Chapter 1760: Chapter 1758: Laws of Survival in the Ancient Ruins
Ling Feng was momentarily stunned. He had merely asked a casual question, but he didnât expect the manâs emotional fluctuation to be even greater than when he received a death threat earlier. This made Ling Feng very curious.
"Is that so?" The corner of Ling Fengâs mouth curled into a mocking smile. "I think your memory might be a bit poor. I mentioned, if you deceive me..."
The man quickly replied, "Youâre joking, sir. How could I possibly deceive you? Every word Iâve said is true!"
Ling Feng shook his head, then pointed a finger. A streak of blood light entered the manâs body. The man felt a chill, then sensed a drop of golden blood appear in his Dantian.
"This is..." The manâs eyes showed an expression of shock, then he said to Ling Feng with a wry grin, "Sir, what do you mean by this!"
Ling Feng replied coolly, "It doesnât mean anything, just to make you more honest."
"I havenât deceived you, sir!" As soon as the words left the manâs mouth, the drop of golden blood in his Dantian instantly turned into a blood arrow, directly stabbing into his Dantian.
"Ah!" The man screamed in pain. He felt a crack appear instantly in his normally calm Dantian, and the blood sword that stabbed into it showed no sign of leaving!
Ling Feng chuckled, "You see, if you continue to deceive me, I canât guarantee what the blood sword in your Dantian might do."
The man hesitated, his eyes showing a struggle. After a long time, he tentatively said, "Actually, what I said earlier is true..."
As soon as he spoke, the blood sword flew out of his Dantian and pierced it again. The manâs body trembled, his eyes wide with shock, because two cracks now appeared in his Dantian. If it shattered, his entire cultivation would be entirely ruined.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, whether or not you deceive me isnât based on what you sayâbut on whether you believe youâre deceiving me. The blood sword will take effect, and your Dantian should be able to withstand one more strike, so think carefully before you speak!"
As he spoke, Ling Feng flipped his hand, and a bottle of elixir appeared: "This is a Purple Cloud Pill. It will quickly heal your injuries. If you cooperate, it can completely cure your injuries from just now. Your choice!"
The manâs face showed a bitter smile: "Sir, it is what it is, I have nothing left to hide. The battle between us and the Sea Clan involves the struggle for the Star Core of Sky Blue Star!"
Ling Fengâs body trembled, his eyes brightened. He didnât expect to get news of the Star Core Power so quickly.
"Explain in detail!" Ling Feng demanded in a deep voice.
The man took a deep breath and said, "The Star Core Power of Sky Blue Star is very weak and is divided into two halves. One half is in my possession, the other in the hands of the King of the Sea Tribe!"
"Weâve been warring for many years actually for two reasons!" The man said solemnly, "Our Star Core Power canât bear the existence of too many of Sky Blue Starâs people, so we needed a suitable excuse to deal with the excess inhabitants!"
"The second reason is that both I and the King of the Sea Tribe want to gain the otherâs half of the Star Core Power, because only then could we truly become the masters of Sky Blue Star!" The man said, somewhat defeated.
Ling Feng asked, curiosity piqued, "What does the Star Core Power of Sky Blue Star look like? Show me."
The man gave a bitter smile, then turned his hand, revealing a blue hemispherical object. To Ling Fengâs surprise, this hemispherical object was pulsating like a heart, as if it were breathing.
Ling Feng unceremoniously took it from the manâs hand. The man showed a struggling expression, but he did not resist, as if resigning to his fate.
This was Ling Fengâs first time handling Star Core Power, and from this half of the Star Core, Ling Feng could feel a tremendous power emanating from it.
Ling Feng turned to the man, "This Star Core Power has tremendous strength. Do you have a way to harness it?"
The man shook his head and said, "Only the whole Star Core can unleash the greatest power. A half Star Core canât leverage its strength at all, and thatâs why I want to conquer the Sea Tribe!"
Ling Feng nodded, "Fine, I can help you achieve this wish. I will unite the two Star Cores into one!"
The man was stunned, not expecting Ling Feng to say that.
But Ling Feng immediately followed, "However, the Star Core Power is mine!"
The man was shocked, "Sir, absolutely not! The Star Core Power is the foundation of Sky Blue Star! Without it, our Sky Blue Star will gradually weaken..."
"Does that matter to me?" Ling Feng asked curiously, "Arenât all the planets in the Ancient Ruins abandoned? Your survival depends on fighting over Star Core Power. Is there anything wrong with me taking your Star Core Power?"
The manâs face displayed a look of despair. He gritted his teeth and suddenly lunged toward Ling Feng: "Give back our Star Core Power, Iâll kill you!"
But his body suddenly sagged, falling directly to the ground, convulsing. His face showed a look of agony: "Itâs all my fault, itâs all my fault. I shouldnât have revealed Sky Blue Starâs biggest secret for selfish reasons. Iâm a sinner of Sky Blue Star!"
Looking at the regretful and pained man, Ling Feng showed no compassion. When he entered the Ancient Battlefield, Ling Feng was told that the law of survival here was races constantly acquiring each otherâs Star Core Power, for only thus could they survive!
The so-called benevolence here is simply laughable; in racial wars, itâs kill or be killed!
Though Ling Feng felt some reluctance in his heart, he never thought of changing this law because he knew well that he was just a small, insignificant person, and just preserving Earth had exhausted all his efforts. He wasnât Buddha; he had no intention to save the world.
Sky Blue Starâs people were innocent, Ling Feng knew, but this was the survival law of the Ancient Ruins, like wolves eating sheep and sheep eating grass. There was no logic to it!
As the man in front of him gradually stopped convulsing and his Life Force dissipated, Ling Feng sighed softly, "Though you betrayed your planet, in the end... you died for it. If you want to hate, hate the fragility of your planet. This isnât your fault!"
