Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Confrontation

The remaining security guards flashed hesitation across their faces; they had no idea the robbers were armed!

"Get the fuck down!" Another robber, taller and bigger, charged forward, knocking the remaining security guards down with a few punches and kicks!

Ling Feng covered Liu Tingyu’s mouth and hid behind a pillar. "Shh, don’t make a sound."

"Anyone talks, I’ll kill ’em!" the lead robber said indifferently, "Second Brother, Third Brother, you two go load up the money. Lao Si, you watch the door and let us know when the cops arrive!"

Bank robberies, seen as a high-profile occupation except in films and TV shows, were virtually unseen by ordinary people!

Under the threat of several guns, all the customers lay on the ground obediently, wishing they could disappear into the cracks in the floor!

"Quick, fill up this bag for me!" Third Brother tossed a woven sack to a female staffer and said menacingly, "Hurry up, or watch out for my gun!"

"Okay! Okay!" the staffer’s body trembled, barely able to hold the bag.

"How could someone of your quality work at a bank?" the leader approached the counter, patting the staffer’s cheek, "What a face of terror. Do you think we brothers are really that scary?"

"I... I..." the girl was nearly breaking down, tears streaming down her face.

The leader of the robbers sighed, "Quality, you people nowadays really have poor mental fortitude! Right, have you called the cops yet?"

"No!" the girl stammered.

The robber leader slammed the counter hard. "Then what are you waiting for? Call the police now!"

"I..." The girl was going insane, wondering if these robbers were out of their minds.

"Alright, I won’t bully you anymore!" The robber leader stretched out his hand. "Give me the phone!"

Once handed the phone, the robber leader dialed 110. "Hello, is this the police station? I’d like to report a robbery at Huaxia Bank in XC District. There are four robbers here, with guns, absolutely vicious... Who am I? Nonsense, I’m a robber! Want to hear some gunfire?"

Saying this, the robber fired another shot, sending shivers down everyone present, their heads bowing even lower.

"The police nowadays are really slow!" the robber leader grumbled, then turned to the customers, "You see, I’m a peaceful person, I don’t like killing! But I do hope everyone cooperates well. If you cooperate, naturally, I won’t harm you. But if you don’t, I may have to make an example out of someone, understand?"

Ling Feng furrowed his brow slightly. These four robbers were skilled; how had they ended up robbing a bank? Also, based on the leader’s actions, it seemed their goal wasn’t really to rob the bank but something else! Otherwise, why would he have called the police himself?

Five minutes later, sirens blared outside the bank, followed by a loud voice, "Attention inside, robbers, you’re surrounded. Lay down your weapons and surrender peacefully for leniency. Otherwise..."

Bang! A gunshot rang out, and Lao Si shattered the glass of a police car in front, setting off its alarm and interrupting the loud voice.

"Damn it, after all these years, the police’s rhetoric hasn’t improved at all!" Lao Si said disdainfully, "Do they really take us for fools?"

"Lao Si, how many police officers have arrived outside?" the gang leader asked indifferently, his face showing no sign of panic.

"Four police cars, thirteen officers, and we can’t rule out the presence of snipers. But for now, it’s just ordinary cops. I guess the Criminal Police Team will be back soon!"

The leader’s lips curled into a sinister smile, "That’s good. I heard there’s someone from the Criminal Police Team named Bai Feifei. I’d like to have a real showdown with her soon!"

Outside the bank, the plump police officer who had just shouted looked pale. Lao Si’s recent shot had grazed past his hair, barely missing his own death.

"Director Pang, what should we do now? There are no fewer than thirty hostages inside!" another police officer said anxiously, "These robbers are really rampant! It’s infuriating!"

Director Pang wiped the sweat from his face, "They are extremely vicious and not something we can handle alone. I’ve already sought help from the Criminal Police Team; they should be here by now!"

As they spoke, Bai Feifei arrived with a large group of criminal police officers.

"Director Pang, what’s the situation now?" Bai Feifei asked, her face showing a trace of seriousness.

A bank robbery in Yanjing Capital was already considered a very serious and grave incident. If handled improperly and resulting in casualties, it would be a major blow to Huaxia’s international image.

So, under any circumstance, they had to catch the robbers and safeguard the hostages!

Director Pang briefly explained the situation inside, causing Bai Feifei’s frown to deepen!

It seemed that the robbers inside were a group of resolute desperadoes. Ordinary psychological tricks and intimidation were utterly useless against them!

"Hey, listen up, you cops outside!" the robbers’ voice then came through the bank’s loudspeaker, "In ten minutes, prepare a car for us and pull all the police back. We have thirty-seven hostages, and if you’re a minute late, I’ll kill one hostage. So think it over well! By the way, has Captain Bai Feifei of the Criminal Police Team arrived? If she’s not here in five minutes, I’ll kill a hostage..."

Bai Feifei snatched the loudspeaker from Director Pang’s hands and said sternly, "I am Bai Feifei. We will try to meet your demands, but we have one condition: do not harm the hostages! Otherwise, I, Bai Feifei, will not let you get away with it!"

"It’s no use!" Bai Feifei exclaimed after taking a deep breath. "These robbers are definitely professionally trained. They won’t be persuaded by a negotiation expert!"

Taking another deep breath, Bai Feifei commanded, "Notify the sniper to be ready at any moment and evacuate the crowd to avoid accidental injuries. I think the robbers will soon state their demands!"

Sure enough, just after Bai Feifei finished speaking, the robber’s arrogant voice was heard again, "Captain Bai, we have a bit of time now. How about we play a game? The rules are simple. I say something, you repeat what I say! If you can’t keep up, I’ll chop off a hostage’s finger. What do you say?"
