[5 Minutes Before The Announcement - Gravity Planet - Klausâs POV]
"Almost there," Klaus said, taking one of the three steps left to reach the peak of the mountain that stood at the boundary between the second and third layer.
He was sweating profusely; however, the look of determination could be seen in his eyes. He was pushing himself beyond the limit, making sure he broke that limit he had met the moment he awakened the second seal.
About 11 days ago, after climbing the 24th mountain, he managed to awaken the second seal on the âHeavenâs Engine.â However, he decided to put that aside for now and chase after the third seal.
Thus, he started climbing more mountains, heading closer to the 3rd layer. He aimed for the third seal, and after spending 11 days climbing 15 more mountains, making it 39 mountains he had climbed since he began training on this planet, Klaus sensed the third seal, and his mastery was also nearing the Adept level.
Thus, he had been climbing the 40th mountain, and while he was still inside the 2nd layer, he was sweating rather profusely, in fact.
"Almost there," Klaus was left with two more steps to take, but his body was at its limit.
Yet Klaus didnât want to give up.
He couldnât give up.
Not when he was almost at the stage he wanted to be.
If he reached the Adept level in Weight Suppression, he wouldnât only be able to control weights more effectively, but he would be able to exert some form of authority that would allow him to move much faster.
Aside from that, he would be able to increase and decrease the weight of the weapons he held in his hands. Basically, if he wanted to make a needle weigh several tons, he could easily do it when he reached the adept level.
Klaus was giving it his all, and slowly, he was left with only one step to take.
"Almost there," he said, the same thing for the third time, as against all odds and resistance, he lifted his foot.
"AAaaaarrrgggHHHH!"
Klaus screamed as blood dripped from his nose. He was at his limit, but his resolve still burned brighter, refusing to deem.
His bones were at their limit, and even lifting that last leg to stand at the peak was like his legs didnât want to kick.
However, knowing who he was up against, Klaus gave it his all, and with a resolve that refused to die, he slowly stepped onto the mountain.
BOOM.
A powerful energy burst out of his body the moment he stepped on the mountain.
Klaus suddenly felt his body grow lighter. However, it didnât end there. Just when he stepped to the peak of the mountain, the âHeavenâs Engineâ activated on its own, appearing in the air.
This time, instead of just one ring, three appeared, layering over the other. From the inside, the first ring maintained the brown color.
However, the second, though still brown, had this golden shine to it. It also had many markings on it, shining with a deeper golden hue.
As for the new one being the third, it was also brown, but it had a bluish tint to it. Similar to the first and second rings, it also had markings on it.
Klaus sat down on the mountain and panted for a few minutes before lying on his back, a smile on his face.
He had achieved what he was after; however, it wasnât the reason why he held a smile on his face.
The smile came from the message hovering before his eyes, written in red.
The system panel that shows for everyone is green; however, Klausâs was white, and the writings were done using the color red.
âȘHeavenâs Notice: Your planet Earth #616 has reached the awakening limit. You have been picked as the defenders to compete with Planet Nebu #3696. You have 60 days to prepare. The countdown starts now.â«
The standard message sent to everyone was also sent to Klaus. However, there was an additional message addressed to him alone.
âȘYou survived the last time, Paragon. Can you survive again?â«
The message was simple and direct. Klaus, who should have been frowning at the moment, held a smile on his face.
"One thing about the rules is that the moment they are set, they cannot be broken. You have already paired us against Planet Nebu, meaning you canât change it again.
This also means you canât interfere anymore. However, you fools, do you really think I have revealed all my trump cards?"
Klaus could feel the weather changing. He knew it was the heavensâ way of telling him they were listening.
"If I am not wrong, this planet, Nebu, is several times bigger than Earth and has more warriors than us. However, knowing you, I know for a fact that you have already schemed something, which is giving you the confidence.
Of course, I wouldnât think I could easily handle you. However, the easy win you are aiming for wonât happen because I wonât allow it.
You thinking you can kill me wonât happen because, unlike you idiots, I am the Paragon; I donât follow your rules. So wait, 60 days from today, I wonât even allow you to touch the hair on even one warrior under my command."
A mocking smile appeared on Klausâs face.
"You nearly brought me to my knees back then, but this time around, I will show you what true strength looks like."
âȘGood luck, Paragon. You are going to need it.â«
Klaus smiled, but inwardly, he didnât like the response he received from the heavens.
âI need to prepare, for they have prepared well this time. My brag didnât touch them, and that is all the confirmation I was looking for.â
Klaus looked at the countdown start, and at that very moment, he knew what he had been training for all these years was now upon him.
"The game is on." Even knowing the heavens seemed rather calm this time, Klaus had also made plans and was waiting for this very moment to implement them.
He didnât know how the heavens worked on pairing worlds for the awakening. However, he knew for a fact that they would do anything to counter whatever he had under his sleeve.
This was the main reason Klaus didnât show much of his strength, nor any other thing that he planned on using for the awakening.
For someone who doesnât follow the rules, he sure knows the rules to the last dot. Since the matchup had already been made, the heavens cannot change anything.
Before the matchup, they had several strategies to counter Klaus; however, now that the match has been made, it is Klausâs turn to get to work.
If he wants to make the heavens cry blood, then he must start somewhere. Now, his time has come, and 60 days is more than enough to implement his plans.
Klaus looked deep into the third and fourth layers. "I will come back before the awakening."
With a determined smile, Klaus vanished and appeared back on Earth. There was chaos everywhere when he arrived. So he quickly found Princess Eshira for an emergency broadcast.
