The Wicked Dragon Veritas charged into the skies above the enemy formation with ferocity. Then, it entered the Anti-Flight Domain, and it plummeted from the air.
As a born flyer, Veritas had no experience falling from any height, so it hit the ground hard, without a shred of technique to soften the landing. Fortunately, it was a Great Dragon. Its tough hide and scales absorbed the impact without a scratch.
Han Wuâs locust army, by contrast, was well-practiced. The moment they started to fall, they shifted into Small Locust Blades. The blades couldnât fly, but they could rely on Telekinesis to pierce down at the enemies below.
Any units without strong defenses were cut down with ease. Only those with thick hides and tough builds managed to hold out a little longer.
When Veritas saw the locusts massacring the enemy units, it immediately let out a furious roar. âStop killing them! These enemies are mine. I need to kill them to earn my freedom!â
The locust army, however, answered to no one but Han Wu and kept cutting through the units in waves. Many enemy units fell to the Small Locust Blades.
Veritas could not bear to watch. It forced itself to move for the sake of gaining its freedom. Even grounded by the Anti-Flight Domain, a Great Dragon's fighting talent covered far more than aerial combat. It unleashed a powerful roar, and sound waves laced with Wicked Energy tore through the weakest points in the enemy ranks, causing huge droves of enemy units to collapse.
Before long, Veritasâs rampage caught Wei Enâs eye. The sight of the commanding Great Dragon reminded her of Han Wuâs Great Dragon army, and she couldnât help but fantasize over having one of her own. Facing Han Wu with a Great Dragon at her side would certainly make her look less outmatched.
Nevertheless, Wei En knew she couldnât tame Veritas alone. She needed the help of her many admirers. So, she deployed her signature skill once more, and with just a few words, her admirers arrived at the same conclusion on their own. It wasnât that Wei En wanted the dragon, but they wanted to give it to her as an expression of their love.
âCharge! Take that wild dragon down!â
âThank the heavens for this gift. Letâs capture it for the goddess Wei En to use as her mount!â
âDragon, surrender now, or youâll regret it!â
The Warfare College students turned their sights on Veritas and unleashed their power. Unfortunately for them, they had badly misjudged it.
Veritas radiated a presence similar to Jia Guiâs, but the two were nothing alike. Jia Gui was about as effective as wet cardboard. Even on a good day, he could at most squeeze out ten percent of his potential. Veritas, on the other hand, could easily push out two hundred percent of its potential, and that was on top of having a Great Dragon's physique.
The Warfare College students were unaware of this. In fact, after beating Jia Gui, they had convinced themselves that World life forms werenât that impressive after all. They were quickly humbled.
Veritas fought like nothing theyâd faced before, and casualties soon appeared.
While Veritas proved to be no easy target, its powerful savagery only made Wei En want it more. Taming it would do a great deal for her ambitions. Just as Wei En prepared to draw on one of the treasures the Butcher had given her, Han Wu appeared.
âLong time no see, Senior Wei En,â he said casually.
Wei Enâs breathing sped up. Cold sweat ran down her spine.
âOh? Youâre not taking off your clothes today?â Han Wu mocked. âI thought you wanted to discuss life with me.â
Purple markings surfaced on Wei Enâs face from the surge of emotion, but Han Wu remained unfazed.
âI heard you've been going around telling people the Wisdom Faction is full of thieves and whores,â Han Wu continued without missing a beat. âSo tell me, Senior, when you were part of the Wisdom Faction, which one were you?â
With a flash, Han Wu suddenly appeared directly in front of her. Wei En tried to back away, but he grabbed her hand.
âDon't stay silent, Senior. You wanted to seal me, didn't you? Hereâs your chance. Go ahead and try,â he said, twisting her arm into an angle the body was never meant to turn.
Despite the pain, Wei En refused to make a sound, convinced that screaming would only make her look weak.
âNot bad, youâre tough.â Han Wu reached for her other arm. âLetâs see if you can remain this quiet when every bone in your body is broken.â
Wei En tried to resist but couldnât break his hold. Though they were both Major Gods, in terms of actual power, she was nowhere near Han Wuâs level.
âAre you even a man if youâre picking on a woman?!â Wei En spat through the pain, indignation in her voice as if taking the moral high ground.
âWhether Iâm a man isnât something you need to worry about, Senior.â Han Wu reached into his coat and produced a recording device, which he held up in front of her. âSenior Wei En, if youâd rather not have your naked body printed and distributed to every corner of Imperial College, I suggest you look into this and clear up every rumor youâve spread about the Wisdom Faction.â
âDream on. Iâll never do what you say.â
âHave it your way. Your body will become an unforgettable memory for all the juniors.â Han Wu moved to strip her.
Wei En had never suffered humiliation like this before. Enduring the pain, she reached for one of the treasures the Butcher had given her. It was a Teleport Jade Talisman. Once shattered, it would instantly transport the holder back to the talisman set location. A blink later, she was gone.
Even Han Wu had not anticipated that she would have such an item. It completely threw off his plan.
At that moment, Veritas finished its rampage. It had cut down a massive number of units and was buzzing with excitement. Its freedom was within reach! After sweeping the area clean of enemy units, Veritas flew back to Han Wuâs side.
It blinked expectantly at him, clearly trying to nudge Han Wu into keeping his word. âNoble Defier, Iâve done as you asked and killed over eighty percent of the units in this area. Will you release me now?â
âOf course.â Han Wu smiled. âJust give me two minutes. I need to call someone over first.â
Veritas didnât quite follow. Why couldnât Han Wu just release it before calling that person over?
Shortly after, the person Han Wu had called arrived. Alpheus, the Black Dragon King, descended, gazing at Veritas with an air of superiority. Veritas had no idea why another Great Dragon had been summoned, but it soon found out.
