Chapter 185: Lawless

Tang Dahai yelled at his old companions, this startled them. Someone asked, “Old Tang, what do you mean?”

Tang Dahai looked serious and said “Little Zheng is a student. He is going to college soon. How can we trouble him to be a part of this?”

The rest didn’t understand, “Old Tang, you have raised him for so many years. What’s wrong with asking him for help? I think that he wouldn’t mind.”

Tang Dahai still shook his head, “No, I won’t.”

“Old Tang why are you so stubborn, then what do you think we should do?”

Tang Dahai hesitated for a long time and said, “I will go look for Wang Huzi. I don’t believe that he can be so unreasonable.”

Others shook their heads and sighed listlessly as they watch their effort go down the drain due to Wang Huzi.

Tang Zheng heard everything clearly from outside the courtyard. Of course, he understood his grandfather’s pains. His grandfather didn’t want him to be a part of this to protect him. This was his attitude, as he would always face the danger himself. He let Tang Zheng live under his shelter. Even though he knew that Tang Zheng was not the same as before. He subconsciously was unwilling to let Tang Zheng take a risk.

Tang Zheng’s heart was moved and felt guilty. He walked into the yard and shouted, “Grandpa!”

Immediately, everyone turned around and looked different. A little panic flashed across Tang Dahai’s face and said, “Little Zheng, why are you here?”

“Grandpa, I’m sorry. I didn’t even know that you met some trouble. I did not take care of you well enough.” Tang Zheng said in guilt.

Tang Dahai waved his hand and said, “Silly child, don’t worry about this small matter. Weren’t you busy with the college entrance exams a while ago. I will solve it soon. Right, everyone?”

As he spoke, he quickly winked at the rest of them. Although, they wanted Tang Zheng to help them, they saw the look Tang Dahai gave them and embarrassingly said, “Yes, Little Zheng, we can solve the problem on our own. You can head back first.”

Obviously, everyone gave Tang Dahai some face.

Tang Zheng took a deep breath as he suppressed his anger. He said, “Grandpa, take me to Wang Huzi, he dared to destroy your junk shop. I won’t let him live in Chang Heng any longer.”

Tang Zheng rarely got angry but once his family was involved, his anger would rise exponentially.

Others saw Tang Zheng swearing out such grandiose words. Although they felt it a bit exaggerated, they felt relieved but still advised, “Little Zheng, Wang Hu is not so simple, he has a backing behind him. If you provoke him, we won’t be able to eat here or even live in Chang Heng anymore.”

“Yes, Little Zheng, let’s be calm. Worse comes to worst, we will not open the junk shop.” Some people chose to compromise.

Tang Zheng, however, didn’t seem to have heard it, “Grandpa, please lead the way. I will solve this issue with Wang Huzi today and no one will ever try to bully you again.”

Everyone stopped talking and looked at Tang Dahai, waiting for his decision.

Tang Dahai was uncertain, although he knew that Tang Zheng practised martial arts. Wang Huzi in his impression wasn’t a good match against his grandson’s generation. He was afraid that he would get him into trouble.

Of course, Tang Zheng knew what his grandfather was worried about. So he looked into his eyes and said seriously, “Grandpa, do you believe me?”

“Of course, I believe you.” Tang Dahai said without hesitation.

“Then believe in me and take me to Wang Huzi. I can really solve this issue and I won’t get into trouble.” Tang Zheng said confidently.

Tang Dahai looked at the old men’s eyes, a little heart-stirring. If the junk shop was gone, they would find it hard to survive. He had Tang Zheng filial piety while other don’t have a much better fortune.

Finally, Tang Dahai gritted his teeth and asked, “Little Zheng, do you really have a solution and won’t get yourself in trouble?”

Tang Zheng nodded, he too was part of the underworld. But his grandfather and his neighbours had suffered from the bullying by the same group of people which he was a part of. This world was really unfair.

“Then let’s go together, but we must be careful. It’s good to have more people.” Tang Dahai made up his mind.

The crowd got delighted and shouted one after another, “Yes! Let’s go look for Wang Huzi. But, Little Zheng, you can’t go alone? Wang Huzi is really powerful and he is huge. Why don’t you call a few more friends to fight?” The crowd looked pale.

Tang Dahai’s face sank, “We are going out to reason with him, not fighting. What do you people want to do?”

Tang Zheng said, “Rest assured, we are more than enough. We don’t need other people.”

Tang Dahai was assured as he watched Tang Zheng. Others were doubtful but no one disagreed. Sixty-seven people walked towards Wang Huzi’s junk shop.

Except for a young man, everyone else were aged between 60 to 70. They had no fighting power at all.

The people in the vicinity were looking at this strange team.

