“Watch out!” Ye Mo shouted instinctively.

The cold and elegant black-clothed lady raised her head and thrust with the long spear in her hands. The long black spear turned into a black light that pierced the lower jaw of the large creature.

Clang!

That long spear couldn’t penetrate the large creature’s defense at all. The spear hit the beast’s skin, making a sound like metal crashing on metal.

Realizing that the situation didn’t look good, the lady dodged and tried to stay away from the large creature.

“What big guts you have to be disturbing my sleep. Both of you will have to die.”

A frightening roar echoed through the gorge as that huge dark shadow stretched out its body. It was an enormous ox king that stood at least a hundred feet tall. He held a huge golden ax in one of its massive hands, its golden light shining.

“Ye Mo, let’s run,” Hong Ling said right away. “This ox king’s power is at least on par with that of a seven-star castellan. He also has a very strong defense that can’t be broken even with a mid-grade Celestial Weapon, unless you possess the ability of a seven-star castellan.”

“There’s no rush. Let’s watch, for now. Even if I did run, you think that ox king can catch up to me?”

Ye Mo stared at the enormous ox king.

He wanted to have a look at just how good this black-clothed lady’s spear skills were. If she was a seven-star castellan, then her spear skills must be impressive.

“Both of us?”

The black-clothed lady wondered out loud. She saw Ye Mo in an instant and said to him, “Leave, now. This isn’t a place for you. If you’re looking for some cheap thrills here, it’s not going to be that easy.”

After saying that, she waved her arms, a bunch of weapons fell in from a corner of the gorge and dropped into a messy pile beside Ye Mo. They were all mid-grade celestial weapons, and there were a bunch of them.

“Little ones, go and kill that man. I’ll kill this woman here.”

When the ox king saw that the woman had flung his whole weapon collection right in front of Ye Mo, he ordered his subordinates to surround him at once.

It was exactly as the lady had told him. If he wanted to earn some cheap thrills here, it wasn’t going to be that easy.

“Those weapons are perfect for Hong Ling to absorb to upgrade to a mid-grade celestial weapon. But, if you want me to leave, I won’t be leaving.”

With a motion of his hand, Ye Mo pulled all of the celestial weapons into his domain.

If Hong Ling absorbed a substantial amount of mid-grade celestial weapons, the Sky Blood Spear would get an upgrade. Once she absorbed all the celestial weapons such as these knives, swords, bows, and crossbows that got pulled into Ye Mo’s domain, the upgrading would depend on the ability of the Sky Blood Spear itself to devour the spirits of these weapons.

Within the mountain gorge, two separate circles emerged clearly.

One was the battle between the ox king and the black-clothed lady, which almost resembled the pairing of beauty and the beast. It was just that this beast was extremely ferocious, and with a swing of that golden ax of his, a shine of golden ray shot out and split a huge mountain in front of them in two. It also resulted in the formation of a long and large ravine on the ground.

Even the black-clothed lady had to withdraw temporarily.

The other circle was a group of ancient beasts that had surrounded Ye Mo. All Ye Mo could do was activate his Zhu Immortal Domain and envelope himself in it. With all the ancient beasts attacking his Zhu Immortal Domain unceasingly, a crack had already formed in it.

“He really doesn’t know how dangerous this is.”

Seeing that Ye Mo had been surrounded by the beasts, the black-clothed lady pulled herself out of her battle. With a swing of her spear, a gleam of spear ray killed the ancient beasts that had trapped Ye Mo, opening up an escape path for him.

“This woman’s actions are the complete opposite of her words,” Ling’er said lightly. “Since she’s opened up a path for you, we’d better escape soon.”

“If we don’t leave now, we won’t be able to leave at all,” Hong Ling said. “If I want to upgrade to a mid-grade celestial weapon, I’ll need at least an hour. Do you think you can hang on for an hour more?”

