Chapter 393: Chapter 393: This Kid Wants to Battle a Tiger
Kaiser had agreed to go to the zoo, so Renee Jennings and Faye Wyatt were taking him there. It was also a chance for Renee to visit her animal friends.
The tiger brothers at Tiger Park were all excited to see her.
"Renee, youāre finally here!"
"I really missed you!"
"Renee, I love you, like a mouse loves rice..."
Hearing Carter sing, Renee burst out laughing. "Where did you learn that song?"
Carter said, "A tourist was singing it a while ago, so I learned it. Heh heh!"
Just then, Fero charged over from a distance. His massive body created a gust of wind, knocking Carter, who was in front of Renee, flying.
Carter let out a cry and started cursing, "Fero, you son of a...!"
Fero paid him no mind. He pounced in front of Renee and pleaded, "Renee, youāre just in time! Quick, help me checkādo I have a cavity?"
As he spoke, he opened his massive jaws, and the foul, stinking breath almost made Renee pass out.
She frowned, pinching her nose. "Do you have a toothache?"
"I donāt know if itās a toothache!" Fero said. "For the past few days, itās been uncomfortable whenever I eat meat. I canāt chew properly!"
"It could be a cavity, or it might be inflamed," Renee said, patting his big head reassuringly. "Donāt worry, just sit down. Iāll call Director Griffin and have him arrange for a vet to come check on you."
"Okay!" Fero lay down beside her like a well-behaved house cat.
Ten minutes later, Evan Griffin arrived at the entrance to Tiger Park with two veterinarians.
When Renee went over, she was surprised to see that one of the veterinarians was Owen Dunn.
"Dr. Dunn?"
A gentle smile appeared on Owen Dunnās handsome face. "Miss Jennings, we meet again."
Evan Griffin asked in surprise, "You two know each other?"
The moment he said it, he felt it was a stupid question.
Renee Jennings was an animal consultant, and Owen Dunn was a veterinarian from the wildlife protection base. It was perfectly normal for them to know each other.
"We met through work before," Renee explained, then asked, "Dr. Dunn, are you working at the zoo now?"
"No," Owen Dunn said with a light shake of his head and a smile. "Iām here to conduct a health survey of the zooās animals."
"I see." Renee nodded slightly and cut the small talk. "Letās go check on Fero, then."
With Renee present, the oral health examination for Fero went very smoothly.
Owen Dunn took off his gloves and explained, "Feroās dental pulp seems to be infected with bacteria. It was likely caused by a cracked tooth from fighting or biting something hard, which allowed the bacteria to get in."
Hearing this, Renee turned her head and asked Fero, "Have you been fighting recently?"
Fero answered guiltily, "It... it doesnāt count... as fighting, does it?"
Renee said, "So you did."
Fero fell silent.
"Who did you fight with?"
"Tyrus... He started it! I was just lying there, sleeping peacefully, and he suddenly went crazy and sat on my head! Of course I got angry..."
Renee said helplessly, "Iāll go have a talk with him in a bit. You get your tooth treated first."
The treatment required a tranquilizer dart.
Once the tranquilizer was administered, Fero obediently closed his eyes.
After watching for a moment, Renee entered the Tiger Park enclosure to find the other tigers.
"Renee, howās Fero?" Carter sidled up and asked as soon as he saw her.
Even though he was angry about being knocked flying earlier, Carter was still very concerned about his companion. "Is Fero going to die?"
"No," Renee said, shaking her head. "Itās just a small problem. The vet is treating him now. Heāll be fine soon."
"Oh, good, good." Carter breathed a sigh of relief.
Renee reached out and petted him. "Carter, youāre a good boy for worrying about your brother."
"Of course!" Carter said proudly. "Iām very caring."
"Then who isnāt caring?" Renee asked.
Carter tilted his head and thought for a few seconds before saying hesitantly, "Tyrus, I guess?"
"Tyrus?" Renee raised an eyebrow. "Why do you think he isnāt caring?"
"That guyās been like a maniac lately, picking fights with us at the drop of a hat," Carter said. "What kind of good tiger starts fights with other tigers every day?"
"Where is Tyrus? I donāt think Iāve seen him."
Hearing this, Carter immediately threw his head back and roared, "Tyrus, get your ass over here!"
The roar had barely faded when Renee felt the ground tremble.
Tyrus came running from the distance, looking majestic and fierce.
However, when he saw Renee standing next to Carter, his running slowed.
āWhy is Renee here too? I thought that punk Carter was challenging me to a showdown!ā
"Tyrus, get a move on, you!" Carter roared.
Hearing this, Renee frowned. "Carter, I donāt remember you using foul language before."
"Huh?" Carter was taken aback. "Is that foul language?"
"Yes."
Carter studied Reneeās expression and asked tentatively, "Renee, you donāt like it?"
"I donāt."
"Then Iāll change!"
Carter roared at Tyrus again, "Tyrus, hurry over here! Renee wants to see you!"
Hearing this, Tyrus sped up again.
He stopped in front of Renee and asked curiously, "Renee, you were looking for me?"
"Yes." Renee sized Tyrus up, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I heard you fought with Fero and even cracked his tooth?"
"His tooth cracked?" Tyrus instantly threw his head back and roared with laughter. "HAHAHA, Iām awesome!"
Renee: "..."
āHow is he proud of this?ā
"Fero is so lame!" Tyrus couldnāt help but mock. "He calls himself Fero, but heās not fierce at all!"
Renee: "..."
She took a deep breath and said resignedly, "I also heard youāve been picking fights with the other brothers lately?"
"Yeah!" Tyrus said defiantly. "Iāve won several times! Renee, arenāt I impressive? Iām not a wimpy tiger anymore!"
As Renee listened to him, she felt that something wasnāt quite right. "Who called you a wimpy tiger?"
"Those humans!" Tyrus flicked his head toward the viewing platform. "They always say Iām a wimpy tiger, a total coward. That I get bullied by the other tigers and donāt even know how to get fierce and fight back. Not like a majestic tiger at all."
Renee glanced at the viewing platform, her slender brows knitting together slightly. "So, because of what some tourists said, you started fighting your own brothers?"
Tyrus froze, suddenly feeling that the question sounded strange.
āFighting my own brothers?ā
"Tyrus, when you were ābulliedā by the other tigers before, why didnāt you fight back?" Renee asked softly.
"Well, I guess it wasnāt really bullying." Tyrus frowned deeply, a look of confusion in his sharp, tiger eyes. "They were just playing around, so I didnāt..."
"Exactly," Renee said with an amused smile. "You knew your brothers were just playing around. So why would you deliberately pick fights with them just because of a few words from some tourists?"
Tyrus seemed to realize he had done something wrong, and his head slowly drooped.
"Tyrus, you... you mean you went on this rampage just because some humans called you a wimp?" Carter was utterly shocked.
