Chapter 866: Chapter 866 Caesar Nilas
"My dear brother, if I were to spread this news, do you think the Divine Gate would still have a place for you?" The blond man sneered and said, "Donât underestimate the power of the Nilas Family. As the Young Clan Leader, I can certainly make this happen!"
"Youâre courting death!" Aiven lunged at the blond man like a frenzied leopard.
With a loud boom, an old man beside the blond man stepped forward, blocking Aivenâs path and exchanging a move with him.
Aiven staggered back several steps, whereas the old man remained unmoved. In this clash, the old man had the upper hand, clearly possessing deeper reserves of strength than Aiven!
"Whatâs the matter? Are you enraged out of humiliation now?" The blond man said with disdain, "As a man, if you like a woman, you should stop at nothing to claim her. But you, such a coward, only dare to watch from afar, trembling and hesitant to even take a step closer. Truly, youâve brought shame to the Nilas Family!"
As the blond man spoke, he licked his lips. "Heh heh, but I must say, brother, your taste is impeccable. Catherine truly is an unrivaled beauty. Since you donât dare to make a move, as your elder brother, Iâll help you seek vengeance. Mark my words, someday Iâll have Catherine in my bed!"
"You bastard, Caesar Nilas!" Aiven roared. "If you dare lay a finger on her, I swear Iâll kill you!"
Hearing those words, Ling Feng felt an indescribable emotion surge in his heart. Aiven likes Catherine? Why had he never noticed before?
Of course, Ling Feng couldnât have known. It was only after Ling Feng returned to Huaxia and Catherine took charge of the Divine Gateâs affairs that Aiven realized his feelings for her!
However, Aiven was also very aware that Catherineâs heart had always and only belonged to Ling Feng. Though he liked Catherine, he buried those feelings deep within himself, never daring to show a hint of them or act impulsively!
What Aiven never anticipated, though, was that two months ago, this man named Caesar Nilas would appear before him and reveal that Aiven was, shockingly, a direct descendant of the ancient European Nilas Family!
At the time, Aiven had felt a fleeting moment of excitement. He had once searched in vain for any trace of his parents, and now, a blood relative stood before him. Even with the extraordinary resilience Aiven had cultivated over the years, he couldnât help but feel a surge of emotion.
But that initial excitement was soon replaced by a burning fury because Caesar demanded that Aiven work with him to bring down the Divine Gate.
The Nilas Family, whose primary focus was on biotechnology research, had long coveted the breakthroughs made by the Mad Doctor. Once they confirmed that Ling Feng was no longer part of the Divine Gate, they began to turn the screws on the organization.
Aiven, of course, rejected Caesarâs demand outright. How could he possibly betray the Divine Gate for a "stranger"? After all, the Divine Gate was now home to his brothers who had shared life-and-death struggles with him!
When Aiven refused, Caesar sneered and unveiled Aivenâs deepest secret. Though Aiven had no idea how Caesar had uncovered it, he knew that if the secret got out, he would no longer be able to stay in the Divine Gate!
Even if Big Brother Ling Feng and Catherine didnât hold it against him, Aiven himself couldnât bear the thought of remaining!
"Iâll give you one month to decide. Iâll return for your answer in a month." Caesarâs devilish words from a month ago still echoed hauntingly in Aivenâs ears.
Taking a deep breath, Aiven had since launched a private investigation. Caesar Nilas was indeed the Young Clan Leader of the Nilas Family. Ruthless and cruel by nature, he always wore a deceptive smile that masked his sinister intentâa true smiling tiger.
Since Caesar had gone to such lengths to find him, Aiven was certain it wasnât simply a matter of reconnecting with family. Caesar Nilas wasnât the kind of man who acted out of kindness!
"Speak your terms!" Aiven said coldly. "After all this effort, what exactly is it that you want from me?"
Caesar Nilas chuckled. "Oh, my dear brother, you wound me with such words. For so many years, I dreamed of seeing you again, just to ensure you were living well. Now, seeing you all grown up, you cannot imagine how happy I am!"
"If I hadnât seen you, Iâd be even happier!" Aiven retorted icily. "I donât have the time or patience to waste words with youâspeak plainly or stop wasting my breath!"
Caesar Nilas wasnât offended by Aivenâs bluntness. He simply smiled faintly and said, "Since youâve put it that way, I wonât beat around the bush. I have a few questions for you!"
"First, is your boss, the Blood-Handed Asura, at the Divine Gateâs base? Where is he now?" Caesar stared intently into Aivenâs eyes as he asked.
Aiven froze for a moment, then smirked disdainfully. "Whatâs the matter? Planning to target the Divine Gate, but afraid of our leaderâs reputation? Your cautious dithering makes you look just like a clown!"
Hardly had Aiven finished speaking when the old man beside Caesar suddenly appeared in front of him, swinging a hand toward Aivenâs face.
Aiven reacted swiftly, blocking the old manâs attack and retreating to the corner of the room. "Whatâs wrong? Did I hit a nerve? Are you so angry youâve lost your composure?"
Caesar Nilasâ expression darkened. Gone was his false smile, replaced by a cold glare as he said, "Aiven, if you want to keep your secret safe, youâd better answer my questions honestly. Words are the weapon of the weak; if you were strong enough, youâd storm the Nilas Familyâs gates to demand justice for yourself. But as it stands, you have no chance of shaking the Nilas Familyâs foundations!"
"Now, tell meâare the Blood-Handed Asura and the Divine Gate still intertwined?" Caesar Nilas pressed on.
Aiven gritted his teeth, adamant not to divulge anything about the Divine Gate. He had an ominous feeling that Caesar Nilas was plotting something against the organization!
"Heh, let me answer that question for you." At that moment, a cold voice echoed throughout the room, reaching every corner with chilling clarity.
"Whoâs there? Who are you?" Caesar Nilas narrowed his eyes, his voice heavy with suspicion.
A flicker of joy crossed Aivenâs face, only to be replaced by a pale, stricken expression. If Big Brother was here, did that mean he had heard everything Aiven had said earlier?
A ripple seemed to appear in the air itself, and from it emerged a strikingly handsome man, his icy gaze fixed on Caesar Nilas and his entourage.
