Chapter 135: Chapter 135: They Are Tight-Lipped
Faced with the accusations, Carson Larkin grew incredibly anxious, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
His shifty eyes darted between the three girls. He frowned and said, "Itâs not what you think. Thereâs been a misunderstanding."
"What misunderstanding?" Wendy Griffin stared at him, her tone icy. "Weâre getting married in two weeks, and now youâre suddenly some other girlâs boyfriend?"
"Wendy, Jenny and I actually broke up a long time ago," Carson Larkin explained. "Sheâs been harassing me. She wonât leave me alone."
Hearing this, Jenny exploded with rage. She slapped Carson Larkin hard across the face. "What kind of bullshit is that? Me, harassing you? Have you no shame?"
[Oh my god, how can he say something like that? Heâs so shameless!]
[How dare he try to drag Jennyâs name through the mud? Itâs making me so angry!]
"Iâve never seen such a shameless man!" Michelle Fuller rolled up her sleeves and slapped him across the face.
His cheeks stinging, Carson Larkin glared at Michelle Fuller. "Wait, and who are you?" he demanded.
Michelle Fuller laughed. "You donât deserve to know."
[So satisfying!!!]
"When have I ever harassed you?" Jenny demanded furiously. "You were the one who cheated on me, and you have the nerve to say Iâm the one harassing you?"
"Thatâs not true!" Carson Larkin retorted desperately, turning to Wendy Griffin. "Wendy, donât listen to her lies. Thereâs been nothing between us for a long time. Sheâs the one who keeps clinging to me, refusing to let go."
"Are you sure about that?" Wendy Griffin asked, her gaze cold.
Carson Larkin nodded hastily. "Yes! I would never lie to you!"
"Oh, so thatâs how it is," Wendy Griffin said with a small smile. "Come closer. I have something to tell you."
"Wendy, what is it you want to tell me?" Carson Larkin asked, leaning in close.
Wendy Griffin enunciated each word clearly into his ear: "The. Wedding. Is. Canceled."
He stared at her, his eyes wide with shock. "Wendy, youâve really got this all wrong..."
"Just shut up!" Wendy Griffinâs face twisted in disgust. "The moment you open your mouth, I feel sick!"
"He really is disgusting!" Jenny agreed wholeheartedly, kicking him. "Weâre over, you son of a bitch!"
Rice Cake spat on him. "Drop dead, you scumbag!"
With that, the girls surrounded Carson Larkin and let him have it.
The viewers in the livestream chat were roaring with approval.
[This is so satisfying to watch. Itâd be even better if I could land a punch myself!]
[This is so cathartic!!!]
Even Renee Jenningsâs hands were itching to join in. She took the phone hanging from her neck.
[Huh? Whyâd the screen go black?]
[Is it a bad connection?]
A moment later, a piercing scream cut through the air.
[Why does that scumbagâs scream sound so agonized?]
[Let me guess... Did our streamer go teach that scumbag a lesson?]
The feed returned to normal. Renee Jennings smiled brightly at the camera. "Sorry about that, just had to take care of a little something."
[I get it. We all get it.]
[We understand. The streamer just went to do a good deed.]
Renee Jennings read the comments, the smile in her bright, dark eyes deepening. "Thatâs right. Those who know, know."
She flipped the camera around, aiming it at Carson Larkin, who was lying on the ground and convulsing in pain.
The sight left the viewers feeling completely satisfied.
Renee Jennings waved. "Thatâs all for todayâs stream. See you all next time."
[Streamer, when is ânext timeâ?]
[Boohoo, that was so good! I wish we could get this kind of amazing drama every day~]
Renee Jennings replied with an amused chuckle, "Iâd rather hope everyoneâs lives are a little more peaceful than this."
She ended the stream and turned to Jenny and the other two. "Let me treat you all to a late-night snack."
Jenny quickly interjected, "No, no, no, I should be the one treating."
"I should be the one paying," Wendy Griffin said, her expression serious. "This helped me the most. If Jenny hadnât called in to Reneeâs stream today, I might have actually married that scumbag. Then it wouldnât have been as simple as canceling a weddingâit would have been a divorce."
"She has a point," Michelle Fuller said with a serious nod.
Jenny looked a little exasperated. "But it helped me a lot, too."
"Me too," Rice Cake said, raising her hand. "I almost fell for that scumbagâs advances!"
"Alright, everyone stop fighting over it. Iâll treat," Michelle Fuller declared with a wave of her hand. "Itâs a celebration for the three of you escaping a scumbag!"
"Let me get it today," Renee Jennings said calmly. "This was a huge help to me, too. I gained half a million followers today."
Michelle Fuller slung an arm around her shoulder, grinning. "Alright, then Renee can treat, and Iâll pay the bill!"
As they all argued about who would pay, they were surprised to find that Sylvia Brooks, who happened to be eating at the same restaurant, had already settled their bill.
Michelle Fuller was so vexed that she tossed and turned in bed, wondering how she could have been one step behind, allowing Sylvia Brooks to beat her to the punch.

ăThe next day.ă
Renee Jennings didnât plan on streaming, but she opened TikTok to check her private messages anyway.
She was waiting for a reply from "MilkTea30PercentSugar".
The message was still marked as unread.
Slightly disappointed, Renee Jennings closed the app.
She sat on the balcony, soaking up the sun and thinking about Bubblesâs owner, Lana.
The urgent ringing of her phone shattered her thoughts.
Renee Jennings got up, walked into the living room, and picked up her phone from the coffee table. The screen showed an incoming call from "Henry Stark."
She answered the call, a hint of nervousness in her voice. "Henry, what is it?"
A manâs low, gentle voice came through the line. "Renee, we caught the people who captured the white storks."
Reneeâs eyes lit up. "Thatâs fantastic news," she said, pleasantly surprised.
"And thereâs more good news," Henry said. "Theyâre connected to the people who took the baby macaque."
"Really?!" Reneeâs voice shot up. "Have you gotten anything out of them?"
Henry: "Not yet. Theyâre tight-lipped."
"I see..." Renee sounded crestfallen. "I wonder if Yumi is still alive."
Henry was silent for a few seconds. "Letâs hope she is."
After hanging up, Renee suddenly felt a surge of anxiety.
Unable to sit still at home, she grabbed her car keys and headed to the animal rescue to visit her friends.
Renee told Eggy and the others that she would be coming to get them soon.
The fur babies were ecstatic to hear the news. Their boring days were finally filled with something to look forward to.
Just as Renee was about to leave, a Ragdoll cat suddenly blocked her path.
Something fluffy had wrapped itself around her ankle.
Renee looked down to find it was a Ragdoll cat.
It was tilting its small head back, looking up at her with wide, hopeful eyes. "Youâre taking them with you. Can you take me, too?"
"You want to come with me?" Renee asked, bending down to scoop the little one into her arms. She smiled, ruffling the fur on its head.
"Yes," the Ragdoll cat nodded. "I helped out when Lilian was arrested, you know!"
Hearing the name Lilian, Renee blinked, a sudden realization dawning on her. "Youâre Lilianâs Ragdoll?"
"Yes." The Ragdoll nodded again. "When Lilian was arrested, I was left alone at home and went hungry for two days. I ran to someone elseâs house to find food, and after that, I was brought here."
"Oh, so thatâs what happened," Renee said with a smile. "Whatâs your name?"
The Ragdoll cat replied, "My name is Pudding."
