Chapter 891: Chapter 891: Arrogant George
"This young man, are you a Fusang person or a Korean?" Fisherman asked after scrutinizing him up and down.
Ling Feng couldnât help but furrow his brows. "Why would you ask that? Could it be that Mr. Fishermanâs perspective is so narrow that all you know are the tiny places like Fusang and South Korea?"
A trace of surprise flickered in Fishermanâs eyes, and he chuckled warmly. "So, this means youâre a Huaxia person, then? Truly, heroes emerge at a young age!"
Ling Feng smiled faintly and merely nodded.
In truth, Fisherman had already deduced that Ling Feng was a Huaxia person. He had intentionally posed the question about Fusang or South Korea to see how Ling Feng would react!
But he hadnât expected Ling Fengâs retort to be so swift and razor-sharp. Where did his confidence come from? Could it be Jenny standing by his side?
"Jenny is a true Pearl of the Johnson Family; countless suitors have failed to win her favor. If those suitors were to learn about this situation, I imagine this young man might face no shortage of trouble!" Fisherman said with a laugh.
Jenny shook her head. "My darling doesnât have the best temper, so I wouldnât want those people with no foresight cluttering around. Itâd be terribly inconvenient if they caused trouble for Uncle Fisherman!"
A glimmer of light flashed in Fishermanâs eyes. From the looks of it, between Jenny and this young fellow, itâs Jenny who seemed to be on the weaker side. Interestingâthis is getting quite intriguing!
"Uncle Fisherman, weâll head inside now! We wouldnât want to hold up anyone else here," Jenny said as she hooked her arm with Ling Fengâs and walked into the estate.
Once inside, Jenny leaned closer to Ling Fengâs ear and whispered softly, "This estate is Uncle Fishermanâs private property. Heâs a member of an old aristocratic family but left the family due to certain circumstances to claim this grand estate alone. Still, Uncle Fisherman has strong connections and influence within our circles, which is why this conference is being held here!"
Ling Feng said gruffly, "What use is telling me this? I wanted to ask *you* whatâs going on. What did you mean earlier? I only agreed to be your date, not to pretend to be your boyfriend!"
Jenny chuckled mischievously, "I never said you were my boyfriendâyouâre my date! Iâve got my eye on you. Is it so wrong for me to pursue you actively?"
"Youâre trying to get me killed!" Ling Feng rolled his eyes. "Forget itâif youâre not scared, then I donât mind either!"
While Jenny and Ling Feng whispered between themselves, a loud and arrogant voice rang out in the distance. "Well, wellâlook who it is! My brilliant cousin. Amazing! And today, youâre not here with your usual lady friend. Instead, youâve shown up with a man? Has your sexual orientation shifted or something?"
A young man with a cold, sinister expression walked over, scrutinizing Ling Feng from head to toe with a gaze filled with defiance and disdain. "Where did this little nobody come from? I donât care what tricks you used to enchant my cousin, but as of now, I want you to scram immediately, or Iâll make sure you regret it."
Ling Feng, with his distinctly oriental features and unfamiliar face, was clearly not someone from the same circle. The young man was convinced Ling Feng might be a pretty boy kept by Jenny, so he didnât mind publicly embarrassing her.
Ling Feng glanced at Jenny in surprise and asked, "Jenny, whoâs this self-important idiot?"
"Do you have a death wish?" The young manâs face darkened instantly upon hearing Ling Fengâs remark. "Cousin Jenny, arenât you going to properly discipline your boyfriend?"
The emphasis he placed on the word âboyfriendâ made his expression all the more sinister.
Jenny shrugged indifferently. "George Johnson, the one I mentioned before."
Ling Feng suddenly understood. "So itâs that incompetent troublemaker. I didnât expect your cousin to be so different from youâyouâre beauty and brains combined, while your cousin is ugliness and stupidity in equal measure. Truly, God is fair. He pairs ugly appearances with dim minds so they look more harmonious together!"
"Youâre asking for it!" George furiously raised his hand, ready to slap Ling Feng hard.
But before his hand could descend, Ling Feng moved lightning-fast and slapped George across the face first.
With a sharp "smack," George froze, stunned. His hand still hovered mid-air as he stared at Ling Feng in disbelief. "You... you actually dared to hit me?"
Ling Feng looked at George in puzzlement. "I called you an idiot, but you wonât admit it. Since you wanted to hit me, isnât it fair for me to fight back?"
Turning to Jenny, Ling Feng said, "Jenny, is this guy really your cousin?"
Jenny giggled. "As much as I hate to admit it, he is indeed my cousin. Donât go too hard on him though; after all, weâre family. Hit places where it doesnât show next time, alright?"
Listening to Jenny and Ling Fengâs banter, George was boiling with rage. "Jenny, do you even realize what youâre doing? Youâre allowing your pretty boy to lay a hand on me? Youâve brought disgrace to the Johnson Familyâs name!"
Jenny replied calmly, "As a man, getting slapped in the face and not fighting back, but instead whining like some weaklingâIâd say thatâs far more shameful! George, can you act a bit more like a man?"
Ling Feng nodded in agreement. "Exactly! Come on, be a manâletâs duel! You pick the terms; whatever you choose, I wonât back down."
George clenched his fists tightly. "Jenny, youâre really determined to protect this pretty boy, huh? Youâre willing to disregard the Johnson Familyâs honor for him, isnât that right? Fineâif thatâs how it is, donât blame me for not holding back!"
Ling Feng felt annoyed. This dumb punk kept talking about "pretty boy," as if he really was being kept by Jenny.
"First of all, let me correct you on one thing." Ling Feng slipped an arm around Jennyâs waist. Her body trembled slightly but didnât resist, and her face flushed faintly.
"While my face is fair, I am not a pretty boy! This is a matter of principle. If you keep calling me that, itâs an insult, and I wonât be happy about it!" Ling Feng said seriously.
"To hell with you!" George spat venomously. "A pretty boy should have the awareness of being one. Just because youâre keeping Jenny happy doesnât mean you can change the truth. Iâ"
Smack, smack! Ling Feng slapped George twice more, his tone dissatisfied. "I already said, insulting me makes me unhappy, and when Iâm unhappy, I tend to hit people!"
Georgeâs cheeks swelled red on both sides as he hissed through gritted teeth, "You... you dared to hit me again? Peter, kill him for me!"
The man who had been following George suddenly stepped forward and charged toward Ling Feng.