Even if Ye Mo’s Profound Dragon Powers were powerful enough, he would certainly not be able to persist for another hour. These beasts had strong defenses, and, even if he enwrapped his spear with the Profound Dragon, he definitely wouldn’t be unable to break through their defenses.

“Once you’ve upgraded to a mid-grade celestial weapon, we’ll rush back here again.”

Ye Mo spread his Red Dragon Wings and, with a flap of his wings, headed down the path that the black-clothed lady had opened up for them. He escaped from the gorge, leaving the ancient beasts with no chance of catching up to him.

Once the Sky Blood Spear had upgraded to become a mid-grade celestial weapon, slaying those ancient beasts would be as easy as slaughtering a cow.

“What a greedy punk who’s afraid of death.”

As the black-clothed lady finished talking, the spear in her hand shook intensely and transformed into dozens of long black spears that lined up in the shape of a handheld fan, and launched towards the ox king.

Clang, clang, clang!

The clang of metal clashing sounded as the ox king’s body was bombarded by the long spears, but they all bounced right off on impact.

“Of all the participants in the Battle of the Thousand Cities, your skills are considered to be that of a seven-star castellan, but it’s a pity that that weapon of yours is too weak,” the ox king said. “If your weapon was a mid-grade celestial weapon, you’d have been able to wound me significantly. Since you’ve caused me to lose a great deal of my magical treasures, I have no choice but to take your life.”

With a loud cry and a lurch of his body, the ox king swung his golden ax down, as though he was about to split the earth apart, toward the black-clothed lady.

The lady moved aside and dodged in an instant. A large ravine was once again formed in the gorge as the ox king’s attack missed. It was an attack so powerful that even a seven-star castellan like she wouldn’t have it good if she’d gotten hit by it.

However, strong the ox king might be, it was a large creature after all. The lady took advantage of her nimble body as she searched for the ox king’s weak area.

He wouldn’t allow her to discover his weak points so easily, though, as he was still a beast that had completed his cultivation tens of thousands of years ago.

With one on the offense and the other on the defense, both parties battled for an hour before the ox king realized that something wasn’t right.

“You’re making a fool out of me. You’re using me to achieve a breakthrough in your cultivation.”

It was impossible to determine a victor in their battle, and the lady reaped no benefits from continuing the fight with the ox king. But she lingered, as she had another motive in mind.

As of now, the black-clothed lady had already reached the level of a seven-star castellan. Thus, for her to find an opponent at a similar level to train with was obviously not an easy thing to do.

“Hmph!”

The lady laughed coldly, “I’ve already reached a bottleneck at my current level of cultivation. Only by battling will I be able to realize new things. If you obediently let me practice on you a few times, I’ll leave when I’m done.”

“Leave? You want to leave after causing me to lose my magical treasures?”

The ox king flew into a full rage as Profound Qi flared out from his large nostrils. “You think I’ve already unleashed my real power? Since you want to die, then you can stay here until the end.”

Rumble!

His body enlarged as it started to transmit Qi waves in between explosions, emitting waves in the form of concentric circles. A few of his subordinates were blown to pieces by the explosions, and the mountains in the surrounding area exploded.

“How is this possible?” The black-clothed lady looked on in shock as she saw the ox king unleash a power far stronger than it had been before.

Rumble!

Without giving the lady any time to get snap out of her surprise, the ox king unleashed yet another attack as he swung down heavily with his golden ax, emitting rays of golden light.

“Six Forms of Golden Dragon!”

Six attack forms were unleashed with one swing of the ax, and with every swing, it was as though a golden dragon soared through the horizon to strike the lady.

“Hmph!”

The black-clothed lady sneered as she flung her long black spear and released a large spear ray that flew towards the dragon with great might. But the spear ray only cut off four parts of the dragon, and she had no way to block herself from the two remaining parts.

“Sh*t!”

The lady’s face paled. A layer of condensed black armor appeared on her body as she tried to defend against the golden dragon.

But something unexpected happened – a black silhouette suddenly appeared in front of her and blocked her from the attacks of the dragon’s two remaining parts.
