The Sealed Dragon

Chapter 11 · 3,438 words

The peaks of the Frostspire Mountains pierced the clouds, their jagged ice cliffs shimmering under a pale, ghostly sun. Legends told of a dragon sealed within a tomb of enchanted frost and obsidian, its roar capable of flattening kingdoms. None had dared awaken him… until Sonar Von Draconia arrived.

[Potential Executioner Detected: Morgrath the Silent – Title: “The Frost Wyrm.”]

[Evaluation: Loyalty Achieved Through Dominance and Vision.]

Veyra, Korrak, Seraphis, Nyssara, Draven, Kaelen, Xyrris, Selene, and Thalrik followed Sonar in silence, knowing that this final trial would test them all.

“Even gods fear this one,” Veyra murmured, eyes narrowing. “A dragon older than kingdoms… frozen, but not dead.”

Sonar’s black eyes glimmered. “Then it is time for the final piece. Only with him will the Draconia Empire rise unchallenged.”

They entered the ice tomb, a cathedral of frost and shadow. At its center, encased in ice so thick it seemed eternal, lay Morgrath. His scales shimmered silver and midnight blue, wings folded, eyes closed. Even in slumber, power radiated from him — ancient, cold, unstoppable.

Sonar stepped forward. “Awaken, Morgrath. I am Sonar Von Draconia. You will follow me, or the world will burn without mercy. There is no choice beyond my command.”

The dragon’s eyes opened slowly, glowing like frozen stars. A low, rumbling growl shook the tomb. “Who disturbs me?”

“I am inevitability,” Sonar said. “I am Sonar Von Draconia. I forge empires. I conquer gods and kingdoms alike. And I offer you a purpose beyond ice and death — to rise as my final Executioner, to bring the world to heel under Draconia.”

Morgrath’s laughter was deep, chilling, and terrifying. “A mortal dares awaken me… and speak of purpose? I have lived longer than your kingdoms, and I have seen them crumble into dust.”

“Then see them crumble again,” Sonar replied, his black fire swirling around him like a storm. “This time… under your wings. Join me, or I will shatter your tomb and leave nothing of you but frost and ruin.”

For hours, they battled without touching — black fire against ice, shadow against scale, magic against instinct. Sonar anticipated every strike, moved with precision, and whispered commands only the dragon could feel. The other Executioners watched, ready to intervene, yet powerless to stop the duel of wills.

Finally, Morgrath’s massive head lowered, his icy breath fogging the chamber. “You… are unlike any mortal I have met,” he said slowly. “Your vision… your power… your ruthlessness. Perhaps… I can serve this purpose. But know this, Sonar Von Draconia: I do not bow. I rise with you, not beneath you.”

Sonar’s smile was merciless. “Then rise, Morgrath. And together, we will carve an empire that no force can challenge.”

Morgrath’s wings unfurled, ice cracking and melting as he towered over the Executioners. He stepped forward, clawed talons sinking into the stone. The Guide System confirmed:

[Recruitment Complete: Morgrath the Silent – The Frost Wyrm.]

[Tenth Executioner Acquired.]

[The Draconic Executioners are complete.]

Nine shadows and one dragon now followed Sonar.

The Draconic Executioners, the ultimate force of death, fire, magic, and shadow, were fully assembled.

And Sonar Von Draconia finally stood ready to found his empire.

[Empire Founded: Draconia Empire – Status: Operational.]

The world would learn fear.

And mercy… was dead.