“Isn’t that Old Tang? They must be looking for Wang Huzi. I heard he destroyed their junk shop last night.”

“Why are they going for Wang Huzi. Isn’t that asking for trouble?”

“Who said so? Old Tang opened his junk shop to provide food for everyone to eat. I didn’t expect Wang Huzi’s heart be so black, destroying our way of life.”

“Let’s go and see. Let’s hope they can persuade him. Otherwise Old Tang will suffer a big loss and it’s possible that some may lose their lives.”

Immediately, many people followed them towards Wang Huzi’s junk shop. The junk shop had been in operation for many years and the scale was much larger. There was also a big wolfhound at the entrance. This was to prevent anyone from stealing things and also act as a warning to others.

Tang Dahai and the rest looked at the big wolfhound fearfully. The big wolf dog jumped on them and barked wildly.

Woof Woof Woof!

An old man was terrified and almost fell to the ground.

“Don’t be afraid. It is chained to the wall. It can’t come.” Someone said.

A few of them were not relieved and their mood even worsened. This evil hound, like its owner, was frightening.

“Who is it that made my wolf boy unhappy?” There was a loud roar in the yard, and everyone recognized this voice, it was Wang Huzi.

Some people who were fearless a moment ago was immediately frightened as the saw the big wolfhound and hear Wang Huzi’s voice. Their heart started beating rapidly as their face turned pale.

Tang Zheng strode into the courtyard with his grandfather. At a glance, he saw Wang Huzi sitting under a shade with a golden knife and a toothpick in his mouth. Wang Huzi coldly stared at them.

Wang Huzi sneered, “Oh, I was thinking who it was? It turns out that it was just a few old people. Why, what are you doing here early in the morning? Hei hei, I heard that your junk shop was destroyed last night. Congratulations!”

He was extremely arrogant as he didn’t place them in his eyes.

Tang Dahai stared at him and angrily said, “Wang Huzi, a wise man doesn’t do dreadful things. Everyone knows who did it last night.”

Wang Huzi stared at Tang Dahai in disdain and said, “Why, do you suspect that I did it?”

“It was definitely you and you dare to deny it!” Others shouted.

Wang Huzi grinned and yelled, “Indeed it was I, your father. What can you do about it?”

“You… can’t be so lawless.”

“Haha, lawless, I like this word. From now on, this whole area is my territory. Wang Huzi is the law. You must follow this Father’s words in case you want to live here, or go to hell. I’d like to see what you can do without this line of work.”

Most of these old people were childless and had no women. If they did not do this, there was no other way for them to survive. Wang Huzi obviously knew this therefore he had no worries as this territory was his.

Few of them trembled with anger and shouted, “Wang Huzi, you should die a dog’s death!”

“Ha ha, I’m not going to die. This Father will see that you old men don’t die peacefully. You dared to come to my site, I think you really have lived enough.”

They looked at Tang Dahai in panic and terror, and saw that he was really angered. He took a deep breath and said, “Wang Huzi, everyone in this place rely on you, do you really need to do this? Moreover, you can’t earn money alone. Can’t you give these old men some food to eat?”

“If this Father provides you food, who will feed me? Beside, this Father has a big appetite. If you eat what I have, what will I eat? I will be hungry and I don’t want to have an empty stomach.” Wang Huzi stood up in anger.

Tang Zheng never moved nor spoke. Since his grandfather wanted to reason with Wang Huzi, he would let him realize that he can’t reason with such people.

Sure enough, Tang Dahai saw Wang Huzi being so unreasonable. He came to negotiate but the other side did not give him the opportunity. It was clear that he was bullying.

Wang Huzi walked up in front of them and looked down at the old group of people in high spirits. He spat out his toothpick and revealed his waxy yellow teeth.

“Wang Huzi, are you really going to be so unreasonable?” Tang Dahai was unwilling to give up and asked.

Wang Huzi scornfully shouted, “Get lost, or else this Father will let the dogs kill you.”

Tang Dahai did not speak anymore, he faced towards Tang Zheng. The latter understood, he took a step forward in front of several old people as he stared at Wang Huzi eagerly.

Wang Huzi was a meter and eighty-five cm tall while Tang Zheng was a meter and seventy-eight cm tall. Yet, he was still shorter than Wang Huzi by half a head.

Wang Huzi did not take him seriously at all but was rather interested and jokingly said, “Hey, you also brought a helper and a few old people. Very bad, did you bring this kid to die? Let this Father open your eyes.”

Tang Zheng didn’t say a word as he wasn’t interested in interacting with such people. And the anger in his heart was on the verge of breaking out.

Seeing that Tang Zheng did not say a word, Wang Huzi thought he was afraid. He scorned and sent a punch towards Tang Zheng’s stomach.
