âYou can run faster than you can fly? What an interesting ninja. My ants have spread out across a ten-kilometer radius. It doesnât matter how fast you run, as long as youâre within that radius, youâll be nothing but food for my ants.â
âWho says?â Hanwu bowed forward and prepared to run.
However, Liuqing wasnât willing to risk the gamble and summoned the rest of his golems. A massive golem made from clay splattered to the ground, its form more intimidating than the Explosive Bear beside it.
âCapture him to extract the Maw Giant,â Liuqing commanded. âKill the rest.â
âUnderstood,â Darcy replied, directing the black ants toward Hanwu and the rest.
Hanwu smiled and unleashed his Taijutsu. âSixth gate, open!â
A powerful air pressure blasted outward from Hanwu, either killing or blowing away the black ants around him.
âStop him!â Liuqing cried.
His clay golem pounced on Hanwu. Its sticky clay surface meant anything that came into contact with it would remain trapped forever, or until Liuqing willed it free.
The clay golem was Liuqingâs trump card against Taijutsu users. Unfortunately for him, his opponent this time was Hanwu. When the clay golem attempted to stop him, Hanwu didnât bother to fight it head-on and instead deftly avoided it.
A powerful wave of air rippled out with every step he took, killing wave after wave of black ants. Though the ants werenât strong, they were still part of the S-rated Summoning Jutsu, Black Ant Kingdom, and Hanwuâs meter filled up by a thousandth every time he killed one.
This progress was minute, but the abundance of ants around him meant he could easily slaughter thousands with a single stepâsometimes even 10,000 if he was lucky.
Hanwu wasnât about to let this chance to improve himself slip away. Running like a madman around Darcy and Liuqing, he farmed the ants, occasionally making his rounds to blow them away from Kumori and the other two as well.
Both Darcy and Liuqing were at a loss. Black Ant Kingdom couldnât get close to him, and the clay golem couldnât catch him. The way Hanwu ran circles around them had them looking like fools. Naturally, they were pissed.
âYou bastard. You forced my hand!â Darcy snarled, losing his composure. A series of hand seals later, a huge amount of chakra gathered within his body before turning into a massive summoning array.
âS-rated Summoning Jutsu: Giant Salamander!â
A massive salamander landed with a loud boom, too large to even move on land.
âGiant Salamander, use your poison mist!â Darcy commanded, putting on the gas mask he always had on hand and withdrawing the other summoned beasts.
The salamander obediently belched out a purple gas of poison, which swiftly covered the area.
Hanwu was quick, but even he couldnât avoid breathing in the purple gas. The poison entered his body, and he could feel his cells being destroyed. Fortunately, Undying regenerated new cells to replace the ones he had lost at a similar rate.
Even so, the constant process of death and regeneration happening at a cellular level was uncomfortable, and Hanwu slowed down drastically.
Darcy chuckled with pride. âMy salamanderâs poison is potent. Even a Master can only last ten minutes. You wonât last more than five with the way youâre exerting yourself. The poison will flow through your bloodstream and enter your heart. Before long, youâll find it harder to breathe and start to suffocate. Youâll suffer the worst kind of death there is.â
This was Darcyâs ultimate move, and he greatly enjoyed watching as his prey slowly suffocated in the poison mist.
Meanwhile, Hanwu realized that Undyingâs countering of the poison was rapidly filling up his meter. With Undying, he was certain that he wouldnât be poisoned to death.
Since he couldnât die, he decided to allow the poison to ravage his body further. He abruptly started running toward the giant salamander, where the poison fog was densest.
Hanwu opened his mouth wide to breathe in as much poison as possible. The more poison he took in, the faster his cells would be destroyed, and the more Undying could regenerate.
His meter increased rapidly, and he soon obtained 16 upgrade points, enough for him to upgrade an A-rated jutsu to S. Coincidentally, he had an A-rated jutsu, so he didnât hesitate to upgrade Eight Gates.
New information appeared in his mind. His body also changed. Checking the jutsu, he realized that Eight Gates had been upgraded to Flesh Ascendant. This allowed him to open all eight gates without any side effects.
This ultimately was of little use to Hanwu as Undying had a similar effect, but he couldnât reverse the upgrade. Nevertheless, he activated his newly upgraded Flesh Ascendant, and an even more powerful wave of air blasted out from Hanwu.
The purple poison mist was blown away. Darcy was caught in the gust that Hanwu had released and was pinned to the ground. âWhatâs... Going... On?â
Hanwuâs first target was Darcyâs Giant Salamander. Raising his fist, he punched it. With Flesh Ascendant in effect, his Vortex Collapsing Fist sucked the air around him into a vortex around his fist.
The Giant Salamander was eviscerated with a single punch, its body exploding into tiny flesh particles that scattered through the air.
When Darcy felt his summoned beast die, he no longer dared to make a sound, feigning death on the ground in the hopes that Hanwu would overlook him.
Liuqing had observed this series of events from his vantage point in the sky and came to the realization that he was up against a particularly powerful opponent. As a precaution, he decided to use his strongest golem. He unfurled a scroll, and it exploded into a box-shaped golem, which he tossed down at Hanwu.
Making a series of hand seals, he cried, âS-rated Golem Sealing Jutsu, Void Prison!â
