
When they reached the beach, and from a distance, Jiang Yisheng saw the person standing next to Director Zhang, a flicker of shadow crossed his eyes.
At this moment, Director Zhang waved at him and called out loudly, "Yisheng, youâre just in time. Come over and listen to the filming sequence for later."
"Yisheng, you go ahead, Iâll go put the stuff away," Wen Rang said.
Jiang Yisheng nodded and walked over.
As Jiang Yishengâs elegant figure came closer, Ji Mingqian absentmindedly listened to Director Zhang speak.
"Yisheng, later you two will each have a jet ski, just like a race. Youâll be circling on the sea, and weâll be filming. You can be more casual; donât worry about the cameras," Director Zhang said.
He never liked actors posing too deliberately for the camera. That kind of staging was what he disliked the most.
"Oh, you both know how to ride jet skis, right? Do you want to practice with a coach first?"
"No need, we know how." Ji Mingqian replied first.
Director Zhang smiled, "All right then, the jet skis are over there. You two get ready, and weâll start shooting in ten minutes."
With that, he walked away towards the production staff.
"Letâs go." Ji Mingqian put his hands in his pockets, kicked off his sandals, and walked barefoot on the sand.
Jiang Yisheng nodded slightly, walking slowly beside him.
"You said before we should race jet skis, looks like nowâs the time," Ji Mingqian said, glancing at the blue sky with a smile.
Jiang Yisheng responded with a hum.
"Do you need me to go easy on you?" Ji Mingqianâs smile carried a hint of teasing.
Jiang Yisheng turned his head, finally meeting his gaze directly, "No need."
Even if heâd lose, he didnât need him to hold back.
Unknowingly, the atmosphere between them warmed up, unlike the earlier awkwardness.
Ji Mingqian chuckled, "Pretty confident?"
Jiang Yisheng snorted lightly, his tone proud, "Donât underestimate me."
For a moment, Ji Mingqian was dazed, as if they had gone back to before they lost contact.
He pulled back his thoughts and casually asked, "Whenâs the concert?"
"Next month." After saying that, the smile on Jiang Yishengâs lips froze.
For a moment, he tilted his head to look at him, pretending to ask nonchalantly, "Coming to support?"
Feeling a bit tense inside after saying that.
Ji Mingqianâs pace unconsciously slowed down, and he grinned, "Sure, Iâll book thirty tickets in advance."
"Thirty tickets?" Jiang Yisheng was taken aback, "Why do you need so many tickets?"
"Employee benefits."
Jiang Yisheng suddenly understood, it was for Chen Xin and the others.
"Any discounts?" Ji Mingqian moved slightly closer, almost imperceptibly closing the distance between them.
Jiang Yishengâs eyes filled with a smile, his tone even more lighthearted and relaxed, "Five percent off, does that count?"
"Stingy." Ji Mingqianâs mouth twitched, he complained.
Jiang Yisheng laughed, nudging the sand with his toe, watching the sand spill over Ji Mingqianâs foot. Satisfied, he smiled, "Iâm stingy? Why didnât you say that when I rented out a whole cinema for you?"
Ji Mingqian laughed helplessly, shaking off the sand from his leg.
"Big boss, these are your jet skis," Chen Xin, who was talking with the coach, said gently when he saw them approaching.
"Check if thereâs anything wrong with them."
Ji Mingqian walked up casually to one of the jet skis, climbed on, his agile movements showed he was quite at ease, clearly a pro.
After a quick check, he jumped down and looked at Jiang Yisheng, "This oneâs for you."
Jiang Yisheng was stunned for a moment, then realized and agreed.
In the distance, Director Zhang held a megaphone and shouted, "Everyone get ready, weâre starting filming."
Ji Mingqian mounted the jet ski, looking at Jiang Yisheng with a playful smile, "Want to make a bet?"
"Bet on what?" Jiang Yisheng tentatively asked, not immediately agreeing.
"Your coffee," Ji Mingqian said, eyeing him intently without hesitation.
Coffee?
Jiang Yishengâs eyes quivered slightly, his voice stuck in his throat.
"Come on, do you agree or not? Filmingâs about to start," Ji Mingqian urged, afraid heâd take too long to answer.
Jiang Yisheng lowered his head and finally nodded.
"All right."
Ji Mingqian smiled with satisfaction, then added, "If I lose, Iâll make sure you meet Erbao today."
Upon hearing this, a light flickered in Jiang Yishengâs eyes, was Erbao also here?
Before he could inquire, Director Zhangâs voice came again, "Action, Mingqian, Yisheng, you can start now."
Ji Mingqian turned to Jiang Yisheng, provoking, "Two laps, whoever gets back first wins."
Jiang Yisheng nodded, agreeing.
The two exchanged a glance, Ji Mingqianâs lips parted slightly, and he shouted, "Go."
Before the words were out, both jet skis shot forward at the same time, splashing massive sprays of water.
"Splashâ"
Chen Xin was busy admiring her handsome idol Jiang, and was soaked before she could dodge in time.
"Oh my, geez."
Out in the vast sea, the two white jet skis raced fiercely, leaving the filming crew far behind, struggling to keep up.
The cold seawater splashed onto their faces, making the crew miserable, holding onto the camera with one hand and clutching the coachâs shirt with the other to avoid falling off.
"Mingqian, Yisheng, slow down!"
The photographer among them shouted at the top of his voice.
But the sea breeze was too strong, along with the sound of waves, the voices couldnât reach their ears.
Moreover, with a bet at stake, both of them were completely absorbed in the competition, and the filming was long forgotten.
Ji Mingqian glanced to the side at the person keeping pace with him. The speed was nearly on par with his own.
Impressed by Jiang Yishengâs fast progress, he smiled, feeling that he had indeed put in effort in practicing these past months.
He used to scold him for riding a jet ski like a rocket, but now heâs no different.
"Not bad, no wonder you said you didnât need me to hold back." He raised his voice, teasing.
"Says who?" Jiang Yisheng retorted petulantly, not backing down.
"Need me to go easy on you?"
Ji Mingqian couldnât help but laugh, "Give it up, just watch yourself, beating me wonât be that easy."
"Weâll see," Jiang Yisheng threw down the challenge, increasing his speed to the max, finally taking the lead.
While the two were having a blast, the photographers had a hard time, the shooting difficulty kept increasing, making it impossible to shoot properly.
In the end, they had to rely on drones for filming, close-up shots would have to wait until the two slowed down.
