Chapter 434 The Attack (1)
âAlright!â Ye Lang gave the seller one gold coin and left.
â?? Master, what are you doing?â Tigress realised Ye Lang wasnât holding the fur coat, heâd tossed the coat aside.
âHey, hey, sir! What do you mean by this?â The seller was weirded out too.
âIâm taking my stuff! Or did you change your mind? Youâre not selling this anymore?â Ye Lang stopped to ask.
âNot at all! Weâre the tribesmen of the tiger tribe, we take our words very seriously. Miss Tai Ya here can confirm!â The seller was of the tiger tribe and also knew Tigress, though he wasnât familiar with Ye Lang.
âYeah, Master, the people of our tribe would never break their promises!â Tigress nodded with certainty.
âIf that is the case, give it to me then!â said Ye Lang.
âThis is for you!â The seller immediately handed Ye Lang the coat he previously pointed at.
ââŠâ Ye Lang held the coat for a moment, then tossed it back. âIs this a joke? This isnât what I want!â
âBut you were pointing at this!â The seller was confused so he brought over all the coats that were hung near this coat. Perhaps Ye Lang had pointed to the wrong one.
âWhat? Not this!â Ye Lang merely said no as the seller brought him more coats.
âWhat the hell do you want now? Just take it!â The seller was getting impatient now, he thought Ye Lang might be wasting his time for fun. If it wasnât for Miss Tai Ya, he wouldâve beaten Ye Lang up.
âI wanted to take it myself but you were in the way⊠Excuse meâŠâ Ye Lang ignored them all to take what he wanted.
âAhâŠâ Everyone was stunned because Ye Lang had taken the stone slab underneath the coats.
âMaster, what are you doing? What is this for?â asked Athena, stunned. She couldnât imagine what it would be for.
âSir, you wanted to buy this?â asked the seller in surprise.
âYep, exactly! I donât have any use for the fur coats but if youâre struggling to sell them I can buy them all. Itâs not a big deal,â said Ye Lang as he kept the stone slab in his space ring.
âItâs alright. You donât have to buy these coats if you have no use for them.â The seller shook his head. This clearly showed how different beastmen were from humans. A human seller couldnât have cared less if Ye Lang needed his products as long as he could sell all his goods!
âOh, carry on then. Iâll be looking at the other stalls!â Ye Lang didnât mind, leaving in search of other treasures.
âDonât you think itâs odd he bought a slab of stone?â Athena was about to ask Ye Lang but noticed Tigress wasnât speaking, which was odd too.
âMaster naturally has his own reasons. Iâm sure that isnât a regular slab of stone based on how he reacted! Also, even if itâs just a regular slab, he can buy it if he wants. Heâs always been a prodigal son anyway, he doesnât need a reason to spend his money!â Tigress said calmly. She was very, very calm about this entire ordeal.
His prodigal habits stemmed from the time before he met Tigress. These tendencies were also the reason why he bought her at the auction!
Taking a different perspective, if Ye Lang hadnât been a prodigal son, she wouldnât have been by his side. Perhaps she wouldâve been someone elseâs slave and meet a fate like the cat girl Taeyaâs- or worse.
That was perhaps why Tigress was never repulsed by his spending habits, sometimes even silently supporting him.
ââŠâ Athena was silent for a long time upon hearing Tigressâ words. She was mulling over what Tigress meant.
âMaster, what is this for?â Athena was still curious, she had to know why he was so interested in this flat piece of stone.
âItâs a secret. I usually wouldnât tell anyone this but this piece of stone is actuallyâŠâ Ye Lang whispered mysteriously.
Athenaâs ears perked upâ uh, well, her ears were already standingâ basically, she was listening hard to what Ye Lang was about to say.
At the same time, Tigress chuckled when she saw Ye Langâs expression because she knew what would happen next.
âA secret!â
â?! What?!â Athena didnât realise for a moment.
âA secret! I said itâs a secret! Youâre so stupid!â Ye Lang laughed and sprinted away.
Athena stood in shock then finally stomped her foot. âHmmph! Tell me! What IS that?!â
âNo! I told you, I donât usually tell anyone!â said Ye Lang after she caught up. Athena didnât know to laugh or cry when she saw his look of defiance.
âIâm not JUST anyone! Weâre pretty close! Master, tell me!â she smirked.
âNo! Auntie, I want this!â Ye Lang continued his shopping spree as he spoke.
âMaster, my dear Ye LangâŠâ Athena started using her âfoxy tacticsâ, whining and purring demurely. Thank goodness she was a lot smaller than him so she looked more like a little sister begging her older brother for a toy.
âAlright, alright! I get chills when you do that! Youâre such a fox! Iâll talk! To be honestâŠâ Ye Lang finally relented. Unfortunately, his answer wasâŠ
âI donât know what it is either!â This was part of the truth. Ye Lang had a feeling this slab of stone wasnât any regular object, that there was something peculiar inside. However, he needed time to figure out the specifics.
ââŠâ
I sacrificed my image for this answer?! Athena was going mad.
âLittle fox, youâve got a lot to learn! Donât ask him questions like that in the future, he doesnât know the answers half the time.â Tigress walked over to give her a pat on the shoulder, grinning.
Yep, I am laughing at you! Did you really think you could take advantage of him like this? Donât you think Iâve forgotten what you did just because we spent a few days together!
It would take a lot more than this for me to forgive you!
